This project is imparting knowledge among young people from the partner organizations in Germany, Poland, Kenya and Malawi. It is looking at every day’s food choices as having impacts on the environment yet among many, less attention is given to the growing problem. As the population of the world is growing, so is the demand for food forcing agricultural companies and individual farmers to produce enough through consistent monoculture and other practices that deplete the soil of its nutrients. As a result, the heavy use of pesticides and fertilizers which affect the environment is adopted. Nevertheless, the use of fertilizers only simplify the biochemistry of the soil making the produced food less nutritious. Moreover, plants cured with pesticides seldom yield their own phytochemicals and biologically active compounds that protect them from pests despite their benefit to humans. Large ruminant animals which also produce foods high on the food chain feed on plants grown under the use of fertilizers which finally causes both land and water pollution. Mostly, the land that these animals graze on is vast with great emissions from the converted forestland leading to methane production from their digestion and manure. As such, the partner organizations through this project aim at increasing awareness on food choices impacting the environment. The idea is to inspire stakeholders to better understand the multiple environmental consequences of their food production and choices. It is also about a holistic approach to sustaining the environment while preparing young people to make informed choices as they take active roles in their societies.Further, the project seeks to enhance awareness on food choices, positive behavior change and social mobilization in order to help set a positive view of daily environmental actions. It also wishes to increase youth exposure to various cultures, traditions and beliefs for transformed food choices through international youth exchange programs. This will advance participants' awareness and understanding of other cultures while simultaneously build networks of international contacts that will aid active participation in society and development of a sense of identity and citizenship among the youth. The project also desires to increase access to diversified food choices for enhance environmental rehabilitation through food selection, production and preparation while creating entrepreneurship skills. Finally, the partner organizations look forward to having responsible youth minding their daily food choices while protecting the environment. Although it is unrealistic to expect most of the world’s population to turn into vegetarians overnight, awareness of a positive environmental impact could help transform communities.

Five organisations from Poland, Estonia, Malta, Greece and Italy created consortium with the aim to contribute to the objectives of the Erasmus+ Programme through development and reinforcing network, increasing capacity to operate at transnational level, share and confront ideas, practices and methods. Coordinator was Fundacja Euro-Form (Poland).Partners shared best practices and enhanced the professional development of educators working in the field of adult education. For the purpose to fulfilling these objectives, the project team sustained the creation of flexible learning pathways in line with learners' needs. The project aspired to contribute to Europe 2020 objectives of competitiveness, employment and growth through more successful labour market integration and mobility. By developing skills in media literacy the project also tackled the issue of unemployment in EU. The specific objectives of this project were to support improvement of the level of key competences and skills of adult educators, those who worked with learners with fewer opportunities. All project partners acquired various media and multi-media abilities applicable to a wide variety of issues. Participants exposed to technology tools that were embedded in purposeful learning, allowing them to transfer knowledge from one tool to another. Educators had the opportunity to improve their competences in planning and running media workshops. Intensification of learning mobility opportunities in this project fortified ties between the field of adult non-formal education and formal education where their learners gained new media competences. The objectives were clearly defined, and addressed issues relevant to the participating organisations and target groups - educators and their adult learners. The proposal has been suitable of realizing synergies between various institutions, by building the capacity of organisations. Work in culturally diverse groups developed solidarity and foster mutual understanding between partners, therefore promoted international cooperation in the field of adult education, reinforced international networking by sharing best practices and capacity building activities, upgraded existing ICT learning, media and multi-media knowledge, acquired new instruments of teaching for adult learners basic key competences and particularly media literacy. Three international meetings in Italy, Malta and Poland and one training course in Greece in combination with local activities were complementary for exchange of best practices and learning from each other. As the one of the main results of this project were intangible, the knowledge, skills, attitudes have been measured by self-assessment mechanisms, interviews and questionnaires. Self-assessment forms were used before and after the training for staff members. They helped to evaluate achievements and generated recommendations for future improvements of project activities. This information was shared with all partners. Questionnaires were used to evaluate project activities and the whole project. Quantitative indicators were used in relation to numbers of participants in different project activities, numbers of meetings with key stakeholders, number of visits to the project Facebook page and number of media coverage (articles, newsletters, press releases, interviews, visibility in social media etc). Qualitative indicators were used in relation to the quality of the participation and experience, they were based on the answers to questions, interviews with project participants and other stakeholders. The established pluralistic evaluation format also included project documents, interviews and the final report of the whole project. This assessment approaches brought valuable insights that were used to improve programs locally and more broadly. The impact of project have been seen through a variety of specially designed activities, the participants definitely managed to develop their competences on the field of media literacy, both theoretically and practically. During the training course participants come up with entirely new competences, whilst they had the chance to get through a feedback, a procedure which enabled them to detect both their advantages and weaknesses, thus being fully-trained and sufficiently prepared for own workshops in media literacy. Project participants acquired useful online materials related to media and social-media and, in parallel through specific activities, they broadened both their contacts and networks."

According to EC in 2020 more than 20% of Europeans will reach age 65 or more. It is believed that in 2050, the elderly will be around 22% of the total population of the world (United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs:https://www.un.org/esa/population/publications/longrange2/WorldPop2300final.pdf).Project partners from six organisations: Poland, Estonia, France, Italy and Turkey analysed situations in own countries and found out that many seniors do not use Internet mostly because do not have technical skills and competences. It is difficult for this target group to use all opportunities and advantages of 21st century. They need assistant and consultants who can teach in proper way.But even those who use Internet have problems with understanding what they read, watch and listen. It is very important to teach/train seniors in critical thinking, so they can analyse texts and video. To teach/train seniors it is very important to have educated staff/educators who know specific of adult education.Extending and developing the competences of educators and other personnel who support adult learners is one of priorities of Erasmus+ Programme and also of this project. To organise workshops in critical thinking on local level, partners decided first of all collect good practices about critical thinking, test them and create Toolkit which will be used for daily work in adult education in partners’ and other organisations. The specific objectives of this project are:• to exchange good practices about aging and critical thinking that can be transferred to various contexts of adult education;• to give staff members/educators the ability to build knowledge, skills and attitude based on critical thinking;• to support the professional development of those who work in education and training;• to promote non-formal learning and cooperation in the field of adult education in EU countries. The main target group in this project is staff members/educators from partners’ organisations. The final beneficiaries are seniors–adult learners, including learners of various literacy levels and educational backgrounds. Special target group will be women in age 50+. Project will tackle also different organisations and institutions who work with seniors. There will be tangible and intangible results. Intangible results:- exchange of good practices and experience among staff at international level; - acquisition of new skills for educators from the partners' organisations; - enhanced intercultural competences for the staff and learners;- lifelong learning network of partners and other stakeholders involved in the project at local, national and European level; - increased EU project management competencies.Tangible results:- Toolkit with methodological and pedagogical materials for educators;- video about the training;- promotional materials (project logo, leaflet, information for social media-Facebook page, etc.). The impact of the project first of all will be seen on people. Participants directly involved in the project activities will reinforce professional skills in adult education with focus on critical thinking. Thus, they will, in turn, improve the quality of their teaching/training adult learners with whom they interact. They will also improve their digital/ICT/computing and linguistic skills, media literacy skills, increasing their ability to work in international settings.Adult learners as final beneficiaries will learn how to read/listen/watch with critical eye, how to analyse and check credibility of information, its sources, authors and distributors. They will develop their ICT skills and learn how to work with modern gadgets and search information in the Internet. They will improve soft skills (communication with each other, intergeneration communication, teambuilding, etc.).They will learn about Erasmus+ Programme opportunities and possibilities for international cooperation. As a result, adult learners will be more self-confident and prepared for challenges of 21st century.Associated partners and other stakeholders in adult education that will attend local and dissemination activities will benefit from the information provided by direct project participants and will be able to continue networking with project partners and other organisations in different educational fields. The sustainability of the partnership and the potential longer term benefits of this project will be seen on group of skilled adult educators who are able to understand and train adult learners and particularly elderly people in critical thinking; collection of good practice; Toolkit with methodological and pedagogical materials; video with training course; strong networks on local, national and European levels; alliances for further cooperation and new project.
