The present study entitled “Water as a Symbol of Regenerative Force: A Study of Margaret Laurence's Select Novels” is proposes to investigate the water symbolism and water-related words in the novels of Margaret Laurence. She has been used many symbols, images, metaphors in her writings. This research paper focuses only on water symbolism and water-related words. She employed words such as, river, water, sea coast, pools, beaches, ocean, rain, and seashore. The study concentrates only five novels of Laurence namely, This Side Jordan, The Stone Angel, A Jest of God, The Fire-Dwellers, and The Diviners. The main purpose of the study is to prove that how Laurence uses water symbolism and water-related words in her fictional work, to emphasize the regeneration and survival in the aspects of human life. Further, it investigates how the water functions as a symbol of regenerative force in human life, is to be examined in the research paper with reference to the characters of Margaret Laurence novels.

Asam pedas is a soupy food with spices and the main ingredient is thick-fleshed river fish. This food has a low shelf-life, so it is necessary to apply sterilization technology. This research uses catfish as the main ingredient and retort pouch as packaging. This study aimed to determine the best sterilization time for catfish's asam pedas using retort pouch packaging based on physicochemical and microbiological characteristics. The sterilization time used is 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 minutes. Parameters observed were fat, protein, pH, thiobarbituric acid (TBA), texture, and Total Plate Count (TPC). The results showed that the sterilization time did not affect fat content, protein content, hardness level, TBA value, and the number of microbes, but the sterilization time significantly affected the pH value of catfish's asam pedas packaged in retort pouches. Overall, the sterilization process carried out in this study did not change the physicochemical and microbyological characteristics of the catfish's asam pedas. The best treatment in this study was a sterilization time of 25 minutes with a TPC value of 6.14 x 106 CFU/ml, the protein content of 11.89%, the hardness level of 178.81 gf, the pH value of 6.11, the fat content of 6.27%, and the TBA content of 0.19 mg malonaldehyde/kg.

Arsenic contamination is one of the major concerns today in Bangladesh. Various potential and threatening health risks for humankind could be occurred due to the consumption of Arsenic which has mixed with the food chain like fish and vegetables. Therefore, in this study, we analyzed 100 samples of deep tube well water, sediment, soil, vegetable, and fish samples, collected from five different Upazila of Joypurhat district in Bangladesh. The farming process, unplanned groundwater consumption, etc. could be marked as the main culprit for arsenic contamination in a region. However, Arsenic concentrations were determined by atomic absorption spectroscopy followed by the wet digestion method. From this analysis, a shocking result has been found that almost every sample contains arsenic and its level crossed the permissible limit set by WHO guidelines for water and food samples (vegetable and rice) which is an alarming issue for southeast Asian countries.

One of the aquaculture techniques is Culture Based Fisheries (CBF). CBF or Cultivation-Based Capture Fisheries is a capture fishery activity where the caught fish come from cultured fish seeds that are spread into water bodies, and the stocked fish seeds will grow by utilizing available natural food in increasing consumption fish production based on local wisdom. The purpose of this activity is to add insight and information for teachers and students about aquaculture using the CBF technique. The method used is the observation and preparation stage, the coordination stage, the tool and material preparation stage, and finally the implementation stage. The results of PKM activities The target audience in this Community Service activity is the community in general, but specifically it is addressed to the Santri/Students and Teachers at MA Bahrul Ulum Muliasari Tanjung Lago, Banyuasin Regency, which specifically has been attended by 41 people. During the PKL implementation, activities were carried out in 3 activities, the first was a speech from the head of MA Bahrul Ulum and also the PKL Team Leader, in the second session followed by a presentation session of 6 materials and the last was a demonstration activity or practice of measuring water quality as well as socialization of aquaculture study programs. fish. The results of this PKM are used to increase the willingness and knowledge of the community through students/teachers in developing their area to apply CBF technology to develop the fisheries sector in the area which looks quite promising.

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected every aspect of our lives and institutions, and unfortunately marine crime is also an area that has not been bypassed. Although we could say that during the lockdown period the environment was somewhat protected, it seems that after things started to return to normal and the crimes started to appear again. Between 1 and 30 March 2021, 67 states, including Romania, joined forces in a large-scale global operation coordinated by Europol and Frontex, as part of the EMPACT action plan on environmental crime, with global activities coordinated by INTERPOL. As a result of the 30 Days at Sea action, which is in its third edition, a large number of crimes against the pollution of the marine environment have been detected, and several sanctions have been applied, which proves that humanity is taking a stand against any form of environmental aggression in which we all live together. Through this article we have proposed to present and analyze both the crimes detected and the sanctions that have been applied by carrying out this extensive action, in all its three editions.

The management of water resources and the achievement of the Water Framework Directive 2000/60 / EC's objectives were the key research themes for this study. The study of Ichthyofauna was conducted at nine areas of Enipeas river basin in central Macedonia region of Greece. At the sampling stations, the electrofishing method was applied. The physicochemical parameters at the sampling site were measured with a multiparametric HANNA water quality meter, while water samples were collected and transferred to laboratories of the Biology Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki for analysis of nutrients and major ions. Out of nine stations, only one station discovered fish. Because the sampling was only done once, it is suggested that it be repeated at a different time because the research location is located in one of Greece's major catchments. Only three fish species were identified in the entire catchment area, indicating that more detailed studies are needed covering different surrounding areas.

The fish feed thrower machine can disperse the feed over a wide coverage area in a short time. Throw distance is an important parameter that must be considered in a fish feed thrower machine. Distribution of feed from the fish feed thrower machine is due to the centrifugal force. This study aims to analyze the rotational speed (RPM) of the fish feed thrower machine 360° against throw distance and centrifugal force of the feed grains. Maximum results obtained for throw distance, throw speed and centrifugal force occur at RPM 600. Farthest throw distances from the feed codes 781-1, 781 and 782 are 2.20 m, 1.89 m and 1.66 m. Maximum throw speeds of the feed codes 781-1, 781 and 782 are 14,667 m/s, 12,583 m/s and 11,083 m/s. Maximum centrifugal force of the feed codes 781-1, 781 and 782 are 0.504x10-3 N, 2.711x10-3 N and 5.796x10-3 N. This shows that the centrifugal force on the feed grains causes the rotational speed (RPM) to affect the distance and speed of the feed.

The Strategic Areas of Teluk Bima and Teluk Saleh on Sumbawa Island have potential natural resources for regional economic development. Through the determination of the Teluk Bima and Teluk Saleh areas as National Strategic Areas, it is expected that economic growth in this region will develop significantly, so that regulations are needed from the aspects of planning, utilization and control of space to support various infrastructure activities and other sector activities in the context of realizing a safe, comfortable space, productive and sustainable. This study aims to analyze the suitability of space as a national strategic area. Data was collected through library research and searching for data and information on institutions related to the FGD approach. Space suitability analysis using Geographic Information System (GIS) approach. The results show that the Teluk Bima Bay and Teluk Saleh area (called Bima and Sumbawa Andalan) is worthy of being a national strategic area, with the leading sectors of tourism, industry and fisheries, so that it is important to prepare the Spatial Planning of the Strategic area.
