Despite existing efforts, there remains a significant gap in early-stage support for managing these assets, essential for creating and strengthening spin-offs from research activities. The project aims to support PROs and their spin-offs in aligning their entrepreneurial efforts with key EU guidelines and Codes of Practice. IAM4RE.eu facilitates a transition from IP management to a broader IA management framework, moving beyond simple commercialization to focus on value creation that can benefit the broader innovation ecosystem. The initiative will focus on capacity-building and the development of modular educational resources, including training suites, a massive open online course (MOOC), and a "train-the-trainer" program, aimed at enhancing skills in knowledge valorization and standardization across Europe. The project will also create and support the delivery of practical tools and services to help PROs and AcIs implement these practices effectively and will produce Policy Guidelines for PROs decision-makers supporting the transition towards more effective internal IAM. All contents will be tested through real-world application in selected PROs to ensure their effectiveness, with the ultimate goal of scaling these practices across Europe. The consortium, comprising leading EU organizations in entrepreneurship, IAM, and standardization, will leverage their collective expertise to design and deliver educational content, services, and policy guidelines. The IAM4RE.eu project emphasizes long-term sustainability, with strategies in place for the dissemination of its outputs, direct exploitation of KERs, including establishing a community of practice to ensure ongoing impact.

In the proposal phase, CircularInvest collected signed support letters from European cities that wish to benefit from the CircularInvest PDA services with an overall investment volume exceeding €20M. CircularInvest will be deployed in 4 stages: 1) Ignition: promotion and launch of 2 calls for expressions of interest to engage CE project promoters in CircularInvest´s PDA services; 2) Selection: implementing an independent and inclusive selection of CE investment project promoters (beneficiaries) to receive PDA support; 3) Technical assistance: delivering PDA services based on a three-pillar-approach: a) one-to-one tailored specialised services: support from experts to beneficiaries, b) many-to-one peer-to-peer workshops: support from beneficiaries to beneficiaries; b) many-to-many, knowledge transfer and networking actions: knowledge transfer and networking opportunities created for beneficiaries with investors, CE project promoters, and other stakeholders; 4) Replication: distilling lessons learnt and preparing the pathway for future replication through the exploitation key exploitable results: Step-by-Step Guide (K1) for de-risking of future CE investment projects; Policy recommendations (K2) for suitable policies for CE investments across Europe; Circular Investor guide (K3) for increasing investor trust; Community of Practice (K4), a knowledge exchange platform for CE investments promoters; Business cases (K5) to allow the replication of CE solutions and the process of accessing finance; Pipeline of CE investment opportunities (K6) for PDA support after the project.

The process for nanoporous carbon fabrication is already well known as one of the POROUS4APP partner has developed the STARBON® technology at TRL5 which consist of swelling, drying and pyrolysis of natural resources and in this case Starch. What POROUS4APP project will bring to the European community is the development of new metal/metal-oxide doped-nanoporous carbonaceous materials based on a known technology. This technology needs to be upscaled and modified to enable a full flexibility of the material characteristics to be applied to various industrial applications. The use of abundant renewable resources like starch has been proven to be a low cost and reliable raw material source for industrial production of carbonaceous materials having porosity in the nanometer range. In POROUS4APP it will be intended to produce not only carbonaceous nanoporous materials but carbonaceous material with enhanced functionality by using impregnation and sol/gel strategy. This will allow POROUS4APP materials to reach the challenging requirements of state of the art high added value materials at lower cost for applications in energy storage such as lithium-ion battery and also in chemical catalysis process. These applications need materials with well defined porosity to reach high efficiency level of their functional systems.
