The Tunisian political and social setting after the 2011 revolution and the democratic transition highlights the necessary promotion of humanities and social sciences studies (HSS) to think the ongoing transformations and therefore to advance the debates in the Tunisian society. In this context, the enhancement of the curricula provided by doctoral schools in HSS tend to become an important issue. Raqmyat project will contribute to the promote an innovative way to deliver HSS doctoral education in Tunisia. This objective will be addressed by developing the use of digital tools for research and reinforcements of students soft skills in 7 participating Tunisian HEIs. By 2022, each doctoral school will adopt and implement its own digital development strategy. During the project, 8 online courses will be created in order to introduce doctoral students to digital humanities and to the use of digital resources for research. Tunisian professors will receive specific trainings for the implementation of those courses and for the creation of new teaching modules. Raqmyat will also focus on the development of doctoral students soft skills for a better employability. Each Tunisian university will organize a “doctoriale” where students will apply their research skills in partnership with private partners in order to address concrete digital related economic and social issues. Two summer schools will be also organized to create an euro-tunisian community of doctoral students that will be at the origin of the RaqmyatSHS digital online plateform.

"The number of students having access to higher education system in South Mediterranean countries more than doubled in 15 years. This positive step forward involves in parallel important difficulties for universities to handle overcrowding. In STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), one promising solution matching the national priorities in Algeria, Jordan, Morocco and Tunisia concerns the development of nationally accredited e-learning trainings (""e-engineering trainings""), e-learning being a very modern and efficient solution to integrate multiple profiles of students. The main originality of the e-LIVES project is to make sure that beneficiary partners will be 100% independent for creating and managing an e-engineering training at the end of the project. e-LIVES will propose innovative e-engineering solutions to deal with a range of administrative, human and material obstacles to HEIs modernisation. These solutions will be identified after providing a critical mapping of e-engineering best practices and will be developed in an innovative way and innovative format (tutorials, technical and summary data sheets, trainee practical exercises, open workshops, etc) on real conditions in each beneficiary partner.E-Lives project pursues the 5 following specific objectives:- Identification of best practices in order to build high-quality e-engineering trainings- Development of reliable remote laboratory solutions with online access to Practical Works 24/24 and 7/7.- Development of practical open staff trainings in South Mediterranean universities- Control and value the pedagogical innovation solutions used- Promote e-engineering within the South Mediterranean countries mainly through National Dissemination Workshops in all the partner countries involved in the project.Know-how sharing and learning by doing approach will ensure ownership of the e-LIVES e-engineering solutions and sustainability of the future developed trainings."

It is of major importance to use operationally all Earth Observation data for Agriculture and Environmental (A&D) purpose with consideration of both spatial and temporal evolution.Earth observation provides big data (in terms of volume, variety, and velocity) that is valuable for agriculture activities. This Big Data management is the aim of the discipline of geomatics that combines tools and methods for acquiring, representing, analyzing and integrating multisource geographic data (Remote Sensing RS, Geographic Information System GIS, Spatial Analysis AS…) that require improvements in Tunisia. The main objective of GEOMAG is to develop the adaptation capacities of Tunisia's higher and vocational education system in the field of A&D by taking into account Geomatics.GEOMAG aims to establish:- The basics useful for acquiring skills in Geomatics and spatial data quality control, through design, experimentation, provision - including web learning (e-learning) - of initial training courses (FI ) and professional (FP) ones adapted to the various specialties associated with Geomatics applied to A&D: GIS, AS, geodesy, Big data ... The pedagogical engineering will be preceded by a prior 'study-validation' of the Tunisian EES and professional needs in the matter.- The capacities of the academic institutions for the operational implementation of Geomatics: for the FI at the licence, engineering, Masters and PhD levels, for the FP with the managers (sensitization) and professionals (training-action) of the sector, for research and technology transfer to teacher-researchers and other 'professionals of the academic world, to be specifically trained.- The networking of TN partners and A&D TN associated partners, with the EU partners, by creating an open and evolving platform of (inter)national expertise and sharing. GEOMAG contributes to the improvement of the management and the valorization of the natural resources and the agricultural management activities in Tunisia.

The MED2IaH initiative stems from the necessity of cover an important aspect of internationalization in Mediterranean countries (Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Lebanon, Jordan) higher education system that has not been tackled adequately until now – Internationalisation at Home (IaH). Within EU funded projects, internationalization at large has been covered by different projects embracing European concepts like Bologna system, ECTS, internationalization of curriculum and cross-cultural issues within a multi-diversity paradigm. Though IaH is a relatively recent concept, it has already been embraced widely, particularly in northern and western Europe. IaH aims to bring internationalisation to all students through the home curriculum. It is therefore primarily about teaching and learning, which implies that lecturers are increasingly becoming prominent players in internationalisation. After all, they are the ones who create learning environments with international and intercultural dimensions. The project thus attempts to develop University Strategy on IoHE and Research and individual Action plans for IaH in 12 PCHEIs after exploring the different EU models available for IaH. A common terminology around the concept of IaH will be needed as well. As a way to reinforce IaH strategies partners will establish specific guidelines and protocols for foreign student services - including those related to safety and security for instance. Other mechanisms like social integration schemes will be developed as well. A particular activity to enhance IaH will be the organisation and delivery of virtual webinars in PC HEI. The project will support the development of a strategic framework for HE and IaH specificially and the enhancement of structured regulations and procedures that facilitate incoming exchange mobilities, creation of support schemes for foreign students coming to PC HEIs and complementing other measures that have been previously put in place through other CBHE projects.

EQuAM-T project aims to strengthen the management of quality assurance in higher education in Tunisia. It will capitalize on existing capacities at the national and local levels to transform dispersed components and capacities into a system with interactions and capacities allowing to evolve from few dispersed initiatives, taken on a small scale and weakly institutionalized, towards recurrent actions, regular and coordinated on a large scale, with caparable level of quality and benefiting from strong systemic capacities and performances at the national level.Tunisia will have an agency capable of carrying out recurrent and regular assessments in all universities and higher education institutions and capable of carrying out continuous work, both at institutional and programmatic level. EQuAM-T will accelerate operationalization and strengthen the QA system in place. On the other hand, the toolbox, guidelines, benchmarks and code of practice that will be developed during EQuAM-T project will continue to serve as the basis for a rapidly evolving Tunisian QA system, adaptable to the different contexts of each university. EQuAM-T will make concrete the full integration of external QA and internal QA processes and a clear definition of the role and responsibilities of the actors. Thanks to the EQuAM-T project, internal committees for quality in universities will be operationalized and upgraded to European standards. Certifyng online training for initiation or development of QA actors will be possible in three languages. The accreditation of QA experts in Tunisie, but also at the MENA region, will also be possible within the framework of courses certified by the EQuAM-T consortium and in particular quality agencies including the Tunisian agency IEAQA and the Spanish agency ANECA.
