With this partnership we shared experience and knowledge, exploring the potential of non formal approaches in education, specially addressing young ELET (Early Leavers from Education and Training) and NEET (Not in Employment, Education and Training) but also connecting different target groups, disadvantaged low qualified youngsters and young graduates ready to integrate social and educational working places, both groups being mutually beneficial, both struggling for their first experiences for social and professional integration. We believe TIP partnership improved the quality and attractiveness of partners’ activities, developing along the 2 years of the project, a common strategy to create and deliver relevant and usable products that can help teachers and other professionals to extend their professional capacities and to engage as active agents of change in their educational settings. The 3 intellectual outputs that have been developed, a school-based staff training program, a toolkit of non formal creative practices and a documentary story telling film were implemented concurrently in the participating schools, with the necessary support for the introduction of these innovative practices through reflective supervisions with experienced trainers, most of them during the international mobility activities. The innovative practices that proved their potential and efficiency in social educational work addressing early leaving of education and training and attracting adults back to education are now available and easy accessible through the project communication tools, including a dedicated webpage - www.tip-eu.com. The project put a lot of efforts to promote the public awareness on the importance of non formal alternative approaches in social and educational work, addressing marginalized groups, organizing public seminars and trainings in the different countries as well as releasing a web interactive virtual platform for sharing and dissemination of results. Two joint staff training events were a fantastic opportunity for mutual learning between participants from our 5 partner countries. The wider dissemination of the project’s products and findings has been very relevant because of the wide local, national and international networks that the partner organizations are members of.

The Student Film Market was launched at A-category Film Festival – Black Nights Film Festival’s (BNFF) sub-festival PÖFF Shorts in Tallinn, Estonia in 2019. The Student Film Market app was developed in partnership with 4 universities (that have film curricula or curricula closely connected with film), 1 international film festival organization, and 1 international association of film schools (with 170+ member schools), representing 4 countries - Estonia, Bulgaria, France, Portugal. Our project tackled issues specific to film education:•Film schools are seldom able to provide all needed specialties for producing and distributing films. •Film school graduates (who are otherwise ready to go into production with their film projects) lack contacts with the professional film industry, especially on the international level.•The existing international film markets (that provide co-production and funding for professional filmmakers) are designed for film professionals only. The aim of the project was to provide film students the means for presenting their films (portfolio), networking with peers on an international level, establishing contacts with international film industry representatives, finding funding and co-production opportunities.

FilmEU fully represents Europe’s geographical, cultural, and linguistic differences, combined with the diversity and richness of its European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and its Research Area (ERA). WIRE integrates five out of eight academic partners each coming from widening countries, a majority of less research-intensive institutions and is led by an institution from a widening country. All WIRE activities are centered in widening countries, and it is these countries and less research-intensive HEIs that are beneficiaries of the of the project. WIRE’s main objective is to catalyse a step change in the excellence and innovation of the science and value creation activities carried out by and across the FilmEU Alliance via its capacity building and the promotion of several reforms across the HEIs in widening countries participating in the Alliance. WIRE will capacitate the FilmEU Alliance Research and Innovation R&I dimensions, notably by focusing on management and administrative competencies, for the benefit of its members in widening countries, and through that increase the overall competitiveness of the Alliance. WIRE will achieve this through deeper and more geographically inclusive cooperation between all members of the Alliance. WIRE will contribute significantly to the expected outcomes of the call via the consolidation of an inclusive Alliance of HEIs which mostly (5 of 8) come from widening countries. Through collaboration between themselves and with other actors in local ecosystems, they will promote institutional and country-level reforms and upgrades, facilitate an embedded culture of excellence and value creation driven by artistic research, and focus on the cultural and creative industries, in view of increased competitiveness and accelerated institutional reforms in their R&I dimension.

The project aims to advance understanding of the forms, processes, and governance of innovation involving cultural and creative industries (CCIs) located in non-urban areas of Europe and to advance the ability of non-urban CCIs to act as drivers of innovation, competitiveness, and sustainability for the locales in which they are located. IN SITU brings together leading approaches to investigating economic evolution and diversification, a challenge-oriented approach to processes of innovation, non-urban place-based planning and development, and creative industries entrepreneurship to investigate the situation of CCIs in non-urban areas. The project couples this with a pragmatic capacity-building programme to enable CCIs to address some of the key issues of their communities/region and of our time. The core defining aspect of IN SITU is the interlinking of research and practice through place-based IN SITU Labs, hubs for projects in 6 non-urban regions across Europe, located in Portugal, Ireland, Iceland, Finland, Latvia, and Croatia. Involving both Europe-wide research and place-based experimentation, IN SITU will provide an in-depth knowledge of the direct and indirect effects, cross-sectoral connections and spillovers, innovative strategies and systems, and needs of CCI practitioners in non-urban areas. Complementary to this, the project will assess and advance the multi-level innovation and culture policy and planning frameworks that contextualize and can enable this work.
