TIP - ”transferring innovative practices in 2nd chance education addressing ELET” has been a strategical partnership project that established a practical learning partnership, as an open collaborative environment, between organizations and practitioners (artists, youth workers, trainers, social workers) active in social and educational work from 5 different European countries (Portugal, UK, Italy, Hungary and Bulgaria), developing processes of networking creative practices in second chance education and social inclusion work. With this partnership we shared experience and knowledge, exploring the potential of non formal approaches in education, specially addressing young ELET (Early Leavers from Education and Training) and NEET (Not in Employment, Education and Training) but also connecting different target groups, disadvantaged low qualified youngsters and young graduates ready to integrate social and educational working places, both groups being mutually beneficial, both struggling for their first experiences for social and professional integration. We believe TIP partnership improved the quality and attractiveness of partners’ activities, developing along the 2 years of the project, a common strategy to create and deliver relevant and usable products that can help teachers and other professionals to extend their professional capacities and to engage as active agents of change in their educational settings. The 3 intellectual outputs that have been developed, a school-based staff training program, a toolkit of non formal creative practices and a documentary story telling film were implemented concurrently in the participating schools, with the necessary support for the introduction of these innovative practices through reflective supervisions with experienced trainers, most of them during the international mobility activities. The innovative practices that proved their potential and efficiency in social educational work addressing early leaving of education and training and attracting adults back to education are now available and easy accessible through the project communication tools, including a dedicated webpage - www.tip-eu.com. The project put a lot of efforts to promote the public awareness on the importance of non formal alternative approaches in social and educational work, addressing marginalized groups, organizing public seminars and trainings in the different countries as well as releasing a web interactive virtual platform for sharing and dissemination of results. Two joint staff training events were a fantastic opportunity for mutual learning between participants from our 5 partner countries. The wider dissemination of the project’s products and findings has been very relevant because of the wide local, national and international networks that the partner organizations are members of.

Our project has been developed in Ciudad Real, although the partner organizations have also been visited to analyse the examples of good practices in situ, in the countries of the partner organizations.Among the objectives are: -> To expand our competences to enhance our improvement, offering a service in favour of social equality by offering an improved service, with an extended knowledge and contrasted with other entities in the European Union. -> To offer to the users the opportunity to improve, by removing the obstacles posed to them at formative and cultural level, which in turn are reflected in a context that is economically and socially disadvantaged.Carried out by: -An analysis of the weaknesses and strengths in: labour integration, training, social care and inclusive leisure. -An analysis seeking solutions to the problems faced by people at risk of social exclusion at international level. The coordinating entity has been Cocemfe Oretania, an NGO whose objective is to unite, strengthen, train and coordinate the efforts and activities in favour of people with physical and functional disabilities to defend their rights and improve their quality of life. This one collaborates in projects of labour integration, formation, leisure and inclusive sport, etcetera; and with this project it pursued to continue expanding their knowledge to be able to give a better quality of service to the beneficiaries. The partner organizations were 1st SENDSC of Thessaloniki (Greece), Rightchallenge (Portugal), World Net (Italy), Phoenix Social Enterprise (United Kingdom). They have experience in national and international projects with young people from different backgrounds, and have interest in the social inclusion of people at risk of social exclusion; they share the philosophy and principles of our entity. The collaborators gathered the professional competences and the necessary qualifications to carry out the proposed action, since they have a wide experience and we have both enriched each other. On the other hand, the social work they develop is based on very different approaches, which has given us points of view and different approaches, reaching an analysis of reality and a search for more complete solutions when carrying out an integrative work of young people with problems of exclusion. The participants have been workers in the field of youth with youth / youth and adults with disabilities and / or at risk of social exclusion. Likewise, during visits and practical analysis, young people with disabilities and / or at risk of social exclusion from the same entities and neighbouring entities have participated in the activities. The development of the information collection and compilation of the analysis has been carried out periodically, by contacting personnel periodically or virtually monthly to carry out a compilation of information. At the end of the compilation of theoretical and practical information, a meeting was held in Spain where we analysed our situation and carried out a search for common solutions. Its dissemination has taken place in conferences in which all entities participated and through the publication on our website of the summary. The result of this collaboration has been the analysis of the entities and work with our users, in the integration of young people and groups at risk of social exclusion to be able to provide improvements; the creation of a network of contacts with common interests for the inclusion of young people at risk of social exclusion; as well as the search for solutions in the observed problem (reflected in the approach of a future common project). With respect to our entity, we have carried out an internal reflection of our weaknesses and strengths in all areas. In relation to the target groups, we would expect an improvement in personal, educational and cultural competences in general, making an advance in the elimination of the obstacles that cause social exclusion. In addition, for users, young people with problems of social inclusion, an improvement in the skills of the entity will mean a benefit that would lead to a sociocultural improvement and even an economic advance for the future. In addition, as an entity in favor of people with disabilities, we would like to implement the lessons learned from collaboration with other European entities and transmit the philosophy of the entity to enable people with disabilities to put into practice the principles of full social participation with the same opportunities, guaranteeing the promotion of rights, autonomy and independent life.

The ability to drive is an aspiration of most young people. It is a skill that not only enhances our social lives but also impacts on our employability either as a direct route into jobs e.g. distribution and logistics or by opening up opportunities to a wider job market through accessibility. To be able to drive legally and safely makes you more employable. However young drivers typically represent between 18% and 30% of all killed drivers, although people in the same age group only represent between 9% and 13% of the total populations in their countries. Traffic crashes are the single greatest killer of 15-24 year-olds in OECD countries and within European countries, among 15-24 year olds, the majority of road fatalities are car occupants (59%) or motorcyclists (19%. Young drivers pose a greater risk than other drivers to themselves, their passengers and other road users, socially and economically excluded young people being highly represented in accident statistics. Research has indicated that inexperienced drivers, particularly young male drivers, tend to fall into the category of high risk threshold drivers. These drivers tend to have a particular set of attitudes that are associated with their lifestyles and driving culture. Risk taking is perceived as a normal part of driving as young people tend to have higher sensation seeking tendencies. This all has a huge economic and social cost on societies Improving traffic safety and reducing crashes and resulting deaths and injuries was a fundamental objective of the E-DRIVERS project as it aimed to address the high levels of young driver risk by taking into account some of the highly complex root causes of the problem which include inexperience, age, gender , physiological and emotional development, personality, social norms and individuals’ socio-economic circumstances. The E-DRIVERS project operated for just 10 months but in its first year the project began by identifying risky behaviours of young drivers and pre-drivers through desk research and primary research resulting in a literature review and needs analysis report,This brought together information on existing practice in 5 countries -Netherlands, UK, Ireland, Romania and Turkey summarised in one report. Additionally each partner produced a 2 page summary of their in-country research on existing practice and needs of the target group.E-DRIVERS also developed a draft learner training programme to be used by young drivers and pre-drivers as well as a draft bank of teaching and learning resources to be used by interventionists such as teachers, youth workers, probation officers. These are available in EnglishThe results of E-DRIVERS will impact on organisations at local and regional level which are responsible for road safety as it raises awareness of existing practice in other countries. Long term benefits will be that organisations which are responsible for road safety, health and welfare and law and justice will have an additional countermeasure to risky behaviour in their portfolio..

The ACCESS of the YOUTH to the workplace is indispensable. Therefore, we give a higher importance to this priority, because we must carry out an inclusion, we must be open and prepared for it, due to the lack of information and / or knowledge we have examples of bad practices not only in our society, but also in our entities and we continue to isolate young people from participation in adapted training and inclusive employment. For this, an analysis of the tools used in the entities will be carried out through questionnaires and examples of good practices and a final report on the tools and methodology applied to promote and manage a good labor inclusion of young people with disabilities or in risk of exclusion.Within the characteristics of the project, there are:SUPPORT FOR EDUCATORS, YOUTH WORKERS, LEADERS AND SUPPORT STAFF: with ANALYSIS and IMPROVEMENT in the functions of the staff working for the educational and labor improvement of young people, we will be able to promote sustainable, informed, effective and, above all, INCLUSIVE entities. With respect to the PROMOTION OF QUALITY, INNOVATION AND THE RECOGNITION OF YOUTH WORK, our work is to create connection and empowerment of young people with disabilities through their active participation in entities to improve their job opportunities. It is necessary because if we want to improve the preparation of our entities to promote youth employment, we must know the appropriate tools to empower them, opening them first the doors of formative and then labor access and making them more active and participating, giving voice The needs of ALL young people. With the collaboration of various countries we can carry out the comparison of skills and results of the tools and employment methodology applied, including preparation for job training, the promotion of innovative methodologies to improve the factor of entities and promote labor relations favorable among young people and entities at local, regional, national and European / international levels. Objectives of this project:• Allow young people to IMPROVE THEIR SKILLS AT WORK, through first-time employment preparation techniques and techniques / tools / methodologies adapted to the diversity of needs that can be observed.• Provide organizations that work for the inclusion of young people with disabilities the opportunity to EXPAND THEIR POINT OF VIEW through other practical visits.• Empower organizations that work with young people to act as ambassadors for their own country by imparting their knowledge about job search techniques in their own country. Our target group are organizations that work with young people with and / or without disabilities / in risk of social exclusion interested in improving their skills to enhance the employment opportunities of their beneficiaries. This work requires a commitment to participate, be open to learn and exchange their knowledge and a positive attitude for inclusion. The EXPECTED RESULTS during and once the project is completed translate into an IMPROVEMENT OF LABOR OPPORTUNITIES for young people with disabilities through:- An improvement in the QUALITY AND PREPARATION OF PERSONNEL of the European entities at training, labor, staff, etc,- Enable a BETTER PREPARATION OF YOUNG PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES /IN RISK OF EXCLUSION to access an employment position.- Expand the ATTITUDES OF YOUTH WORKERS with improved knowledge about disability / social exclusion and about new tools and adaptation techniques. The CONSECUTION of these will be done by:• The STUDY, ANALYSIS and DETERMINATION of the main methodologies, tools and adaptation techniques for pre-employment training and employment.• The CONFECTION OF A GUIDE of PROCEDURES, METHODS and essential TOOLS to facilitate the employability of young people.• DISSEMINATION OF THE STUDY and determination of the measures or requirements that must be taken into account to avoid social exclusion (access, transit, participation and integration) in activities aimed at the general population and young people in particular.• DISSEMINATION OF THE GUIDE AND A VIDEO demonstrating good practices and conclusionsA positive impact on the improvement of inclusive training and labor services among youth organizations in Europe, an improvement in the participation of young Europeans, the promotion of equality in our community and greater professionalism in organizations is generally expected. participants. For this we will spread among organizationsnon-partner contributors and participants the conclusions derived from the analyzes.

The populations of Europe are rapidly ageing. Due to economic development, advances in healthcare and medicine and improved lifestyle, we have experienced a continuous increase in life expectancy during the last century. One of the consequences is a growing need for caregivers in eldercare. At the same time, the European countries are getting more multicultural and in many workplaces, the elder care staff no longer constitutes an ethnic homogeneous group but consists of employees with widely different cultural backgrounds and different norms and values. This creates challenges within a discipline where values, attitudes and communication are very important to the work environment: In nursing and caring, the staff gets very close to the person in need of care, breaking through his or her personal barriers and entering the intimate sphere. Differences in attitudes and approaches to elder care among colleagues with different ethnic backgrounds often give rise to misunderstandings and irritation in everyday life, sometimes even growing to dissociation and isolation of specific groups of staff. The European countries are lacking tools to improve elder care employees' ability to manage multicultural workplaces and the aim of this project was to contribute to strengthening of the competences of employees in the eldercare sector in managing value systems based on different cultural backgrounds. Both with regard to inter-collegial communication and teamwork and with regard to the communication skills of the nursing staff in their contact with their clients. Objectives:More experience in collaboration between education and employmentCaregivers have achieved new key competences regarding their understanding of different value systems and cultural backgroundsCaregivers have learned new methods to support their future opportunities for further training in acquisition of new key competences, including ICT competencesNew teaching methods to support improvements in formal and informal vocational education are developed with employees as co-developersA strengthened development within the care sector that rely on a broad European basis in relation to differences in cultural, organizational, economic and technological frameworkDevelopment within the care sector's vocational training is facilitated through the transfer of knowledge and experience from other sectorsInteraction between vocational training and learning in practice in different national contexts are improved The partnership consisted of 9 partners: From each of the countries Denmark, Italy, Germany and UK, a care organization and an educational institution participated. Besides, a Danish union representing elder care employees (the coordinating partner of the project). The partners brought into the project their experiences from care giving, training/education of caregivers, working as a union for caregivers, decision making in the field and general experience from work with multiculturality issues and dissemination. Professor Dominique Bouchet from the Department of Marketing and Management at the University of Southern Denmark was subcontracted as an expert. He has done research in cultural differences in workplaces and the training material he has developed in this field, served as inspiration for the partners in the development of their own training material targeting specifically the care sector. The project partners developed in each of their countries training programs and training materials that were tested three times. In the periods between the training sessions, materials and programs were evaluated, adjusted and further developed. There was a mutual understanding among the partners, that training must be rooted in everyday practice to achieve maximum impact so the evaluation also included an assessment of this aspect. Working places and educational institutions cooperated closely in the development of the training. Managements and team leaders of care organizations were involved in the recruitment of staff for the activities and were consulted on how to ensure the sustainability of the results of the project. The development of the training programs in each country had a common transnational starting point, there was mutual inspiration and a high degree of synergy effect. However, the training courses ended up very differently in each country as a result of the different national contexts. We consider this as one of the strengths of this project: The products can actually be used now and in the nearest future because they meet concrete and relevant needs in each country and on top of that, they offer more than courses produced isolated in one country without benefit from cooperation with other nationalities. This is probably why not only the educational institutions and the care organizations that were the project partners but also those to whom we have disseminated information, right now are integrating the results in their activities.
