In general, the cooperation between the partners was harmonious and we supported each other well. Whether student or teacher, it was an enriching experience for everyone involved. Our primary aim of enhancing the civil competence of our students was realized not only through their hands on experiences while discovering the diversity and coexistence of various EU member countries, but also through the content of our work. The same context/background of our project applies that is mentioned in the ""project summary at application time"" above, hence there is no need to repeat it in this section. The participants were chosen after they had applied to partake in the project. The eligibility criteria was based on age, English fluency, motivation, reliability and good conduct. The acquisition of participants apparently went well with our partner schools, we as the coordinating school experienced some difficulties though. For one, the minimum amount of required students only even apllied for the project. Of these initial participants, several dropped out throughout the timespan of our project (but a few new students also joined the project later on). There were different reasons for this such as leaving school for vocational training, having to take other lessons parallel to out Erasmus time slot, eventual lack of motivation on account of the workload etc. In the end there were only five participants who partook in the whole project. Of those five, two had to leave four months before completing the project because they were involved with their ""Abitur"" exams. This in turn made it impossible to complete our before and after questionnaire, seeing that the data would have been rather insignificant.Apart from that impediment, everything else pretty much went as initially planned. Each school was able to accomodate the participants in host families and all of the scheduled activities took place. The flashmob was misaligned from Portugal to Germany on account of a misunderstanding, but all results and goals were reached nonetheless. The students devised a common website which was phenomenally administered by our Romanian partners. All of the Learning/Teaching/Training activities are documented there and can be accessed at www.online-faceproject.com. To put it briefly, the students learned and taught each other about the foundation and history of the EU, about the specific framework of their respective countries within the EU, about their rights and obligations as EU citizens as well as about the dangers the EU faces despite all of its advantages. Much of our common work is documented in a final outcome in the form of a magazine. Next to their scientific work, the students also had podium discussions with guest speakers from the European Parliament, visited a plenary session in the European Parliament, partook in creative workshops (paintings, T-shirt designs, debates) and even submitted some paintings to a European Art Exhibition in Portugal.Various reports and articles were released by the local press and the flashmob was held in the Mönckebergstraße, Hamburg's main downtown shopping area. The dissemination and impact of our work is considered to be effective and successful by our whole team. Most of our material has been uploaded in the Beneficiary's dashboard and is currently waiting for approval. A few files were unfortunately too big to be uploaded, one of which can be viewed on our website though. Concerning long-term benefits, many of our students found good friends and acquired substantial knowledge about the EU that will undoubtedly benefit them and enable an active participation in current or future social/political happenings. This became apparent in our final evaluation of the project with the students during our last Learning/Teaching/Training activity in Hamburg."

MAJORANA,IES Padre Feijoo,Daugavpils 12.vidusskolaFunder: European Commission Project Code: 2019-1-ES01-KA229-064643Funder Contribution: 128,656 EUR"""Together in our diversity"" is a two-year project that has been conceived to foster collaboration and innovation among four partner schools in different parts of Europe: Spain, Italy, Latvia and Romania. By carrying this project out transnationally we wish to tackle the issue of social inclusion from an European, broader, richer perspective which, no doubt, will make the project outcomes more widely valid and applicable to any other countries of our environment. The project aims at providing an insight into the state of the matter in the four schools, in order to raise awareness among our educators and our students , and thus develop more dynamic and committed learning environments. While tackling social inclusion and students at a disadvantage, our main priority, we will focus on two other major goals:a) develop competence in the English language, with a special attention to oral skillsb) improve the level of digital competence All the partner schools involved in the project bring to the table knowledge and experience in delivering successful school to school European projects and have many links with schools across Europe and outside the EU. IES Padre Feijoo (Spain) is a leading school in implementing programs to care for diversity and will act as coordinator. Our target groups are secondary school students aged 14-17, who will have the opportunity of taking active part in a multilateral project that they would otherwise have no access to, given their particular social, economic or academic disadvantage. Such opportunity will broaden their minds and it will increase their European sense of belonging, preventing racist, intolerant and chauvinistic behaviors. The project is based on the analysis of four main topics both through collaborative work on the eTwinning platform and by means of four short-term group exchanges:1- Migration, ethnicity, minorities.2- Abilities, disabilities, gifted students, specific programs.3- Gender diversity, stereotyped images, sexuality.4- Cultural and linguistic diversity, EU values and challenges.Apart from the exchanges, three staff training events have been planned to offer participating teachers some professional development on areas which are essential to guarantee the success and sustainability of the project: eTwinning, ICT and dissemination strategies. An initial assessment conducted by each of the participating schools has allowed us to identify our needs and set the following goals: 1) To foster social inclusion and to prevent early school dropout among socially disadvantaged students.2) To promote social and civic, digital and intercultural competences as well as foreign language learning.3) To develop the participants' oral skills in English through virtual media and face to face meetings.4) To study from an analytical, critical perspective the issue of social inclusion in several European countries different in their social nature, as well as in language and culture, in order to find common ground among the four partners regarding the social challenges that each of us faces.5) To come up with tools and resources which will enable us to prevent, deal with and solve the problems that our societies and school communities face due to social and ethnic diversity, migration flows and socio-economic differences.6) To encourage the use of eTwinning as an instrument to develop quality projects in education. All sectors of the school community will be represented in the project: students, teachers, social workers, learning support staff, families and local NGOs and agencies. This is a student-centered project, so our students will be the beneficiaries and key actors. As such, they will be involved in all stages of the program: design, development and implementation.Assessment will be coordinated by a joint assessment commission. All through the development of the project we will establish some key stages for evaluation: a) an intermediate and a final evaluation, b) on-site assessment during all staff training events and group exchanges, c) ongoing evaluation of work on eTwinning and d) follow-up meetings by virtual media after each student mobility. Partial evaluations of results and impact conducted on a regular basis will help to make adjustments and introduce improvements as required. The outcomes of the project will be available on a blog linked to the websites of the schools. It will also contain a virtual guide which may be used by other schools and institutions to address social, ethnic, linguistic and cultural diversity. A specific plan of action has been designed for dissemination activities to achieve as wide an impact as possible."

This project will also promote literature produced by minority groups. Through the development of this project, we will also improve students’ creativity. We will try to make our students appreciate Literature as a way to express different traditions. We will analyse the Old Literature to find a common link between all of us, analyse the contribution of foreign writers and the literature produced by women. Our schools are experts on different fields, which will enrich the project. We have decided to cooperate to achieve common objectives: to promote equal opportunitiesthrough literature, to appreciate the contribution of women, refugees and expatriates (who are usually forgotten) in universal literature. Students will also get closer to Old and Modern Languages, in order to reverse the situation by which only a few of students decide to study these subjects at our schools. We aim at motivating students to continue studying after Compulsory Education. We are going to implement new methodologies and creative resources, useful to promote creativity. This is a project addressed to Upper- secondary Students. We include short term exchanges of groups of students, who will cooperate in the different countries to work in key activities to the development of the project. We include 80 mobilities of students during the two years (20 students from each country), and 8 teachers, who will be in care of them during the mobilities. However, we will also engage other members of our staff and students in several competitions or games and other activities. We hope to bring beneficial changes into our school curriculums and lessons and also adapt good practices observed at partner schools. The project will help students to improve their language, ICT and social skills so needed in their future lives. The project is divided into 5 sections:-Old Greek literarature-The Influence of Latin in Western Literature.-Our writers and foreign writers in our regions-Female literature: the role of female writers and female characters-Creative Literature: we will produce creative writing, caligrams, dramas, ephemeries, visits to libraries, meetings with writers, incestations of national tales, reciting competitions, digital comics These topics will allow us to :-learn about the culture of other partners, their most famous writers and works, customs, traditions-learn about integration and equality and focus on strengthening European identity and tolerance and to promote gender’s equalityThrough the direct commitment to the project, we want to increase young people's motivation to learn classic and foreign languages, and to make them use the language in a real context. The project will contribute to increase the internationalisation at our schools and the level and quality of teaching and learning.
