The underlying innovation idea of ICARUS-SW is a software for the identification and prediction of new nanocrystalline alloys with tailored properties. The software can be used as a predictive tool for the exploration, identification and design of new thermodynamically stable multi-component nc metal alloys with enhanced thermal, mechanical and irradiation damage self-healing properties. It allows the systematic exploration of the parameters space defined by chemical composition, microstructure, thermodynamic state functions and properties in search of new families of nc alloys. In preparation of this software, the exploitation, IPR and dissemination strategies will be defined and implemented in this project, based on in-depth market analysis, business planning and other exploitation-related activities.

To reach Europe climate neutrality by 2050 as ambitioned by the Green Deal strategy, it is necessary to drastically reduce emissions from aviation. Clean Aviation Joint Undertaking has set out a very ambitious innovation programme to achieve this goal but it is also necessary to create synergy with the different aeronautical regional/national funding programmes in order to create leverage effects and maximise funding impact. ECARE project’s objective is to draw linkage between European/national/regional roadmaps and aeronautical stakeholders and co-create synergies through a pilot covering 4 major aeronautical European regions (Occitanie and Nouvelle Aquitaine in France, Hamburg Land in Germany and Campania in Italy) with the aim of creating a methodology expandable to other aeronautical European regions. ECARE digital platform will provide (i) a mapping of funding opportunities, relevant projects, scientific and industrial resources, (ii) a forum for exchange of information. The ECARE Stakeholders Group (funding bodies, clusters and other aeronautical stakeholders) will foster and spread ECARE methodology. After more than a hundred interviews with aviation players, national and transnational workshops will co-elaborate and provide recommendations for CAJU Phase 2 implementation by 2025. The consortium is composed of 3 major European aeronautical clusters (Aerospace Valley, Hamburg Aviation and Campania Aerospace District) and one Belgian SME specialized in aeronautics technology services (EASN-TIS). All are experts in their domain and other European aeronautical clusters will be involved inter alia via the EACP (European Aeronautical Clusters Partnership) partnership coordinated by Hamburg Aviation cluster. Eventually the project is expected to bring together more than 300 entities via the platform and 30 ECARE Stakeholders Group members that will collaborate on the synergy to help the European aviation achieve its ambitious goals.

The CLAIM proposal main high-level objectives are: 1. To obtain an answer on how to best translate the Clean Aviation Programme objective to reduce net greenhouse gas emissions by -30% versus state of the art into tangible metrics in terms of measurable engine tailpipe emissions, by a. Collecting, analysing and establishing the current level of scientific understanding within the worldwide community of climatology and atmospheric sciences, and of aviation climate impact and its greenhouse gas emissions contributions; b. Identifying knowledge gaps, barriers, and needs for research in view of orienting more appropriately the technology research streams for future green and zero-emission aircraft. 2. To compile an inventory of relevant aeronautical advanced research activities and technology areas, not only from the aviation community but potentially also from other sectors if relevant by a. Reviewing and analysing aeronautical literature on “disruptive aircraft concepts” or greener aircraft as well as on climate-neutral aviation in general, including their (preliminary) environmental performance/results; b. Proposing a way forward and an approach that highlights the assumptions and metrics used to reconcile the numbers and the prospects of performance improvements for the main technologies; c. Categorising these concepts in terms of aerodynamics, structural, systems and propulsion technologies and their associated benefits at aircraft level, as well as performing a technology mapping; d. Performing a preliminary performance assessment using proposed assumptions and criteria for an SMR and an HER. Consequently, through achieving its objectives, the CLAIM proposal assists Clean Aviation, EC and EASA by providing more clarity and contributing to all of the expected outcomes

In many respects, the evolution of the Japanese airline passenger represents an anticipation of the societal trends for the world's future airline passenger (ageing and being connected from point to point for instance). If the design of the future human-centered passenger cabin is able to satisfy the highly demanding expectations from the Japanese customer (in terms of safety, perceived quality, comfort, connectivity), it will also most likely please the customers in Asia and elsewhere in the world. The objective of the FUCAM project (FUture Cabin for the Asian Market) is thus to develop a 2025+ conceptual cabin design devoted to the Asian market, for short and medium range aircraft. The FUCAM project will analyze the user requirements from the airlines and passengers in Japan and two other key markets representative of the Asian area (China, South-East Asia). In parallel, the project will establish a panorama of the innovative cabin technologies emerging in Europe and Japan. From these inputs, it will compose a cabin concept capable of answering the collected requirements, while incorporating the most promising enabling technologies. Furthermore, thorough studies will be conducted on the integration of this cabin concept into the aircraft (installation, reconfiguration, power and data compatibility), in order to raise its maturity level to TRL3. This will include several validation steps, involving first a functional mockup produced in Europe and later a full-scale customer validation mockup produced in Japan. FUCAM is a 3-year collaborative project with Japan comprising 8 research and industrial partners from 7 European countries.
