It will use innovative tools and structure them practically in two main knowledge hubs, containing user-friendly educational content in 2 main areas of fairer AI-Equality4Tech and Tech4Equality, accompanied by transversal use cases connecting across all project activities.Equality4Tech encompasses: 1.Sector-specific educational kits and Fair AI Scrum methodology for data scientists and AI practitioners and 2. Non-tech stakeholders AI BIAS awareness training.Tech4Equality detects sectional&intersectional bias from a technological point of view. It develops a Recruitment scenario on intersectional bias mitigation and detection to experiment and bring practical knowledge to AI experts and tech-related professionals.8 consortium partners from 6 EU countries – academic/ research institutions create open-source reports, scientific articles, educational materials & lecture series on AI Intersectional fairness and Ethical auditing. DiversiF-AI-R builds a deeper understanding of harms and discriminatory impact of AI-facilitated outcomes on people's lives. It prepares the ground for effectively aligning AI systems’ development with EU values and robust regulation in the field of FAIR AI. VET partner consolidates and disseminates an eco-friendly, fully digitalized AI Intersectional bias educational program to beginner and seasoned AI professionals. The NGO partners craft and deliver AI Bias awareness training for social workers, HRs, policy-builders, and other non-tech stakeholders. DiversiF-AI-R incorporates voices of underprivileged groups. The core vision of popAI is to foster trust in AI for the security domain via increased awareness, ongoing social engagement, consolidating distinct spheres of knowledge (including theoretical & empirical knowledge by academics & non-academics) and offering a unified European view across LEAs, and specialised knowledge outputs (recommendations, roadmaps, etc), while creating an ecosystem that will form the structural basis for a sustainable and inclusive European AI hub for Law Enforcement. popAI approaches the call requirements under a sustainable ecosystem perspective, aiming to create cross disciplinary ecosystem AI-LEA ethics hubs. First, we aim to utilize existing knowledge, but also an extensive set of studies, to identify and record the direct and indirect stakeholders of the "security and AI" setting, as well as their respective points of view (concerns, perceived opportunities, challenges). This recording aims to further delve into the dynamic interactions of these stakeholders and ensure appropriate gender and diversity representation in the participatory processes. This way popAI will tap into the rich knowledge of security practitioners, civil society organisations, and citizens, as well as Social Sciences and Humanities experts, to define appropriate interactions and material (e.g. talks, cross-disciplinary reports, workshops, online resources) that will allow co-creation within the ecosystem. Such interaction will empower a Positive Sum viewpoint when participating in innovation processes related to security and AI (from idea inception, to product development and application).

Digitalization contributes to leverage information sharing, reduce exploitation costs and improve travel experience, but it also blurs the lines between virtual world and reality with serious security matters. In the meanwhile airports face a daily challenge to ensure business continuity and passengers’ safety. SATIE adopts a holistic approach about threat prevention, detection, response and mitigation in the airports, while guaranteeing the protection of critical systems, sensitive data and passengers. Critical assets are usually protected against individual physical or cyber threats, but not against complex scenarios combining both categories of threats. In order to handle it, SATIE develops an interoperable toolkit which improves cyber-physical correlations, forensics investigations and dynamic impact assessment at airports. Having a shared situational awareness, security practitioners and airport managers collaborate more efficiently to the crisis resolution. Emergency procedures can be triggered simultaneously through an alerting system in order to reschedule airside/landside operations, notify first responders, cybersecurity and maintenance teams towards a fast recovery. Innovative solutions will be integrated on a simulation platform in order to improve their interoperability and to validate their efficiency. Three demonstrations will be conducted at different corners of Europe (Croatia, Italy and Greece) in order to evaluate the solutions in operational conditions (TRL≥7). Results and best practises will be widely disseminated to the scientific community, standardization bodies, security stakeholders and the aeronautic community. Finally, SATIE paves the way to a new generation of Security Operation Centre that will be included in a comprehensive airport security policy.

Innovative mining technologies, research and education are required through bridging of business, research, and education, to enable a sustainable, efficient, and successful mining industry now and in the future. MASTERMINE proposes a structural multilevel change for the mining operations, focusing on the top-down axis of Culture, Strategy and Tactics. Culture refers to the intrinsic change for the EU mines, to understand the value of digitalization and environmental sustainability We address the Strategy pillar for the mine, by designing high-level modules that address real industrial challenges. We lead the digital transformation of mines through CYBERMINE, we foster autonomous and electric operations along with smart monitoring and maintenance through AUTOMINE, we ensure safety and stability in critical structures using GEOMINE, in GREENMINE we enhance the environmental sustainability of the mines by improving energy consumption, air quality and GHG emissions, water savings and waste valorisation. In METAMINE, we build a virtual world for the EU mines, introducing the concept of the mining metaverse hosting all the technologies, along with Digital Twins and Business Intelligence to provide simulation and decision support. Finally, we make the EU mine OURMINE, by bringing the communities together, build trust around the sustainability compliance of the raw material and fostering social innovation. We are going to demonstrate our approach in 5 EU demo cases and one replication demo in South Africa. Our mining partners offer access to a total of 11 mines around Europe, producing 10 different raw materials, including 5 CRMs (Cobalt, Tungsten, Coking Coal, Phophate Rock and Platinum).
