<< Objectives >>Youth-REC responds to the European Youth Strategy: to engage, connect, and empower youth. It aims to combat low and falling rates of engagement and participation in civic society, and trust in democratic structure, while capitalising on the promise of creative methods for engaging youth. Thus, the project will develop and use innovative creative methods in storytelling, filmmaking, and graphic design to improve the skills of youth workers and engage and empower disenfranchised European youth.<< Implementation >>Youth-REC will conduct research and collect best practices to develop a project manual providing guidelines for the use of the project methods for engaging and empowering youth. Youth workers will participate in a training to use these methods effectively, and will conduct workshops at the local level in 7 European countries with disenfranchised and marginalised youth. Finally, a series of events will be held to exhibit the youth's films and launch and promote their campaigns.<< Results >>Youth-REC will develop a manual, with research, best practices, and a workshop guide for youth workers to use to engage and empower disenfranchised youth. From the workshops, youth will produce films on issues personal to them and/or their communities, and accompanying campaigns, including visual brands. These films and campaigns will be available on Youtube and the project website. Finally, events will be held locally and internationally to celebrate the project and promote the campaigns.

The “ENTrepreneurship Experience and Rising PRofessionals In Sustainable Europe” (ENTERPRISE) project aims at implementing collaboration among school staff (teachers, educators, project managers) and professionals in the field of sustainable work start-up at European level in promoting intensive dissemination of newly produced teaching strategies and innovative ideas in the field of entrepreneurial education and sustainability. The four countries involved – Italy, Portugal, Bulgaria, and Norway – show different trends in the EU employment rate of the population aged 20 to 64 (data from 2002 to 2017), as recently published by Eurostat. Italy’s data are well below the EU averages. This is why two participants to this project come from Italy: I.I.S.S. Pio La Torre is coordinating this project with the experienced partner CEIPES supporting the development of IOs and the national dissemination. Data from Portugal and Bulgaria show fluctuating trends, recently in line with the EU average. Norway’s data settle well above the EU average. However, a look at the youth data (population aged 15 to 24) shows an alarming decline for all countries. The high level of diversity of education systems, different promotion of local/regional/national employability and caring of sustainable future in entrepreneurial instruction and work-based learning strategies at secondary school, makes this choice an excellent selection of countries participating the project. Moreover, the variety of languages implies a great influence of achieved results and larger access by European students and teachers. Today, students need to be goal-oriented, creative, and able to solve problems and come up with innovations, in order to be future responsible European citizens and workers. This project will foster in young students the development of specific know-how, linguistic and socio-relational skills necessary for searching or creating job opportunities in a rapidly evolving sustainable Europe. Within this project, professional development will take place through sharing good practices and experiences among teachers, students and experts in the field of entrepreneurship and sustainability at European level. Secondary aims of this project are to develop critical thinking, communication, financial literacy, and very important collaboration skills supporting entrepreneurial education and sustainability. The project will engage a total number of 24 teachers/educators and 48 students in a short-time mobility program (transnational learning, teaching or training activities):1) Short-term joint staff training events (Professional development in entrepreneurial education and sustainability) involving school staff (teachers, educators, administrative personnel). Each school will participate with 4 people and each association with 2, for a 3 day-long mobility. The course will be held in Trondheim in July 2020.2) Short-term exchanges of groups of pupils (Training students on entrepreneurship and sustainability for a duration of 5 days - travel excluded): 8 students with 2 accompanying teachers (10 people) for each school should participate in this exchange program in the three schools:a) Thora Storm videregående Skole, Trondheim, Norway (10 participants from Portugal + 10 participants from Italy), in September2020.b) Recursos Futuros, Lisbon, Portugal (10 participants from Italy + 10 participants from Norway), in October 2020.c) IISS Pio La Torre, Palermo, Italy (10 participants from Portugal + 10 participants from Norway), in November 2020.The project will develop the following intellectual outputs:- IO1: Collection of open educational resources in the field of sustainability and youth entrepreneurship.- IO2: Development of learning paths for teachers and students training in sustainability and entrepreneurial education.- IO3: Pilot study on student learning in entrepreneurship and sustainability.- IO4: E-learning platform in the field of entrepreneurial education and sustainability. The short-time mobility program and the development of IOs will mutually support each other. In particular, the first two IOs will support the activities to be carried out during the short-time mobility program. The experience collected by the teachers will be fundamental into the definition and achievement of the IO3 and for finalizing the IO4. The project will support transnational meetings and one multiplier event for each partner.Long term benefits: The project will extend the training to all interested people from other countries by means of an e-learning platform (IO4) on the topics outlined above freely available on the internet. Our objectives involve events and activities that will continue after the project, such as those events organized in conjunction with NGOs and local industries. Moreover, we would like to continue using the products and results of the project as a basis for future activities and as learning materials for students of other courses.

<< Background >>The context from which the idea for the project EupTrain emerged, came from common identified needs of European organizations in the field of adult education in terms of personnel development. Trainers of low-skilled adults (EQF level 1&2) are confronted with various issues working with this target group across Europe. This was identified through a series of surveys which were developed and conducted in the participating educational organizations and was based on qualitative interviews. The interviewees were qualified trainers of low skilled adults, who shared their experiences working with this target group in terms of their daily personal and professional struggles they experience during the training. From this a questionnaire was developed and completed by 85 trainers for adult education (working in the partner organizations) in order to assess the situation in the participating countries. The questionnaire results showed the need for transnational knowledge exchange of methods especially suitable for the group of low-skilled adults as for example in terms of group dynamics or conflict management.<< Objectives >>The objective of EUpTrain was to create a transnational network between Austria, Hungary, Bulgaria, Italy, Portugal, Greece and Romania in order to share Europe-wide knowledge between organizations specialized in adult education through exchange of experts and the development of a sustainable handbook comprising transnational good practices and methods for trainers working with low-skilled adults. The target group of this project were trainers of low-skilled adults, with at least 2 years of working experience (certified language trainers AND a) trainers in adult education OR b) trainers in cultural integration and orientation OR c) trainers for basic skills). EUpTrain implementation was carried out in a spirit of professionalism, open communication and trust between partners, with a strong commitment to cooperation, knowledge-exchange, well-defined roles and responsibilities related to the division of tasks. All requirements for monitoring, evaluation and feedback were taken care of to ensure the quality of the final results and partnership.<< Implementation >>EUpTrain activities included:= 3 transnational project meetings (first 1 online due to COVID 19, 2 on site) attended by a total of 23 experts (up to 15 trainers (possible as it was online) and 8 project managers)= one knowledge exchange workshop with the main goal to filter out examples of good practices from all participating organizations and to show international differences, new opportunities, new ways of work and different methodologies in training of low-skilled adults (19 trainers and 8 project managers with pedagogical background)= based on the workshop results: creation of a handbook (translated to all partner languages and English) containing 16 best practices, 2 from each country, and 8 methodologies<< Results >>The results of EUpTrain are a 40-page long handbook (translated into 8 languages, 7 national languages and English) containing the results of knowledge-exchange activities, specifically a collection of concrete examples of international best practice examples and methodologies for trainers working with low-skilled adults. This varied collection of best practices and methodologies is making the project results valuable for other European countries as well. The handbook is accessible online and free of charge for all partners and other organizations. Through the dissemination of the handbook, trainers who work with low-skilled adults in all of Europe who are not participating in this project, also benefit from the project results and are be able to increase their knowledge and expertise. Additionally, the creation of a transnational network between the partner organizations ensures the sustainability of the project results. The overall aim of the project was to promote networking and synergy-creation on European level and to increase the knowledge exchange and the collaboration of trainers working with low-skilled adults and of organizations in the field of adult education in Europe. The mid-term impact was to establish synergies and to build bridges between these different organizations with the resulting long-term impact to contribute in this way to increase the education level and therefore lower the unemployment rates of low-skilled adults in Europe.

The cause of Inclusive Education has been promoted for some time, recently through the UN’s Sustainable Development Goal 4: to ‘ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all’. Artificial intelligence and related technologies have become important components of the digital economy and affect core areas of our increasingly technologically networked lives. In addition, the EU JRC for Science Policy Report (2019)’ The Impact of Artificial Intelligence on Learning, Teaching, and Education’ “suggests that in the next years AI will change learning, teaching, and education.”The INCAI project aims to examine the ways specific AI technology can support diverse learners and how AI is used in particular in the context of Adult Education to provide a more inclusive and flexible learning environment. Educators from partner organisations will link with ICT/AI specialist organisations in their country and work with a specific target groups of disadvantaged learners and co – produce a wireframe plan for a piece of AI technology which would meet specific needs of that target group. In doing this it will improve the skills and competencies of the adult educators and provide them with innovative learning methodologies to make their services more inclusive as well as the competencies knowledge and insight of disadvantaged learners and knowledge and skills of AI professionals and social partners. The meetings will be used for a mixture of general management and administration and sharing of learning and exchange of current good practice and a visit to the local AI specialist along with representatives of the target group. Each meeting will address a different theme of AI and Inclusion. Introduction to AI in EducationIntroduction to AI wireframesNew innovations in AIAI and social inclusionFuture developments in AIThere will be two Learning events which will produce the main outputs of guidelines on developing AI wireframes and sustainability plans for AI wireframes produced at local level on each partner country. Both GRALE 2015 (Global Report on Adult Learning and Education) and the European Agenda highlights the importance of addressing certain target groups. These are precisely the target groups which are represented by the partners in this project: migrants; seniors, people with disabilities and mental health, low skilled people, non-native speakers, LGBTQ and BME communities and ex-offenders. members of deprived communities experiencing poverty and social exclusion. The overall aim of the project is to produce a more effective educational experience for adult learners in the contexts mentioned through effective strategies focused on improving the inclusion of adults from marginal, vulnerable and disadvantaged groups. objectives are: -To compare, share and identify and promote good practice that can enhance the inclusion of adults from disadvantaged groups in education and learning. -To enhance the provision of good quality learning opportunities to adult’s learners in particular those from excluded groups-To contribute to social inclusion in education across the EU using AI-To develop and broaden the competences of adult education providers and organisations working with adult learners from excluded groups-To demonstrate the significant role AI technology can play in improving inclusion in learning in current practices across EU-To present identified best practices and develop guidelines on how to prepare AI wireframes. -To drive social change and contribute to future development of inclusive AI in education by producing sustainability plans for inclusive AI tools co-produced in partner countries across the EU and by providing local, regional, national and EU level dissemination activities This will lead to :-increased inclusion of adult learners-increased ICT skills and competences for adult learners-increased competences and skills for educators in partner organisations-increased capacity of partner organisations to serve adult learners from disadvantaged groups. There will be 6 transnational Partnership Meetings and 2 Learning events and 1 transnational meeting with 146 participants from 8 partners. in addition to local participants and stakeholders who attend these events and who participate in local activities. The transnational dimension is imperative in this project, contributions from different EU partners across Europe will enable learning, sharing of good practices and a wide dissemination. "The project ”Book of life – Write your own bestseller” is a strategic partnership project hat aims to achieve transnational and cross-sectoral cooperation in order to develop, test and implement innovative non-formal methods of working with young adults, through a combination of expressive techniques, in order to increase their involvement in community life, to motivate them to become the architects of their own lives and to teach them how to gain independence to build a healthy lifestyle, from a personal and a professional point of view. The specific objectives that meet the general purpose are:O1. Increasing the capacity of young people to reach the planning and implementation of a healthy lifestyle (physically, mentally, emotionally and relationally) through the use of innovative expressive tools in the process of personal and professional development.O2. Increasing the quality of non-formal activities in the youth field by elaborating, testing and disseminating a toolkit for personal and professional development for young people, as well as an integrated intervention program that youth workers can use to develop the decision-making capacity of young people for an independent and fulfilled life.O3. Increasing the organizational capacity of 5 European youth organizations, to use non-formal tools focused on the personal development of young people and to create sustainable working methodologies in the youth field. The main issues from which the development of this project started was the increased age of young adults in launching later in independent life (over 28 years old, according to the latest Eurostat statistics) and with more and more problems related to the incidence of unemployment (15.2%), professional frustrations and re-professionalization after the age of 30 (for example, within the coordinating organization, Gamma Institute, over 50% of the trainees in psychotherapy are over 35 years old and come to classes as a re-professionalization after practicing professions that did not bring them personal satisfaction, besides financial security), the incidence of anxiety disorders and depression among young people (WHO declared that by 2020 the first cause of disabling diseases, the percentage among the young people being an increase - 27%) and the negative influence on the development of the family plan (increasing the marriage age, postponing the birth of the first child). This problem is a global one, not just a European one, and the 5 partner organizations have noticed all these problems in the young adults they work with, and, lately, they have also noticed a decrease in the motivation of the youth workers to remain in the long term in this area, because, often, their efforts to motivate and stimulate young people to follow a healthy lifestyle has no long-term effect. The solution that the partners from this project thought of was to offer a broader perspective on the approach of life in general by young adults, through integrative, expressive tools, to follow their learning style: providing information in an easy way, like tips & tricks for healthy life, a life planner they can use to organize and learn to set some efficient (SMART) goals, a website with integrated resources, where young people can find information from many areas of life (health, education, sports, culture, etc.) and a guide regarding the choice of personal and professional route through sketching and therapeutic metaphor. All of these tools will be included in a toolkit, which will serve as a ""toolkit for life"" that will be available to young people when they want to build and implement their future plans. The personal development toolkit ""The book of Life"" includes a healthy launch manual for independent living, addressed to young people, a booklet with individual worksheets distributed on skills such as financial, time management, resources, management of intense emotions, a life planner (agenda type), and a third part that includes an 18-hour personal development program, which can be implemented by youth workers and a web platform with resources for youth and youth workers, with information and guidance for implementing a healthy lifestyle, physically, mentally, emotionally and relationally."
