The project is based on the traditions and customs of the peoples and their cultural heritage. In our еra of fast-paced technology, we do not have time to turn back and look at our roots. And they must be preserved and passed on to our children and generations. Through the children we will convey the message that we need to learn more about our cultural heritage, enrich our knowledge and pass it on to future generations. This will be achieved through continuous and varied activities in our schools, which will take place in two years. There will be a variety of exciting and motivational activities that will facilitate the cross-fertilization of ideas and outcomes. Intercultural learning and the promotion of being one group will be focused in our project.Project work involves the use of the foreign language learned in exchanging for predefined tasks, writing events or mailing, and also communicating with each other during joint workshops, including student activities and video conferencing. In addition, teachers will benefit from the project by introducing new methods to their participating teachers during the meetings at the respective partner school in the workshops or after the teaching activities. They will be empowered to incorporate new teaching methods into their future lessons and integrate them into the existing school program. At the same time we believe that the students will be motivated to increase their knowledge and desire for learning a foreign language, particularly English. We think that taking part in such a project will give the teachers and students opportunity to check differences or similarities in the history, geography, economy and social life of each country and to aware students for how important is the education for being a citizen in Europe and for saving our national and cultural heritage. The need to teach our pupils the meanings of tolerance, belief in the dignity of every person, equity and fairness, appreciation and respect of others' cultural identities and perspectives is very important for the safety and inclusion of all individuals and groups.General objective:- to enable the teachers promote team work, learning by discovering and cooperation between European students in order to improve the general attitude towards cultural differences, traditions and customs which would lead to more attractive classes and extracurricular activities, and thus to decrease the dropout rate by at least 5%.Specific objectives are: - to learn about the culture and traditions of other countries, and customs, which will be widely disseminated in the society;- to present the history in a different way, trying to avoid the boundaries of the classroom;- to make the students feel equal to the Europeans;- to improve the ICT and communication skills in order to access to specific information in English language; - to reduce the schools' dropout rates in the communities involved in the project; The project will involve mainly students and teachers from partner schools. The pupils who will participate in the project are aged 14-19. Students' parents will also be involved. There are five secondary schools from five countries which will take part in the project: Bulgaria, Greece, Turkey, Romania and Lithuania. Bulgaria will be the coordinator and responsible for the project management unit. Methodology is clear, we are planning to have disputes, presentations, fact-finding, observations, learning new historical facts, workshops ,role-playing games to represent a tradition or custom, thematic evenings in which each country will present its country, lesson and excursions. There will be 5 mobilities during the project in different countries. During the first and second project years, the teachers will prepare themselves for the workshops and include their students in the planning. The students will visit sights, museums and other interesting facilities corresponding to the project ideas. The participants will explore the school, learn with the other children and visit classes. We will actively use local media - the press and the television to get the public out to the activities and results regularly. Presentations from different schools will be broadcasted on local TV stations and will be invited representatives of the organizations and authorities mentioned above to our short- term staff pieces of training and learning activities. All materials resulting from the project activities will be uploaded to the schools' websites and on the Facebook page of the project. We will be able to reach not only students and teachers who will take part in the Project actively, and will participate in the activities at the partners' schools but also we will be able to reach a wider scope, that involves parents, local people, surrounding schools and the institutions near the neighborhoods so they will have a chance to observe the activities at their own countries and make contributions to them.
