    The problems in the marine and coastal environment have aroused the attention of many countries in the world. According to [1], it is estimated that every year eight million tons of debris find their way into the world's oceans, thus disturbing aquatic and marine ecosystems. Particularly in the case of coastlines, many studies show that the majority of marine litter (60-80%) consists of plastic [2]. The objectives are to evaluate the critical issues in regards to marine environment waste monitoring and to track the development of technology used in the field of marine and coastal debris monitoring problems over the last two decades. The method of this research is by investigating the topic that is quite a lot raised as research related to coastal and marine waste and the distribution of technology implemented for coastal and marine debris. The results show that waste in coastal and marine areas is a problem that needs to be solved immediately. The data relating to the generation of waste flowing into the ocean is dynamic, moving every day, depending on the generation of the generated waste and its accumulation and drifting in the ocean. The large amount of information collected from higher views (such as satellite views) provides important insights for understanding and identifying plastic waste debris pollution and its movement. The conclusion: Regardless of the application, an integrated technical solution is required, which can be sensors, communication devices, data packet transmission from client devices to servers with appropriate application protocols, or a combination of several technologies

    Pertumbuhan penduduk yang diikuti dengan meningkatnya kegiatan industri, pertanian, dan pemukiman telah menggusur lahan budidaya sehingga dari tahun ketahun luasnya semakin berkurang. Disamping itu aktifitas penduduk akan mengakibatkan pencemaran berupa limbah organik maupun anorganik Inovasi teknologi diperlukan untuk mengantisipasi penurunan produksi tanaman dan ikan akibat penyusutan lahan budidaya dan penurunan kualitas perairan. Inovasi teknologi tersebut diharapkan mampu mengurangi limbah dan meningkatkan produktifitas persatuan luas lahan budidaya. Salah satu inovasi teknologi yang dapat diterapkan yaitu budidaya tanaman sayuran dan ikan yang terintegrasi melalui sistem akuaponik. Program Pengabdian Masyarakat dilaksanakan di desa Butuh, kecamatan Butuh, kabupaten Purworejo bertujuan untuk Mengenalkan, mempraktikkan dan memotivasi masyarakat untuk dapat melakukan teknologi akuaponik sayuran dan budidaya lele dalam ember , mengisi waktu luang serta mengembangkan kemampuan budidaya sayuran dan budidaya ikan lele selain itu juga sebagai bentuk pemanfaatan pekarangan rumah atau lahan sempit menjadi efisien dan menguntungkan serta potensi meningkatnya gizi keluarga. Mitra dalam pelaksanan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah kelompok Wanita Tani Mandiri dengan anggota 16 orang. Metode yang digunakan adalah Education for Sustainable Development (EfSD) merupakan salah satu metode pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang berorientasi pada penyelesaian masalah pada lingkungan masyarakat. Metode EfSD menekankan pada 3 pilar yaitu ekonomi, ekologi atau lingkungan dan sosial. Program kegiatan yang dilaksanakan secara garis besar meliputi, 1) pemberdayaan masyarakat melalui penguatan kelembagaan dan peningkatan kualitas sumber daya manusia, 2) Penumbuhan dan pengembangan budidaya sayuran, dan perikanan berbasis akuaponik. Hasil pengabdian masyarakat ini berupa penguatan kelembagaan pada Kelompok Wanita Tani Mandiri mampu melaksanakan kegiatan program kegiatan dan sosialisasi dengan aktif. Dengan adanya pelatihan serta motivasi mampu menambah pengalaman dan wawasan anggota Kelompok Wanita Tani Mandiri dalam pengembangan budidaya sayuran dan ikan dalam ember.

    This research was designed for analyzing the effect of using different types of fish on the quality of Pempek in terms of froms, colors, flavors, textures, and taste. This research was classified into true experimental study which applied complete random sampling method. This research was conducted in three repetitions by involving 5 experts. The instrument of the research was a questionnaire of Likert scale. The data gathered through questionnaire were analyzed by using organoleptic test. To test the hypothesis, ANAVA was used, and if there was a difference occurred among the samples, Duncan test was needed. The result of the research revealed that the use of different fish affected the quality of Pempek in term of colors; golden yellow and white grayish, and in terms of texture which was chewy. Meanwhile the use of different types of fish did not influence the quality of pempek in terms of forms; cleanly, cylindrical, in the length of ± 10 cm and diameter of 3 cm, in terms of flavors; garlic, fish, not fishy, in terms of texture which was soft, and in the terms of taste which was tasteful and fishy.

    UD. Bismillah merupakan salah satu industri rumah tangga perseorangan yang memproduksi kerupuk mentah maupun matang untuk dipasarkan di desa sekitar. Alih teknologi yang dilakukan kepada UD. Bismillah berupa teknologi tepat guna dan analisis finansial usaha kerupuk ikan dengan menggunakan ikan “bulak” (Sardine fimbriata). Alih teknologi yang diberikan yaitu proses persiapan bahan yang dilakukan oleh pemilik, proses pencampuran bahan, pencetakan, pengukusan, pengeringan, dan pengorengan kerupuk oleh pegawai. Alat yang digunakan antara lain mesin pencetak kerupuk dengan konveyor, boiler dan steamer untuk proses pengukusan kerupuk serta tomang dan wajan untuk penggorengan kerupuk. Harga jual kerupuk yang sudah digoreng di tingkat pengecer/toko adalah Rp.200/buah. Penambahan ikan “bulak” dilakukan sebagai upaya pemanfaatan ikan nilai ekonomis rendah sebagai sumber gizi dan protein. Hasil analisis finansial menunjukkan dengan penambahan ikan bulak pada adonan menghasilkan nilai NPV Rp. 364.235.841,7; Net B/C sebesar 1,15; PBP sebesar 0,48 tahun atau 175,2 hari; ROI sebesar 2,1; dan BEP unit yang dihasilkan sebesar 10.648 kg. Hal ini menunjukkan usaha kerupuk ikan ‘Bulak' layak untuk dijalankan, dengan harga jual Rp.22.800 per kg kerupuk ikan ‘Bulak' matang.

    A novel label-free immunosensor for detecting steroid hormone was developed. The principle of the sensor system is based on differences in the electrochemical activity induced by an immunoreaction that depends on the levels of steroid hormone in the sample. A gold electrode functionalized with 3-mercaptopropionic acid (MPA) self- assembled monolayer was used to fabricate electrochemical immunosensor. In addition, single-wall carbon nanotube (SWCNT) was selected to expandthe dynamic range of the sensor. The sensor was immersed into a sample solution and measurements were determined by cyclic voltammetry. Each electrochemical measurement including sample immerse only took about 15min. In this study, we introduced an application of our sensor in detecting 17, 20β- dihydroxy-4-pregnen- 3-one (DHP). The immunosensor showed a specific response to DHP, and the oxidation peak current linearly decreased in the range of 7.8-500.0pg ml-1 (without SWCNT) and 15.6-50000.0pg ml-1 (with SWCNT). The sensor system was then applied to monitor DHP of goldfish (Carassiusauratus) and was compared with the levels of the same samples determined using ELISA as the convention method. Blood plasma of fish was collected every 3h after administering a DHP inducer. A good relationship (coefficient: 0.934) was observed between DHP levels determined by both methods.

    Penelitian kondisi sumberdaya ikan padang lamun telah dilakukan di wilayah intertidal Teluk Ekas, Lombok Timur. Pengambilan sampel ikan menggunakan metode swept area dengan pukat pantai (beach seine) di tiga stasiun pengamatan menunjukkan bahwa tingkat keanekaragaman ikan di lokasi penelitian rendah. Ada indikasi yang sangat kuat bahwa dominansi suatu jenis ikan di setiap stasiun pengamatan. Secara umum, kesuburan perairan Teluk Ekas relatif sama dengan perairan lainnya, namun kondisi lingkungan terutama persentasi penutupan padang lamun yang rendah menjadi penyebab utama rendahnya keanekaragaman ikan padang lamun di lokasi penelitian. Tingkat eksploitasi yang tinggi disertai dengan cara eksploitasi yang tidak mempertimbangkan kesinambungan pemanfaatan sumberdaya menjadi penyebab rusaknya habitat ikan, khususnya padang lamun di Teluk Ekas, Lombok Timur.

    This research was carried out in the lake Sipogas Rokan Hulu Regency Riau Province from May to July 2016. The aims of this research to determine species of fish found in the lake Sipogas Rokan Hulu.The method of direct observation ( inventory survey) the determination of sampling stations with purposive sampling. Determination station based on the environmental conditions of the lake Sipogas Rokan Hulu Regency consists of 4 research stations. The research found to 353 individuals of 3 ordo, 7 families, 13 genus and 14 species. Species found was Anabas testudineus, Barbodes gonionotus, Belontia hasselti, Channa striata, Cyclocheilichthys apogon, Hampala macrolepidota, Helostoma temminckii, Kryptopterus limpok, Ompok eugeneiatus, Osteochilus hasseltii, Osteochilus mycrocephalus, Pristolepis grooti, Puntius lateristriga and Rasbora sp.

    Title (Bahasa Indonesia):Kontaminasi merkuri (Hg) di Teluk Manado, Sulawesi Utara, IndonesiaArtisanal gold minings, which are situated in the highlands of the northern part of Sulawesi Island,use mercury (Hg) to extract gold and dischargetheirs tailings into rivers; one of the rivers(Bailang River) is connected to Manado Bay. This could cause Hg contamination into the bay. This study aimed to assess the contamination of Hg in the aquatic ecosystem of the bay. For the assessment, the bay was divided into 2 parts, namely the North and the South, and the contamination was assessed by measuring the total Hg concentration in sediments and fishes. Determination of Hg concentration refers to the Indonesian National Standard (SNI) 01-2896-1992 and Guidance of Balai Riset dan Standarisasi Industri Manado. The results showed that the range of Hg concentrations in fish varied by species; in the northern part of the bay: Holocentridae (0.1144-0.1151 ppm), Siganidae (0.0020-0.0034 ppm), Apogonidae (0.0461-0.050 ppm), and Nemipterus (0.0142-0.0144 ppm ). While in the southern part of the bay: Holocentridae (0.1090-0.1104 ppm), Siganidae (0.160-0.164 ppm), Apogonidae (0.1280-0.1291 ppm), Nemipterus (0.0522-0.0530 ppm) , and Priacanthus sp. (0.0194-0.0210 ppm). The average concentration of Hg in sediments of the bay around river mouths varied based on location, i.e. Bailang River was 0.0502 ppm, Sario River was 0.0270 ppm, Bahu River was 0.0615 ppm, and Malalayang River was 0.0143 ppm.Pertambangan emas rakyat menggunakan merkuri (Hg), yang berada di daerah dataran tinggi bagian Utara Pulau Sulawesi, membuang limbah tailing ke sungai menuju ke laut; satu dari sungai tersebut (Sungai Bailang) bermuara ke Teluk Manado. Hal ini dapat menyebabkan kontaminasi Hg ke lingkungan perairan teluk. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menilai kontaminasi Hg di ekosistem perairan teluk tersebut. Untuk penilaian, perairan teluk dibagi 2 bagian, yaitu bagian Utara dan Selatan, dan kontaminasi dinilai dengan cara mengukur konsentrasi Hg total pada sedimen dan ikan. Penentuan konsentrasi Hg mengacu Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI) 01-2896-1992 dan Panduan Balai Riset dan Standarisasi Industri Manado. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, bahwa kisaran konsentrasi Hg dalam ikan bervariasi berdasarkan jenis; dibagian Utara teluk: Holocentridae(0,1144-0,1151 ppm), Siganidae (0,0020-0,0034 ppm), Apogonidae (0,0461-0,050 ppm), dan Nemipterus (0,0142-0,0144 ppm).Sedangkandi perairan bagian Selatan teluk: Holocentridae (0,1090-0,1104 ppm), Siganidae (0,160-0,164 ppm), Apogonidae (0,1280-0,1291 ppm), Nemipterus (0,0522-0,0530 ppm),dan Priacanthus sp.(0,0194-0,0210 ppm). Konsentrasi rata-rata Hg di sedimen perairan teluk sekitar muara Sungai Bailang sebesar 0,0502 ppm, muara Sungai Sario sebesar 0,0270 ppm, muara Sungai Bahu sebesar 0,0615 ppm, dan muara Sungai Malalayang sebesar 0,0143 ppm.

    Ambon Bay waters consist of two parts, Inner Ambon Bay and Outer Ambon Bay separated by a gap that is narrow and shallow. Ambon Bay has a lot of functionality and USAbility both in transportation, conservation, and tourism. The existence of one of the sites SS. Aquila sinking ship that sank since May 27, 1958, became one of the tourist attraction diving in Ambon Bay. Determination of water pollution index Ambon Bay becomes very important to do as support material and development of sea travel. Determining pollution index is done by direct measurement using the sea water quality parameters Water Quality Checker (DKK TOA WQC Type-24), as well as laboratory analysis to determine the chemical parameters of seawater (pH, TSS, salinity, turbidity, oil, grease). The results showed that the waters of the Bay of Ambon Affairs based on some parameters water quality standard for marine tourism is still included in accordance with the standard criteria by Keputusan Menteri Negara Lingkungan Hidup Nomor: 51 Tahun 2004 on Guidelines for Determination of Water Quality Status.

    Parasitic copepods are of the most important parasites in the marine environment. They occupy a wide range of hosts ranging from many major groups of invertebrates to the top predators in the sea. Indonesia with vast ocean area has great opportunity to harbour a large numbers of parasitic copepods. However, only few studies of parasitic copepods have been conducted in this region, and most of them are preliminary studies, particularly on mariculture associated copepods. To date, only 70 species of parasitic copepods have been recorded from Indonesian waters. There is a lack of taxonomical approach on these studies, in which some of the specimens were not identified to species level.This highlights the need for taxonomic study and even molecular study of marine parasitic copepods in Indonesia. This paper aims to review the evolution of research on parasitic copepods in Indonesia and to identify areas in need of future research.
