We believed that developing the “European Start-Up” project would converge our different experiences into something that could be enriching for everyone.Making pupils more proactive and more conscious of their future roles in society and in the market place was one of the key goals of the project. This objective was achieved because most of them improved their academic performances, their understanding of themselves, their cooperation skills, and their willingness in participating in entrepreneurship programmes. On the other hand, teachers, other members of the school staff and parents got the chance to broaden their knowledge on other European countries, their working realities, their languages and cultures. Our educational goal was also to achieve relevant and high quality skills and competences both for students and teachers. We managed to involve pupils in mixed transnationals teams in all planned learning events, which increased their collaboration and interactions; to increase school’s European dimension by promoting closer relationships among students, teachers and other people related to schools from countries with different languages and cultures; to create a link between school activities and daily life challenges for the future adults, especially in labour market; to enhance the quality of the relationship among students of different cultural backgrounds and develop their social and communication skills; and to implement new teaching methods and using new materials, which created context for international cooperation and encouraged the learning of languages and cultures from different European countries and improved IT skills, especially during our virtual mobility due to Covid19 pandemic; The 4 schools that were part of the project were from Croatia, Portugal, Lithuania and Poland. There were about 1500 students, parents, people from local communities involved directly and indirectly in the project activities and the aims and objectives of the project. Out of these, 18 students and 6 accompanying persons form each partner schools participated in the short-term exchanges. The last mobility, was postponed and later replaced into a virtual one, given the pandemic circumstances lived in Europe. This enabled the participation of more students and teachers, which wouldn’t have been possible, had it been an onsite mobility.Throughout the project, there were some changes in the team corps of the Polish, Lithuanian and Portuguese school. Nevertheless, each school was able to successfully manage the project, coordinating and carrying out all planned activities. The selection process of students was fair and transparent. The criteria for the selection were based on the information provided by the school social benefits programme, parents’ approval and support, tutor teachers information regarding each student’s learning difficulties, obstacles, success and behaviour. DESCRIPTION OF ACTIVITIES , RESULTS AND IMPACTThe project was designed to last two years. But, due to the pandemic, Force Majeure had to be activated and the project was extended for 6 more months.During the first year of our project, there was the first mobility to Portugal where partners agreed on the work plan, tasks and deadlines, evaluation strategy, dissemination plan. Also, partnership countries and schools were presented and we agreed on how and when to set up school cooperatives. Then, in the second and third mobilities to Poland and Croatia, we created TwinSpace and the website of our project where all our work is now presented. We also made leaflets and posters informing other people about the objectives and activities related to our project and created questionnaires carrying out statistical analysis and evaluation forms. After the first year of the project, a project calendar about our entrepreneurial activities was produced. In the second year, we created the guide “How to be a young entrepreneur”and e-dictionary related with setting up a new business. Furthermore, we continued running the TwinSpace platform, designed the catalogue with lesson plans, and created a location game. The last meeting was planned to be in Croatia, but to accomplish in a more effective way the planned activities, we had to reschedule the order of the mobilities. The last mobility was to Lithuania, which ended up being a virtual mobility. In this moment, we presented our results summarized, evaluated the project activities and also discussed the possibility of developing a better and more effective method of dissemination of results. All information was collected in the form of the evaluation meeting. Evaluation and management process was kept throughout the project period. The results are the basis for the development of strategies to tackle early-school leaving, and raising awareness of the importance of education for students’ future.

GIMNAZIJA MARKO MARULIC,CSNO Zdravko CockovskiFunder: European Commission Project Code: 2019-1-PL01-KA229-064941Funder Contribution: 141,723 EUR"This project focusing on the subject of ""EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION - COMMUNICATION SKILLS” will unite 5 European schools from Poland, Croatia, Macedonia, Romania and Turkey.Good communication is at the heart of our social relationships and leads to an increased tendency towards acts of kindness and consideration, making people more inclined to offer their help and support.Communication skills are also a prerequisite for the successful inclusion of teenagers of different ages and from different socio-cultural backgrounds. It is becoming increasingly important that students are familiar with how, when and where to express opinions and address people of differing social standings in varying circumstances. A strong grasp of these key skills will prove to be essential in their search for fulfilling employment in a century where human connections are becoming increasingly vital. The project team acknowledges the value of providing students with an education that places a high value on the development of good communication skills as a means to vastly improve their employment opportunities. The main aim of this project is to significantly contribute to this process. The specific project objectives are: - to raise awareness about communication and its problems among 250 students coming from 5 EUschools over a two-year period- to observe the communication process among students from 5 EU schools- to enhance students communication skills through the exchange of personal and cultural experiences in a variety of key areas. Such as presentation skills, cross-cultural communication, public speaking, and inter-cultural communication- to encourage students to use ICT to increase the impact and reach of their communications. The project was designed to incorporate the following four sub-stages: - Verbal & Non-verbal Communication- Barriers to Communication- Visual Communication- Digital Communication. These sub-stages will help us produce the following concrete results: - questionnaires- Erasmus+ corners- logo of the project- presentations of the project partners- 1 silent theatre play- 1 e-booklet- 5 Time Capsule Messages Boxes- 5 presentations “Communicating for Understanding”- 1 common song- 1 common calendar- 1 exhibition “Create to Communicate”- 5 digital stories “My country’s contribution to the European cultural heritage”- 1 travel manual- 2 webpages for the project- promotional materials such as flyers and bookmarks- A DVD of the projectThe project will run for two school years and there will be one short-term joint staff training event in the PL and four short-term exchanges of groups of pupils in HR, RO, MK and TR.The project will involve students between the ages of 12 and 15 years, teachers, the local community, stakeholders and the local media. A total number of 250 students, 50 students per school, will be directly involved in the project, attending activities organised at a local level, from which 120 students (24 students per school) will attend the international meetings along with 40 teachers (8 teachers per school).Students will participate in a variety of team building activities such as city games, blindfolded games and problem-solving tasks which will help participants to realize how they currently express themselves and the importance of accuracy and clarity when communicating. This direct interaction with fellow EU students along with the production of presentations, group activities, artistic moments (prepared for the official openings), and intercultural activities will help participants to understand more fully how people communicate differently in other EU schools. All students communication skills will be enhanced as they will be given the opportunity to exchange personal and cultural experiences, develop their presentation skills, become more competent and confident whilst public speaking and develop both cross and inter- cultural communication skills. We cannot ignore the long-term benefits of this partnership on the development of our schools. It should be mentioned that the school curricula will be more international for all schools and all generations of students to follow, the quality of the educational process will be enhanced, the schools individual development plans will be advanced and the image of all schools as forward thinking international institutions will be improved at a local, regional and national level.Cooperation between five EU countries will contribute to the appreciation of each other’s national values and the educational importance of promoting the EU’s strong cultural heritage."

GIMNAZIJA MARKO MARULIC,5o GENIKO LYKEIO KARDITSAS,PIKC Liepajas Valsts tehnikumsFunder: European Commission Project Code: 2019-1-TR01-KA229-073902Funder Contribution: 144,640 EURCONTEXTAll partner schools strongly believe that information and technology literacy skills can be acquired and developed through innovative teaching and learning, particularly involving effective use of digital devices such as smartphone, iPad or tablet, dominating today’s world of internet in many countries. A rising tendency of using digital devices can also be observed at school, however most countries in Europe are still deficient in terms of using mobile apps in an educational context. Furthermore, even though some schools have been equipped with state of the art facilities, teachers have not always given the suitable training to use all the digital devices and tools which makes them ineffective. The reason why we have got together in this transnational project is that we really want to help our students to acquire, develop and improve digital skills. To do this, we will create collaborative work and will observe other European schools more experienced in applying technology based teaching - mobile devices in the students’ learning processes. Moreover, as some of the schools have only begun to get acquainted with this technology-based teaching approach, it is imperative that we shed some light on the huge diversity of mobile apps and web 2.0 tools. OBJECTIVESWe have set some key objectives for both teachers and students (the project privileged beneficiaries) to be achieved through the project activities, which will be developed locally and transnationally. Teachers will be able to:- gain, develop and improve knowledge on mobile apps, Google tools, - practise using digital tools,- enhance digital proficiency,- increase their confidence in using technology teaching methodologies in the classroom,- enhance their sense of initiative and creativity,- develop communication and collaborative skills,- connect with their peers and share experiences and best practices,- improve their knowledge and cultural awareness.Students will be able to:- acquire, develop and improve technology and information literacy, - increase motivation for learning,- develop communication and collaboration skills,- enhance digital proficiency for educational purposes,- develop creativity and sense of initiative,- practise using Google tools and mobile apps for educational purposes,- connect with their peers and share experiences,- enhance cultural awareness and intercultural competence.ACTIVITIESLTTA1, short-term students exchange - course on “Google tools and the use of mobile devices and apps for educational purposes”. LTTA 2 is a student LTTA on “Google tools and their use in the classroom.” LTTA3, student LTTA, follows the same procedure as LTTA2. The topic is “Mobile apps and web 2.0 tools for collaborative learning”.LTTA4, student LTTA – “Mobile apps and web 2.0 tools for content creation”.LTTA5, student LTTA – “Mobile apps and web 2.0 tools for assessment”.Before student LTTAs, each country prepares an activity which will be developed for and with students. PARTICIPANTSTwo main target groups are involved in the project: students and teachers. Students’ age range is 15-18. They are either vocational or general education students. Both boys and girls are part of the target group. In what concerns students, they will be the cornerstone of all project activities and they will answer questionnaires, at the beginning and at the end of each transnational events (LTTAs). Twenty students in each country will participate directly in the LTTAs as they will be a representative part shown as evidence of school quality work for the LTTAs. As for all the other participant students, they will be the target of the thorough dissemination activities developed after each LTTA. 5 students for each LTTA per country, total 125 studentsAll the project LTTAs will have the participation of two teachers per partner country. There will be a total of 50 teachers attending transnational events, both as beneficiaries in LTTA1 or as accompanying teachers in the other five LTTAs. The participating teachers will be mainly Technology (IT), Language and Foreign Language, Science, Maths teachers, though other specialist subject teachers can be involved too.IMPACTTeachers and students will get hands-on experience on how to use innovative mobile apps and tools in the teaching and learning process. This project will obviously impact on the whole school, as participants will become more active and competent in using digital tools. Classes will become more interactive and participants will become more motivated and involved in their own educational processes leading to mid and long term effects - fostering students’ further academic achievements.RESULTSWe will produce both tangible and intangible outcomes. Within the timeframe and development of the project activities, all participants will become more motivated, more involved in the teaching and learning process and much more digitally proficient.
