Yet, it is recognized that the transition to a green economy will induce significant changes in the job market. The goal of GREENCAP is to address the question of HEI adaptation to such job market evolution towards green jobs. It, therefore, aims to develop student’s employability in the field of green business, through the exchange of good practices between 3 EU universities and 4 Cambodian partner universities. The key factor of success for this project lies in the multi-stakeholder cooperation. To this end, GREENCAP set up forums and events aiming at creating space for a dialogue between Cambodian stakeholders concerned with those topics – Universities, the wider economic society (enterprises, NGO, cities…), and ministry. These spaces for dialogue will be held at three levels. First, at the National level, it will come through the implementation of a professional committee and the organization of an annual green conference involving various stakeholders. It gives the opportunity to share knowledge and experiences in the field of green business which will facilitate to formulate recommendations for teaching, research and partnership opportunities. Second, at the local level, GREENCAP aims to improve green job market matching opportunity with the organization job fairs, career centers, and the creation of digital jobs/internships platform. Third, at the institutional level, the outcomes of upper level will help to develop green business modules into HEI curricula. Staffs from the EU will also provide support to partner staff, through trainings, for greening the curriculum putting special focus on learning and teaching tools, methodologies and pedagogical.

It aims to improve the quality of doctoral programs and to increase the research capacity of Khmer Higher Education Institutions (HEI). The key factor of success for this project lies in the scientific multi-disciplinary cooperation on a few specific topics. Along with the booming economy and increased seaborne traffic, the economic consequences of Climate Change and environmental concerns are becoming major issues for the country. Consequently, there is a need for more academic research in these fields. A national network on Environmental and Maritime research (EMR) and an on-line platform of data sharing will be created in this respect. During the second and third year of the project, a summer school will be organized. Students from EU and Cambodia will be offered opportunities to attend various courses taught by international and local professors. The basic principle is to stimulate, organize and exploit all forms of cooperation in research between the participants. DOCKSIDE supports MoEYS in the reform of higher education and restructuring actions for high-standard research. Improving and managing efficiently higher education are the main pillars of this reform. Experts and professors from EU will provide Khmer HEIs with recommendations for syllabus development, innovative research methodologies, e-learning and administrative efficiency of HEIs. Cambodian staff members will learn from the good practices experienced in European institutions. DOCKSIDE will also empower Khmer students through research internships in European universities. EU students will also be involved in the international mobility program by attending the thematic summer schools and participate in traineeships. These two-way exchange opportunities will allow project partners to establish a variety of contacts for future joint-master and PhD programs.

The project idea originates from the observation of the existing gaps in the HES of these countries for what concerns: the inclusion of students in designing and creating class activities; the possibility to express their own ‘voice’ within the governance institutions of the university and to organize extra-curricular activities through student associations; the engagement with the broader context of the social community at large. ENGAGE builds on and expands the previous experiences of the CHINLONE and TOOLKIT projects (see paragraph D.3) including part of the ENGAGE consortium. Specifically, the ENGAGE project intends to address the problem of student engagement from three different perspectives, using three distinct platforms which constitutes the main levels of action for the students: classroom, campus and community. CLASSROOM ENGAGEMENT aims at addressing the problem of students' inclusion within the process of designing and managing of learning and teaching activities, transforming them from ‘passive subjects’ to ‘active agents’ of the ""Learning and Teaching"" (L&T) process. CAMPUS ENGAGEMENT aims at addressing the problem of student participation in the governance and decision-making process of the universities. The problem of student engagement in the university institutions and organizations has emerged as a crucial point in the preliminary need analysis for the three Partner Countries. COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT aims at addressing the problem of transforming the student engagement and participation on-campus into practices of community development and active citizenship in the social environment at large."

It is changing how global challenges may be met: climate change, urbanisation, energy efficiency and optimisation, sustainability. Smart and sustainable cities (SSCs) are heralded as a possible, significant means to face these challenges. A more efficient urban metabolism requires a better understanding of the concept of sustainability, ecology and social coherence, amongst other things. This is also where the educational challenge lays and what makes the industry and public authorities so interested in finding employees that have the potential to manage broad solutions and complex ecosystems. In this context, the SCALE project will develop an innovative ecosystem in Asia consisting of:- Micro-courses/micro-credentials to train Theoretical, Natural, Engineering, Computer Science and Information Technologies graduates to address the new challenges posed by the ever-increasing needs for environmental awareness, energy efficiency and concerns posed by urbanisation and technological developments. The micro-courses will introduce innovative elements to the existing curricula. - Professionals’ courses / MOOCs, introducing dual learning systems bridging tertiary studies with upper secondary VET to boost graduates' employability. - Practical training schemes, internships, and study of real-life cases in business and industry.- Capacity building workshops for academic, technical, and administrative staff to support HEIs to develop and implement the institutional reforms.- Knowledge triangle integration, establishing new collaborations and enhancing the nature, content and types of partnerships with businesses, regional authorities, research organisations, governmental bodies, NGOs and other societal partners.- Exchange of good practices through enhanced networking and mutual learning.
