"CASVISITS SCOOLSThis project is striving to improve the capacities of youth workers - streetworkers and thus increase the quality of youth work in 6 member states of the EU. It is devoted to supporting cooperation among streetworkers on international level, exchange of good practice, sharing and confronting ideas, practices and methods in the field of COOPERATION OF SCHOOLS AND STREETWORK. Streetworkers often work with children who are leaving the formal education system too early (they do not finish the elementary school, or they are not qualified, NEETs). The specific partnership of this project will provide inspiration - how can we work with this group of youngsters, how to help them get back to the ""system"", job market, get qualification. The aim is to foster the European objective of promoting high-quality youth work with marginalized youth (or vulnerable youth, youth with fewer opportunities) and professionalization of youth - street - workers. The project partners, all working with a special method of youthwork - streetwork - will focus on sharing good practice regarding cooperation of schools (formal education) and streetwork (informal education).Sharing of good practice will be done via method of short, but intense and detailed reciprocal study visits of project partners from the Czech Republic, Slovenia, the Netherlands, Germany, Estonia and Finland. All project partners are joining together large numbers of outreach workers in their countries. Eg. Czech Streetwork Association (CAS), the applicant, joins together more than 90 outreach work organizations from all over the Czech Republic.A collection of professional reports from the study visits will be produced to allow as many interested stakeholders as possible to gain good practice and experience from this series of study visits."

'The c.i.p.h.e.r.' (The community international progressing hip hop evolutions & revolutions) is a yearlong program and a lifelong network for youth between 13 and 30 years old that facilitates an international Hip Hop cultural dialogue to create a community of engaged artists who represent and honor the roots, elements and true purpose of Hip Hop to bring about societal change. In September 2015 ‘The c.i.p.h.e.r.’ was kicked off by The c.i.p.h.e.r. crew (Belgium), Vzw AjKo (Belgium), ‘A school called tribe’ team of Caleidoscopia vzw (Belgium), Aight (The Netherlands) and Gangway e.V. (Germany). Why? Taking up responsibility and accountability as an artist, active agent for societal change and representative of Hip Hop culture, this is what The c.i.p.h.e.r is about. It combats the indifference and divide of our society with awareness, articulation and action. Meeting youth where they are at, using Hip Hop culture and pedagogy, which is at the core of our project. Hip Hop pedagogy is a youth-centered approach that engages youth to study and read, to develop critical thinking, to understand their environment and how it influences what they think of others and how they act. It motivates them to take up responsibility as an artist and representative of the Hip-Hop culture on societal topics that are important to them and their communities. What? From September 2015 until the end of June 2016, about 20 to 25 youth from different countries and cities collaborated virtually during 2 workshops per month (with the exception of holiday periods). They created original music and videos on topics that matter to them and their community (identity, creativity & experimentation, social justice, unity & collaboration, education). Each partner & group of participants worked together with another partner & group of participants for 2 months (+/- 4 workshops), after which the collaborations rotated to make sure all groups had the chance to work together. In total we organized 3 transnational project meetings and 38 workshops (with the different partner organizations) during which the youth worked together virtually. We also organized two youth exchanges (2 – 7th of November 2015 in Berlin, 4 – 9th of April in Antwerp). How? Fun, dynamic, youth-lead workshops twice a month and two youth exchanges during the year facilitated the co-creation of art. The workshops included (1) exploration of a societal topic based on research and involvement of guest speakers and local grass roots movements, (2) cross-border virtual meetings with youth from another country or region and (3) time for creation and recording. The topics and partnerships between the groups of youth changed every two months. The youth exchanges gave youth the opportunity to travel, visit/host other youth, perform together and deepen their connection and collaboration. Who? The community is for youth between 13 and 30 years of age who were supported by project mentors and by the project consultant spiritchild (Hip Hop artist and pedagogue from New York, USA) and project coordinator Dorien De Vidts (learning & development professional and singer-songwriter, Belgium)Benefits? It allowed the youth (1) to develop personally, professionally and artistically and get tangible skills (song writing, recording, documenting, communicating, problem solving, organizing), (2) to broaden their network locally, regionally, nationally and internationally and strengthen their ties with their own communities and grass roots movements, and (3) to explore and perform in European cities. It allowed youth workers, mentors and centers (1) to apply Hip Hop pedagogy, a highly effective youth-centered approach, (2) to develop their coaching skills to support youth to lead workshops, grow as an artist and create social change and (3) to stimulate intercultural dialogue and long-term cross-borders collaborations through the unifying culture and pedagogy of Hip Hop.Results? The youth created an album with 12 original songs 'The c.i.p.h.e.r. chapter I: the pioneers', 4 music videos and a documentary together on the following societal topics: identity (our own story, the story of refugees), creativity & experimentation (Hip Hop culture), social justice (poverty & equal rights), unity & collaboration, education. The Share-to-Know Partnership will improve access to learning for young people furthest from the labour market by advancing non-formal education, specifically peer-to-peer learning. This innovative approach is of particular value in engaging individuals at risk of long-term unemployment, for example, those with a negative experience of education and the large numbers of young Europeans who are NEET. The partnership has the following specific objectives:1: to create an online platform for sharing best practice among peer-to-peer education specialists and engage stakeholders from youth work, formal education and employment sectors from across Europe via this platform in order to increase understanding of the effectiveness of peer-to-peer education2: to develop effective and engaging pedagogical methods for structuring employment-related peer-to-peer-learning courses for young people3: to develop effective methods for engaging NEET young people in peer-to-peer-education4: to create the ‘Share-to-Know Network’ of European expert practitioners in peer-to-peer learning in order to support the adoption of effective methods and online open education resources in peer-to-peer learning courses for NEET young people5: to improve impact measurement and evaluation techniques for peer-to-peer education initiatives6: to develop effective recognition/accreditation tools for informal learning achievements The partnership consists of 3 organisations from the formal education, informal education and youth work sectors, with significant expertise in implementing employment-related peer-to-peer courses with NEET young people. In the course of the project, the partnership will come together for 6 transnational meetings featuring expert exchanges between partnership members and external stakeholders on peer-to-peer education methods, youth engagement methods, building partnerships with employers, locally accepted accreditation tools, impact measurement and sustainable business models. During the transnational meetings innovative methods in these areas will be identified and integrated via a real-world prototyping process into the ongoing learning operations of the partners, in order to test and evaluate their transferability and effectiveness. Following an editing and feedback process involving external stakeholders, the evaluation reports on the prototypes will be collated into the peer-to-peer education practitioners manual. Based on the current participants of the partner organisations, it is expected that of the 240 young learners, participating in the prototypes, at least 200 will be NEET. Alongside the prototyping schedule, the partnership will initiate and build up the Share-to-Know Network. During the 6 planned multiplier events, at least 270 representatives of peer-to-peer education practitioners and stakeholders from youth work organisations, informal and formal education providers, education policy makers and employer-representatives from across Europe, and in particular from countries with high youth unemployment and rates of NEET young people, will be engaged. A larger group of European stakeholders will be engaged via the Share-to-Know website, Network-newsletters, social media channels and the 5 webinars during the transnational meetings. The partnership will produce a range of good practice guidance and innovative tools on all areas vital to the implementation of peer-to-peer education with NEET young people. The topics will be the engagement of NEET young people in peer-to-peer education, effective peer-to-peer education methods in employment-related courses, locally accepted accreditation and partnerships with employers, effective impact measurement for peer-to-peer education and a collection of case studies on sustainable business models for peer-to-peer education initiatives. The partnership will also create the online Share-to-Know website as a publishing and networking platform for relevant resources, news, online learning events (webinars) and networking opportunities from the partnership as well as external stakeholders. All engaged stakeholders who are already practicing peer-to-peer education or are interested in engaging with it, will be invited to join the Share-to-Know Network, which will help disseminate good practice, connect stakeholders from across Europe and raise the profile of peer-to-peer education. Expected impacts are an increase in the number of NEET young people engaged in education or training, improved quality of employment-related peer-to-peer education provision for NEET young people, an increase in online and offline peer-to-peer education courses offered for this target group, better networking amongst peer-to-peer education practitioners, heightened awareness and recognition of the peer-to-peer education approach and its accreditation amongst education policy makers, employers and formal education providers.
