<< Objectives >>The aim of the project is to strengthen students' civic competencies - awareness of common values, respect for other people's beliefs, empathy for the needs of others, the ability to take an attitude towards unfair treatment and oppression and finally motivation to proactively act and cooperate. Thanks to the cooperation with the foreign partner, the pupils will have the opportunity to look at these issues from a broader perspective, to perceive wide attitudes, to develop key and language skills<< Implementation >>Implementation of 4 project weeks - 2 weeks will take place at home schools, the next two project weeks will be implemented as exchange stays at Lab School Paris and Labyrinth. Pupils and teachers from both schools and external collaborators will participate in the project weeks. Teachers will create a methodology for the project, students with teachers will create a publication with specific outputs from the project. A scientific article will be published by teachers.<< Results >>Verification of effective tools for active partcipation of children, for their motivation, communication, cooperation and active participation. Creating conditions / environment in which it is completely natural to lead debates, show initiative, perceive the needs of oneself and the environment, responsibility not only for oneself but also for the community. "The project is based on the assumption that (in addition to everyday forms of school development and continued efforts by academic education science to conduct empirical research on schools and lessons) there is always a need to develop, evaluate and implement school innovations in multi-professional teams directly on site – and this in particular with regard to questions of dealing with heterogeneity in the primary school sector. Consequently, the project focuses on so-called ""Laboratory Schools"" (in short: ""Lab Schools""): systematic cooperation between universities and schools, which – in the tradition of John Dewey – on the one hand consciously aim at a democratic education of their pupils and on the other hand strive for a closer connection between school practice and university research.The project ""LabSchoolsEurope: Participatory Research for Democratic Education"" pursues several closely related objectives in this sense: During the course of the project, it is planned a) to develop and evaluate democratic pedagogical innovations for dealing with heterogeneity at primary level by producing multilingual practice guides, teaching materials and best-practice examples and to make them available to a broader public, b) to document and analyse the various research approaches and organisational framework conditions of the participating Laboratory Schools in an international comparison and to further develop them in the sense of a comparative system of participatory school research, c) to train and professionalise the teachers and scientists involved methodologically and pedagogically, d) to sustainably improve the school and teaching practice of the participating institutions from a democratic and pedagogical point of view, e) to strengthen and consolidate the cooperation between school and university already practised at the various locations, and f) to establish a European-wide lab-school network which promotes exchange among the participating institutions as well as with non-European partners and at the same time forms a starting point for the support of future lab-school foundations.For this reason, universities and schools at a total of five locations (Bielefeld, Cambridge, Paris, Vienna, Brno) and in just as many countries are involved in the project. The following universities are participating in the project: the Bielefeld University (Germany), the École des hautes études en sciences sociales (France), the University College of Teacher Education Vienna (Austria) and the Masarykova University (Czech Republic). The school partners are: the Laborschule Bielefeld (Germany), the University of Cambridge Primary School (United Kingdom), the Lab School Paris (France), the Praxisvolksschule Wien (Austria) and the laboratorní škola ""Labyrinth"" (Czech Republic)."

The School EducatioN for Sustainable and Equal Inclusion project will develop a module for Initial Teacher Training and a hybrid International Continued Professional Development course that help in- and pre-service teachers acquire the competences needed to differentiate and scaffold their lessons so as to make the (history) classroom experience more meaningful, motivating, and inclusive for all students. In doing so, it pursues the following objectives: (1) To create a wide and reliable network of (history and citizenship) teachers that can support the needs of its members by collaboratively working toward innovative solutions, ultimately strengthening the profile of teaching professionals and increasing the opportunities for cross-border cooperation; (2) To produce tailored training programmes for (history) teachers, providing pre- and in-service teachers with innovative and adaptable teaching methods that will increase their confidence to cater to students’ individual needs; (3) To upscale existing methods and approaches that make history education accessible and meaningful to all, making sure that they can be applied in different contexts and that new teaching approaches build on the success of pre-existing ones; (4) To create a transferable model on the development of hybrid continued professional development courses that can be used in the future to promote courses on multiple subjects.
