We aim at discussing the possible interest of the approach to the IOTC Community for focusing on Indian ocean tuna and tuna-like stocks and running other assesment models such as Stock Synthesis 3 (SS3). In 2014, ICCAT BFT-E working group has been able to execute thousands of model runs by using parallelization of R and Fortran codes on a supercomputer. This approach has a lot of scienti c bene ts, in particular for better including the multiple sources of uncer- tainty in assessment results and associated scienti c advice. However, very few participants would be able to reproduce it without speci c technical skills. Since November 2015, a WebSite or VRE for Virtual Research En- vironment has been set up within the H2020 BlueBridge project to enable users to easily parametrize and execute various steps of the BFT-E stock assessment work ow. By repackaging codes provided by ICCAT BFT-E working group, the same codes are now executable online. They can be parametrized, executed and edited by anybody from a simple web page and data outputs are delivered in standard data format. At this stage, this VRE comes with various collaborative Web Services: (i) a workspace to share documents or data, (ii) Web pages or RStudio server to process data online, and (iii) an automated report service to dynamically generate documents packaging these results. Such a collaborative environment enables to store and access the whole set of data and source codes to replicate past results or to try new parametrizations of the model with usual tools or simple web forms. Such an approach might bring more transparency and collaboration within working groups. International audience

La première partie montre que la nature des Galapagos, si originale soit-elle, est en réalité devenue un espace, enjeu de multiples usages. L'objet du premier chapitre est double. Il décrit la nature des Galapagos : une géologie tumultueuse et des irrégularités climatiques dues aux fluctuations des courants océaniques rendent difficiles les colonisations naturelles et humaines : leurs paysages aux animaux et plantes caractéristiques varient selon l'altitude, l'exposition aux vents dominants et l'action de l'homme et des organismes qu'il a introduits dans l'archipel. Et ce chapitre explique la singularité de cette nature en rappelant l'escale de Darwin et en appliquant sa théorie de l'évolution complétée par des travaux contemporains sur l'écologie insulaire. On comprend ainsi que l'isolement des Galapagos a permis la spécialisation géographique de nombreuses populations végétales et animales, et que sa rupture est synonyme de perte de biodiversité. Or l'histoire des Galapagos, relatée dans le second chapitre, est celle de la transformation de leur nature singulière en espace ouvert. Découvert au 16è siècle par les Espagnols, l'archipel n'est véritablement inclus dans le système Monde qu'à partir de la fin du 17è siècle, comme base de flibustiers britanniques. Au 19è siècle, bien qu'annexées par l'Equateur, les Galapagos continuent d'être utilisées à leur guise par les étrangers, les naturalistes supplantant les baleiniers de Nouvelle-Angleterre lors de la seconde moitié du siècle, qui marque aussi la colonisation définitive de l'archipel par des entrepreneurs et leur main-d'oeuvre servile raflée sur le continent... The use of permethrin and carbosulfan was precluded because of risk of environmental impact and, Bacillus thuringiensis ser. H-14 treatments were not envisageable due to cost and logistics constraints. Among the possible complementary groups of larvicides tested, the pseudo-pyrethroids, held promise, because of a mode of action similar to that of pyrethroids, but along with a usually lower toxicity for fish. Etofenprox, one of the pseudo-pyrethroids tested, shows a global detachment of non-target insects in 24 h close to that of pyraclofos, an organo-phosphorus compound (27 against 23%). In laboratory conditions, six times the operational dose which is 0.03 mg l-1 10 min, is needed to cause 50% mortality of Caridina sp. (a small shrimps species) and 30 times this same dose for 95% mortality. For fish species, a safety margin of 400-800 times the operational dose is observed for Oreochromis niloticus and 200-400 times for Tilapia zillii. © 2001 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved.

El desarrollo de las redes turísticas y migratorias ha acelerado la conexión del archipiélago al territorio ecuatoriano y al mercado mundial. La naturaleza «protegida» se ha convertido en un espacio sometido a las exigencias de rentabilidad de un mundo caracterizado por la mercantilización y la uniformización de los lugares. Esta «conservación contra natura» tiene consecuencias catastróficas para los ecosistemas y los habitantes del archipiélago. Más allá del estudio de una región emblemática, el autor hace una reflexión sobre el sitio del hombre en la naturaleza, verdadero alegato en favor de la preservación de la geodiversidad. Su obra innovadora y estimulante se dirige a todos los actores preocupados por el porvenir de nuestro planeta. Esta edición en español ha sido enriquecida con un epílogo escrito por el autor diez años más tarde, después de dos nuevas misiones en las islas en 2001 y 2005.

Destinado a facilitar las investigaciones naturalistas y en principio a servir de modelo para nuevas formas de valorización turística más respetuosas del entorno (ecoturismo), este parque es hoy en día objeto de muchas críticas. El desarrollo de las redes turísticas y migratorias ha acelerado la conexión del archipiélago al territorio ecuatoriano y al mercado mundial. La naturaleza «protegida» se ha convertido en un espacio sometido a las exigencias de rentabilidad de un mundo caracterizado por la mercantilización y la uniformización de los lugares. Esta «conservación contra natura» tiene consecuencias catastróficas para los ecosistemas y los habitantes del archipiélago. Más allá del estudio de una región emblemática, el autor hace una reflexión sobre el sitio del hombre en la naturaleza, verdadero alegato en favor de la preservación de la geodiversidad. Su obra innovadora y estimulante se dirige a todos los actores preocupados por el porvenir de nuestro planeta. Esta edición en español ha sido enriquecida con un epílogo escrito por el autor diez años más tarde, después de dos nuevas misiones en las islas en 2001 y 2005.
