"Action-oriented Further Training at the WorkplaceCONTEXTThe still increasing demand of companies for a continuous and dynamic competence development requires offers which are company-specific, flexible in time and scope and close to the real work situation. Important approaches for this are:1) Action-oriented learning with the principle of ""complete action"", which includes planning, preparation, implementation, result checking and evaluation as well as process reflection.2. agile approaches in further education (""agile learning"") for dynamic environments with the processing of real practical tasks in short learning stages with feedback loops, reflection and correction possibilities as well as learning guidance by didactically and technically trained coaches.Job-integrated further training offers require so far a longer preliminary run and from the enterprises often internal efforts. However, companies want training measures that can start without a long lead time and are aimed at clear results. Action-oriented further training must therefore be designed in such a way that it retains its pedagogical, subject-related and process-optimising advantages and at the same time provides direct operational benefits from the very beginning. GOALS / EXPECTED RESULTS- Development of a practice-oriented combination of the approaches ""action-oriented learning"" and ""agile learning"" for continuing vocational education and training - Workplace-integrated learning in the company, involving the trainers / instructors / instructors / superiors- Orientation towards direct applicability in companies by creating immediate benefits - without lengthy lead times. - Supplementation by a strategy that allows ""expansion while the vehicle is in motion"" and takes into account developments in the organisation as well as the qualification of in-company training staff.- An externally recognisable valorisation, e.g. through recognised certificates. All in all: the creation of a procedural standard to which training providers can orient themselves. TARGET GROUP- Further training coordinators in companies who apply the didactic concept in their work - Small and medium-sized enterprises, companies with little training experience, start-ups that apply the didactic concept in their work in the company. - Continuing education institutions that pass on the didactic concept to companies in a sustainable manner ACTIVITIESStage 1: Preparation of a practical report ""Action-oriented and agile learning in continuing vocational training"" and of case studies on “action-oriented and agile learning in enterprises"".Stage two: Preparation of a method book for the didactic and pedagogical implementation of action-oriented/agile learning at the workplace, a framework curriculum for continuing education coordinators and a guide for companies, which clearly explains the basics, potentials and requirements of the approach.Stage 3Development of a course design for an exemplary pilot course for trainers in the technical focus ""Renewable Energy: Environment and Buildings"", processing and dissemination in a learning activitySummary in a handbook "" Action-oriented/agile learning in continuing vocational training "", with which companies can work independently or purchase continuing vocational training in a targeted manner and which enables continuing vocational training providers to internationalise their offerings at the highest methodological level.A total of 7 transnational project meetings will be held in parallel. The dissemination is mainly aimed at: (1) Training companies: Developers of concepts and lecturers(2) Company: Training coordinators, management and personnel departments, in SMEs also direct owners/managers and trainers (3) Universities: academic staff of the relevant departments, institutes for continuing training (4) the level of quasi-state, state and EU-wide promotion and development of education. Longer-term benefits:The aim is that, in the longer term, different offers will be made by different training providers for workplace-integrated further training, which will enable participants to develop competences appropriate to their specific needs."

In order to implement the EPBD systematically and thereby reach the EU's energy and climate targets, building owners, constructors and municipalities should be aware of how energy saving measures have to be planned, applied and monitored. The buildings being built or renovated now, are the building stock of the future. Therefore, it is important to pay attention to the quality of work on construction site. Construction errors are responsible for most of poor energy performance of buildings in practice. Reasons for this are often lack of awareness of workers on construction sites making relevant parts of the building envelope or the HVAC systems regarding the complexity of nearly zero emission buildings. This is because of the very limited availability of further education in the construction sector in many countries around Europe especially with the focus on mutual recognition. Furthermore, actual offered courses in the building sector do not cover topics like cross craft understanding, lifelong service approaches, continuous controlling and monitoring or BIM-tools which are very important for the construction and maintenance of nZEBs. In addition, quality control also lacks in many cases. NEWCOM addresses challenges of raising building quality that supervisory authorities are facing today in order to achieve the European and national climate protection targets for 2020 and the implementation of the nearly zero-energy buildings standards. NEWCOM focuses on the development of missing qualification and certification schemes for blue collar workers and building professionals who inspect and control the most relevant qualities with a specific focus on mutual recognition. By the project “NEWCOM” the number of blue collar workers and building inspectors with special nZEB competence will be increased, the quality of buildings (focus energy efficiency) raised and the market recognition of well-skilled professionals across the building sector in European market boosted.

Vienna has set itself ambitious targets in its Smart City Framework Strategy. To achieve those targets, efforts must be increased considerably. With a large share of multi-storey buildings and the highest share of large buildings from before 1919, Vienna’s building stock differs significantly from those of the other Austrian provinces and calls for specifically targeted strategies and actions. RenoBooster – the Smart Renovation Hub Vienna proposes a tailored and timely answer to this challenge. It is the joint effort of renowned institutional, technical and social expertise led by the City of Vienna, to create an attractive offer - One-Stop-Shop - for the Viennese private home owners and their building managers built on existing services. The project is designed as comprehensive participatory process, involving the key stakeholders in Vienna and thus laying the ground for stable local partnerships for renovation. Substantial support has already been achieved in preparation of the proposal. The project combines new consulting services, banking and finance instruments, targeted subsidies, communication formats as well as technical and legal framework conditions into integrated services. Careful market segmentation and target-group specific communication will support the development and thorough testing of a number of new packages – including topics like efficient technologies, renewable energy and energy poverty. Quality assurance to support home owners in achieving the expected energy savings will be the essential element. In the first 5 years of the Smart Renovation Hub Vienna the new integrated services are expected to lead to an increase of the renovation rate and quality, triggering at least 110 mio € investments, 5.5 GWh/a of primary energy savings and a reduction of 1000t of CO2 emissions/a. Moreover, RenoBooster is expected to create a positive dynamic going beyond this project and stimulate further energy-efficient renovation initiatives.
