"Schools for a green future - How can we protect the environment and save resources in our daily life? Together with our project partners we are aware of the fact that our environment is changing dramatically because of pollution and climate change. There might be specific impacts in each country and region but the causes are very similar. In recent times, especially young people have become more and more aware of the problem and the massive threat to their future. As educational institutions, we want to raise awareness for this major challenge of our times. On the other hand, we want to show that we all can contribute and work together on possible practical changes in our daily life and develop our schools so that they might become ""greener"" and a place where you can see that everybody can contribute to a ""green"" future.As the protection of the environment is only to be tackled when we all work together and know about the situation across the borders, an international project is the ideal approach to create awareness for this major challenge which everyone is affected by. We are convinced that the topic of our project is therefore most suitable in order to emphasise the importance of solidarity and cooperation in Europe.Our project wants to explore the possibilities to use environment-friendly facilities in our schools and our daily life. We also want to promote the awareness for our environment and encourage ""green"" behaviour. Therefore we are going to create learning situations by using modern digital media which will enhance the process of digitalisation in education and boost the students' 21st Century Skills. By focussing on concrete topics being relevant to all partners, we want to create teams and projects to work on practical solutions for environmental issues in our daily life - at school and at home.A further aim is the inclusion of socially deprived students, students with learning difficulties and refugees via project based learning and teaching which allows the participation and contribution irrespective of social background, learning abilities and language skills. We also want to promote the European idea by making clear that we can only master the big challenges of our time, e.g. the protection of the environment and climate change, when we all work together on a European level.Six schools from different countries – all of them facing similar challenges and highly motivated to work with a project based approach in their learning and teaching - will participate in this project. Students and teachers involved in the project will reflect the diversity of our schools. We want to involve students of different age groups and aptitude as well as teachers of different fields of study as we aim to reach all members of our institutions and make them benefit from the possibilities offered by an international project.During the project there will be one transnational meeting with teachers and students at each of the participating schools where we will work on the different tasks of the project, e.g. students will explore the environmental situation in our schools/regions/countries. We will have international workshops and projects about particular topics like ""green energy"", ""waste"", ""resources"" etc. using multimedia tools for gathering information, documentation and presentation. Students will develop ideas for practical projects which can be implemented in their respective schools. Teachers will work together on the creation of competence focussed interdisciplinary learning situations related to environmental issues and evaluate their practical use. Students and teachers will visit relevant sites and facilities, e.g. renewable energy plants, recycling facilities etc. Furthermore, there will be a training activity for teachers at the beginning of the project in order to make them familiar with the modern digital tools we are going to use in our work on the project, e.g. learning management systems, eTwinning, web based teaching and learning tools. The project will lead to more awareness and consideration for the environment and emphasise the importance of solidarity and cooperation in Europe among students and teachers. The involved schools will benefit from this project by the implementation of practical projects which will be a step towards a ""green"" school. These practical projects together with work groups started during the project will be developed and expanded so that further generations of students will continue working on an environmental-friendly school and lifestyle.The guideline and the sample learning situations will be long-term and valuable resources as they can always be adapted, enhanced and expanded. The experience with inclusive project based learning supported by modern digital media will benefit students and teachers in the long-term as the skills and knowledge will be shared with other colleagues to make our teaching meet our students' needs and expectations.."

Following the adoption of the Circular Economy Action Plan in 2015, the EU has promoted measures to stimulate the transition towards a circular economy. The adoption of the circular model may be an effective strategy to break the spiral of inefficiencies that seriously damages the natural, economic and social equilibriums of today’s world. In order to overcome the linear economy model in Europe (and beyond), it is necessary to adopt a re-education strategy in the context of a new economic model, where the axis buy-use-dispose-buy-again is disrupted. The new model needs to be transmitted to children and young people and, most importantly, should be included in European school plans. The LOOP project intends to transfer knowledge and competences concerning sustainable development and in particular to current scientific debates around the issues of Circular Economy and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The project aims to, on the one hand, provide students with scientific knowledge and the skills to understand current global issues related to sustainable development. On the other hand, it intends to also stimulate students in learning, developing and sharing conscious behaviours. The project will involve the participation of teachers, students and tutors in the project activities. In particular, the project will involve around 160 students from 5 schools in 3 EU countries and their teachers. Moreover, specialised personnel of FEEM and the University of Zagreb will be dedicated to the tutoring operations and will be selected by the same organisations according to the functions they will have to perform.To reach its goals, the project will support and guide students in the development of a number of activities and outputs under the guidance of appropriately trained teachers and tutors and through the special “Meet&Learn” Platform. The activities will be based on innovative digital technologies specifically designed to stimulate the inclusion of participants and encourage the learning of the relevant project topics and their basic values.The LOOP project intends to adopt a highly innovative didactic approach based on digital and ICT pedagogy. In particular, the project will be based on an original methodology, developed by the partner CivicaMente and called “Open Mind” which uses multimedia tools to guarantee a high degree of learners’ involvement and which promotes the strengthening of soft skills through activities mediated by digital technology.The project will produce the following results: an Online Platform, a virtual learning environment, structured in different levels that will be used as mean of communication, online repository, interactive training provider and a dissemination channel; Teachers and Training Materials, virtual classrooms including learning units for the teachers; Pitch Elevator videos, short video messages presenting the students involved in the project; Report on Flipped Classroom, a methodological and content report in concerning the main results of the performances conducted by the students in the classroom, on the assigned research topic; Research essays (e-books), resulting from the national field research of the students investigating the four “R’s” of the circular economy; Transnational thematic projects on the basis of the e-books already produced during the national research activities; a Report explaining the overall methodology adopted for each phase of the project: from the online platform structure, through the training methodology for students and teachers, to the flipped classroom and national and international working groups. It is expected that the LOOP project will have an impact on all the individuals involved; in particular, the students will improve their linguistic, technological and scientific knowledge on circular economy, and the teachers will dispose of innovative teaching methodologies and key competences on the themes addressed. Starting from the local level, the desirable impact would be the creation of a virtuous cycle that could expand to the regional, national and European levels. A further impact concerns the awareness raising at different levels regarding the importance of turning to a circular economy model based on the principles “Redesign, Reduction, Recycling and Reuse” to promote the achievement of the SDGs of the Agenda 2030.

By proces edukacyjny był atrakcyjny dla odbiorców i satysfakcjonujący dla nauczyciela musi cechować go innowacyjność i kreatywne pomysły. W kontekst ten wpisuje sie opracowany projekt, którego celem jest podniesienie kompetencji zawodowych nauczycieli i innych osób pracujących z dziećmi i młodzieżą w organizacjach edukacyjnych. To także rozwój kompetencji kluczowych uczestników: społecznych, obywatelskich, doskonalenia znajomości języka oraz wykorzystywania technologii informacyjno - komunikacyjnych oraz rozwój beneficjentów pośrednich, odbiorców tych działań tj. dzieci i młodzieży. Projekt jest w szczególności poszukiwaniem nowych, innowacyjnych metod pracy rozwijających kreatywność uczniów/wychowanków, ich inicjatywę i przedsiębiorczość. Projekt realizowany będzie w partnerstwie z 5 organizacjami edukacyjnymi o różnorodnym profilu działalności: lider projektu - Niepubliczny Młodzieżowy Ośrodek Wychowawczy w Węgrzynowie jest placówką edukacyjno-wychowawczą dla młodzieży niedostosowanej społecznie, z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną. Partnerem projektu jest Kuratorium Oświaty w Kielcach, sprawujące nadzór pedagogiczny nad szkołami i placówkami w regionie, dokonujące ewaluacji ich pracy oraz prowadzące działalność wspomagającą szkoły i placówki. Kolejnym partnerem jest szkoła w Rzymie (kształcąca na poziomie podstawowym i gimnazjum), realizująca na co dzień edukację włączającą. Szkoła specjalna w Larnace, na Cyprze zapewnia kompleksowe kształcenie dla dzieci i młodzieży z niepełnosprawnością intelektualną. Średnia szkoła zawodowa w Limassol na Cyprze (technikum) to wieloprofilowe rozwijanie przedsiębiorczości, zdolności uczniów, przygotowywanie ich do przyszłego życia zawodowego. Midberg Leisure Center w Islandii to placówka wieloprofilowa organizująca przed wszystkim zajęcia pozalekcyjne dla dzieci i młodzieży. Różnorodność podmiotów, a co za tym idzie różnorodność doświadczeń jest ogromnym walorem projektu. Wykorzystana w projekcie metodologia polega na zbudowaniu struktury efektywnej realizacji działań w trzech obszarach: zasobów bazowych, kadrowych i osobistych. Spotkania projektowe u lidera i w każdym z krajów partnerskich służyć będą stałemu monitorowaniu postępu w projekcie oraz szczegółowym ustaleniom kolejnych podejmowanych działań. Rezultatem projektu będzie poradnik dla nauczycieli, zawierający pomysły i nowatorskie metody pozwalające rozwijać kreatywność i innowacyjność dzieci i młodzieży. Opracowane zostaną także programy dwóch szkoleń: jednego dotyczącego indywidualizacji pracy z uczniem, drugiego dotyczącego coachingu edukacyjnego wspierającego rozwój dzieci i młodzieży, które zostaną przetestowane przez 102 uczestników projektu, co będzie walidacją ich użyteczności. Opracowany zostanie raport podsumowujący działania w projekcie, zawierający wyniki przeprowadzonej ewaluacji. Zorganizowane zostaną 4 konferencje, prezentujące i upowszechniające rezultaty projektu dla co najmniej 400 osób. Upowszechnianie rezultatów odbywać się będzie także podczas wydarzeń edukacyjnych niewiązanych z projektem, w czasie jego trwania, jak również po zakończeniu realizacji. Za pomocą takich środków przekazu jak Skype, Facebook, platforma e-Twinning. Projekt oddziaływał będzie zarówno na organizacje uczestniczące, jak i na poziomie lokalnym (lokalne organizacje oświatowe, władze, rodzice, organizacje pozarządowe), regionalnym (regionalne władze oświatowe, uczelnie wyższe, placówki doskonalenia nauczycieli, specjalistyczne organizacje, decydenci), krajowym (Ministerstwo Edukacji Narodowej, centralne instytucje oświatowe, parlamentarzyści) oraz europejskim (organizacje edukacyjne i inne w krajach partnerskich). Ponadto, zapewniona zostanie trwałość wypracowanych rezultatów poprzez ich zamieszczenie na stronach internetowych lidera i partnerów projektu oraz na otwartych bezpłatnych portalach zasobów edukacyjnych w poszczególnych krajach. To oddziaływanie długofalowe i wieloaspektowe. Wzrośnie profesjonalizm pracowników organizacji uczestniczących, ich aktywność zawodowa i zaangażowanie, kontynuowana będzie współpraca międzynarodowa i wymiana doświadczeń. Ogromną korzyścią dla wszystkich zainteresowanych rezultatami projektu będzie możliwość korzystania z poradnika i programów szkoleń. Projekt będzie doskonaleniem procesu uczenia sie każdej z organizacji.
