European households have had a steady contribution of approximately 25-27% to the final energy consumption since 1995. Thus, the overall objective of the C.H.A.N.G.E.R.S. project is to exchange the good examples on adult education of the project partners through 4 short-term joint staff trainings covering three main topics: energy efficiency (EE), renewable energy sources (RES) and sustainability in HOUSEHOLDS. Although several learning materials are available online in these topics, there are social groups e.g. the rural population or senior citizens, who have little or no chance to gain knowledge in these topics. Accordingly, our main target group is rural households with a special focus on rural seniors. It is important to note that Europe's population is getting older while 6% of the EU’s silver generation (55+) has no internet access, and 40% of them never used internet. In this project, all partners have considerable experience in adult education in the field of energy and sustainability, and are committed to improve their related knowledge and skills. The best way to accomplish this improvement is to train the staff members of the PPs’ organizations. The outcomes of the project would be the collection of good examples and a recommendation document that serves as a user guide, explaining the ways the adult trainings might be prepared and done for seniors. The project intends to address both direct and indirect target agents. The direct target group includes the staff of the participating partners but we will try to reach further professionals who would like to complement their skills with a knowledge of this area. The ‘exchange of good examples’ type of project addresses primary the participating organisation. However, the partnership is really committed to disseminate the collection of good examples shared during the project implementation, thus, we intend to reach the indirect target group which consists of households including seniors, especially in the rural areas.Expected results of C.H.A.N.G.E.R.S.’ project:-increased knowledge of educators-increased knowledge at participating partner organisations-opportunity to adapt the presented good examples-better cooperation amongst the participating organisations and improved capacity to work and collaborate in a transnational environment -new opportunity for adult educators to improve their knowledge and competences in the field, and for the stakeholders to educate the households -potential to create new ideas as follow-up of the project or as new, future opportunities for cooperation based on the project resultsThe planned activities were built up in order to achieve the idea of increasing the PPs’ knowledge on sustainability, RES and EE in the field of adult education. JSTs are expected to last 3-4 days with optional programmes besides classroom training such as field trip which helps better understanding the topics. The cooperation of various entities from different countries will strengthen our goal to create a balanced partnership where the knowledge and experience of experts can be shared enabling the partnership to make high-quality adult learning materials in the future, while building bridge amongst the project partners via an international project team. For enhancing the spread and the adaptation of the project results, project partners will prepare a collection of good examples using the best practices shared during the short-term joint staff trainings of the C.H.A.N.G.E.R.S. project implementation which will be completed with a short recommendation on how to use the collection in the most effective way.The partners are committed to disseminate the project results during and even after the project closure. The outcomes will be available on the partners’ websites, thus, it can be used for future projects and for further educational purposes. The project has delivered an innovative training system based on interactive tools, helping adults to acquire basic knowledge of computer programming and promote an active and conscious usage of IT tools in households. These training materials have covered a wide range from the basics of digitalization, computational thinking and using everyday examples to develop algorithms (targeted to non-digital users) to the actual development of code through the use programming languages and through the use of specific tools and games targeted to coding with children. The developed materials will help users improve their digital and transversal skills and their ability to support their children in the use of ICT. According to the “The Survey of Adult Skills” (EC-PIAAC) the function of adult education should be to support economic growth and competitiveness, assure inclusive and equitable development, provide socio-economic benefit, but also individual benefits, in terms of personal and professional development, empowerement, adaptability, employability and active participation in society. This is exactly what the present project has done, by promoting coding education among European adult learners and by working together with international activities such as code-week.org . The EDUCODE consortium has operated under the principle that coding education is not only about equipping the current and next generation to work as software engineers, it is about promoting computational thinking, i.e. a problem solving method that uses computer science techniques. It combines mathematics, logic and algorithms, and teaches a new way to think about the world. The direct target group is composed of adult people of any age and status, workers, parents, retired. However, the development of contents and tools has catered for the needs of specific sub-groups, such as women (trough the case studies provided) by ECWT, men and young adults. Representatives of the end-beneficiaries, about 200 per country, 1000 in total, have been involved in several stages of the project: during the initial in-depth analysis of adult learners attitude to coding, in the delivery and assessment of the training and in the framework of demonstration events. Moreover, the partners will organise local contests to stimulate participation and creativity.Indirect target groups are the stakeholders that can exploit the results in different contexts and have been reached mainly through dissemination and exploitation activities: Each partner has developed further contacts both within the time-frame and after the training and educational centres, schools, civil society organisaitons, public authorities and decision-makers. They can use the platform, contents and games to organise courses and events on coding education, to train teaching staff or to promote digital learning towards policy-makers. Thanks to dissemination activities, the knowledge of the project has reached more than 5.000 people and 2000 organisations. The main tangible result has been an interactive, multifunctional and multilingual platform for adult coding education. The user-friendly platform hosts contents targeted to the users. Moreover, the training path offers quizzes for assessment of the acquired knowledge and also practical exercises and gadgets to be used with children and teenagers, so as to favour intergenerational learning. The expected result was to promote digital learning and key competences of adult people in Europe, in line with the Agenda for Adult Learning, set up by the European Commission. As for intangible expected results in the medium and long term, the foreseen outcomes are the following:•Improvement of personal skills and motivation of adult learners through coding education•Favouring active participation and better understanding of the digital world we live in •Improved professional opportunities as basic coding skills is also needed for many jobs, plus it helps developing transversal skills such as problem solving that are needed in any job (including the basics of digital skills)•Favouring the promotion of non-formal and informal learning among adult people usually excluded from mainstream and traditional education pathways.• Improved intergenerational learning and safer usage of ICT by kids and adults. By using the practical tools to code and play on coding with their children, parents have the opportunity to teach their kids the basics of computer programming, be more prepared in supporting their children homework, play a more active role in assisting their kids when using technology devices. The project is implemented by a consortium of 7 partners from 5 European countries (SP, IT, GR, PL, NO), including foundations, schools, adult education providers, civil society organisations, software house and university.

Water is the commonest substance on the earth surface. Yet, the fresh water resources are endangered by human population and activities and this gets worse with the on-going pollution. Water is a global challenge, yet action at local level is important, as our way of living and consuming practices have an impact on water resources. Citizens as consumers of products that have a water footprint can affect significantly the consumption of direct and indirect water and make a contribution to water savings. The project developed an awareness raising campaign, aimed to start a capacity building action to make citizens responsible consumers, as they can affect the water consumption in three ways: •The change of their consumption habits from products with large water footprint to products with small water footprint;•The reduction of direct water consumption;•The pressure of citizens/consumers on manufacturers and decision-makers.Project results are hosted on a web platform that will remain online for at least 5 years: www.aquapath-project.eu . This includes:•6 training modules available for online reading and download/print. The contents include: water scarcity, water sustainability, production models, sustainable lifestyles, household’s consumption, water in the public sector and of course the concept of individual Water Footprint. Each module is equipped with further reading, links and a quiz to self-assess the knowledge acquired;•One module for children (considered as a medium to reach and inform adults) which summarizes the contents developed for adults in an educational booklet enriched with games, quizzes and child-friendly materials. The booklet, called Aquapass, has been released together with a handbook for teachers/educators, guidelines to train children using the Aquapass;•One water footprint calculator, which allows any citizens to calculate its own individual water footprint and provides a feedback on how to decrease it with a link to relevant training contents. •One tool for water issues online reporting, which consists in a widget embedded in the platform allowing citizens to report any problem related to water consumption, leakage, pollution, ect. Besides training contents and tools, the consortium also developed a series of communication materials, an educational video and games for adults and children. The main target group are adult citizens of any age and background. Most of the results are designed to address their skill gaps and their educational needs. To reach and train adults, however, the project also addressed children (and teachers as well), developing materials and tools designed to educate and raise awareness of the citizens of the future. The consortium, made of 7 partners from 6 EU countries (IT, FR, DE, NL, SP, PT), assured a qualified mix of trans-national, trans-sectoral and interdisciplinary backgrounds and fields of expertise. The consortium includes a training centre, a municipality, a research centre, a technology transfers organisation, an agency and an NGO active in the promotion of sustainability. The activities have been implemented around three main phases:1.First the consortium conducted a training needs analysis and desktop research, in order to investigate skill gaps and map existing initiatives/materials: (936 people involved);2.Then the results have been developed, reviewed, translated in 6 languages (plus English) and made available online as open educational resources: the platform has reached more than 8000 visitors;3.The third phase has been dedicated to testing, evaluation and fine-tuning the results in view of the final release. More than 200 people have evaluated project results during pilot test activities. Throughout the overall duration of the project, a series of dissemination activities and materials have launched the awareness raising campaign, which has been given a boost in the last months of the project, thanks also to internet presence, social networks and several multiplier events (17 events in 6 countries, a total of 1009 participants, out of which 400 adults and 609 children)The main impact on participants and on the people reached/trained through project results is the raised awareness of the issues related to water resources, such as consumption, scarcity, pollution and the ways to reduce the individual water footprint. This leads to a change of behaviour in terms of more sustainable consumers and citizens’ choices. The results of the pilot test demonstrate that the large majority of participants acquired a good knowledge of the water footprint concept and is intended to change its behaviour in view of a more sustainable lifestyle. As for long term benefits, thanks to the capacity building approach of the project, the project laid the basis for the empowerment of all citizens, no matters the educational level they have, towards a more sustainable society. This is a small but important step against climate change.
