Human Rights Youth OrganizationFunder: European Commission Project Code: 2017-1-ES02-KA205-009151Funder Contribution: 20,670 EUR"The ""Good practice exchange on European migration policies for the inclusion of young migrants and refugees” (European Migration Policies) project is an exchange of best practices between entities of Greece, Italy and Spain on migratory policies regarding the inclusion of young migrants and refugees. The main objectives of the project were to generate inputs on: (1) know hows, mindset and knowledge on migration policies (in general) on the inclusion of young migrants and refugees (in particular); (2) competencies, methodologies and action frameworks (regarding design, implementation and assessment policies) to successfully respond to the needs of young migrants and refugees; (3) mechanisms and tools to empower young migrants and refugees so they can become active socio-political actors in their communities; and (5) communication strategies (especially regarding visibility, dissemination and impact) to raise awareness of the positive aspects of both migration policies and young migrants and refugees. To this end, the partner entities hold virtual transnational meetings where they were able to analyse, share and exchange knowledge, skills, experiences, mechanisms, resources and strategies on 12 migratory policies regarding the inclusion of young migrants and refugees. In this sense, all the results of the exchange of good practices were systematised in the “European Migration Policies Handbook”. This handbook was disseminated through the official website of the project, ISSUU, social networks and multiplier events with political, educational, social and labour agents. Finally, it is expected that this project has not only contributed to generate inputs on European Migration Policies (in general) in terms of the inclusion of young migrants and refugees (in particular). But also that these inputs can be used by political, educational, social and labour agents (at local, regional, national and European level), so that they can also successfully design, implement and evaluate their own migration policies on the inclusion of young migrants and refugees in Europe."

Human Rights Youth Organization, BIDERBOST BOSCAN & ROCHIN SL, Association de soutien de la Fondation des FemmesH.R.Y.O. Human Rights Youth Organization,BIDERBOST BOSCAN & ROCHIN SL,Association de soutien de la Fondation des FemmesFunder: European Commission Project Code: 2019-1-ES02-KA205-013109Funder Contribution: 23,750 EUR"The European Union (EU) has suffered, in recent years, a significant deterioration in its image both globally and its institutions and agencies (Pew Research Center, 2016). This has been mainly due to various problems in which the EU has been involved: economic crisis, youth unemployment, anti-Europeanism, xenophobic movements, terrorist attacks and refugee crisis (Gómez, 2017). In turn, all of the above has led to a notable lack of political participation on the part of its citizens, especially among the youngest ones (Eurobarometer, 2017, Eurobarometer, 2014). In the last two European elections, the percentage of people who voted has never exceeded 50% (43% in 2009 and 43.11% in 2014). Which is worrisome, on the one hand, for European democracy and, on the other hand, to be able to really get the voice of citizens heard and really come up with solutions to the problems facing them and the EU.Due to the above, and in the aftermath of the European elections in May 2019, the project ""#EUandME: Activating Youth in Democratic and Political Life"" was born. The main objectives of this project are the following: (1) to generate a methodology or framework of action to effectively involve young people in the democratic and political life of their communities; (2) promote European citizenship (awareness and sense of belonging) among young people; and (3) develop an electronic platform where young people can exchange their opinions / needs, make proposals to improve the European Union (and their communities) and share all of the above with the new MEPs (after the May 2019 elections). In order to achieve the above objectives, young people and young workers (of the partners themselves and other local entities) will be involved from the beginning of the project. For this, focus groups will be held with both groups to identify the following aspects: (a) what determines that a young person becomes an active agent of the democratic and political life of their communities; (b) identify the needs and problems that young people are currently facing (in relation to the 8 themes of #EUandME); (c) know how to prepare proposals for improvement to the needs / problems of young people (also in relation to the 8 themes of #EUandME); (d) jointly design the electronic platform for democratic and political participation; and (e) know how to present the proposals to the MEPs.The main target groups of the project are based on the profile of the partners and their own contexts. In the case of Fondation des Femmes, they will be young workers who work for the socio-economic inclusion of women (from 24 to 44 years old) and young native and migrant women (from 16 to 24 years old). HRYO, on the other hand, will be youth workers who work in the promotion of human rights and the integration of young migrants (from 24 to 44 years old), as well as young first and second generation migrants (from 16 to 24 years old). . BB & R, finally, will focus on youth workers who work in the development of civic-political skills and young people with political disaffection (from 16 to 24 years). In addition, the project has the collaboration of the following local organizations: San Estanislao de Kostka School (Salamanca), Entreculturas Salamanca, IPSSEO Institute ""P. PIAZZA"" (Palermo), Associazione Santa Chiara (Palermo), RAJA-Danièle Marcovici Foundation ( Paris) and Fondation la France s'engage (Paris). This project is of the utmost importance to be implemented on a transnational scale. First, because the future of Europe does not depend on just one country (but on all those that make it up). Second, because it is very important that European countries (and, therefore, their citizens) identify points in common and, from these, build a more inclusive Europe. Third, because it is essential to have perspectives or sensitivities from different countries (as well as from different professional fields) so that a European project is successful and has a greater impact. In this way, it is expected to contribute to increase participation in European elections, European democracy and the achievement of solutions to the problems facing the EU.Finally, this project is perfectly framed within the Erasmus + program and the Strategic Associations. As stated in the guide, this project seeks the following. First, promote European citizenship (awareness and sense of European belonging) among young Europeans. Second, to exchange, among entities of different sectors (associations, cooperatives and companies), knowledge, experiences and good practices to promote the political participation of young Europeans. Third, strengthen intersectoral cooperation between Spain, France and Italy in the field of youth."

Human Rights Youth Organization,ENSO GROUP LTDFunder: European Commission Project Code: 2018-3-UK01-KA205-059896Funder Contribution: 41,310 EUROne of Europe's largest and most complex challenges in modern history is the migration of people. Whether the catalyst is war last the last one in the Ukraine, climate or economic causes, the short and long term impacts of migration on Europe's youth can be life changing mental illness or social isolation. In January 2017 the number of people residing in an EU state with citizenship of a non-member country was 21.6 million. In addition, there were 16.9 million persons living in one of the EU states being born elsewhere in the EU. Social inclusion of all young people, including those from a migrant background, is a key aim of the 2018 EU Youth Strategy. This proposed Partnership therefore reflects a significant need for the successful social inclusion of youth migrants/refugees. Mindfulness is the practice of focusing one's awareness on the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one's feelings, thoughts and bodily sensations. This encompasses the use of art, yoga and meditation. Youth groups have the potential to embrace these low-cost techniques to engage migrants/refugees into expressing their feelings and it gives an ability to manage one’s mental health long term post-migration. Objectives of the Partnership were to: - share knowledge of outreach to promote inclusion of young refugees and migrants into youth groups, - develop knowledge and understanding of mindfulness techniques by youth workers for the informal, holistic development of young refugees and migrants, - collaborate to create a hub of resources for youth workers for outreach and teaching mindfulness techniques. As described by the UK's National Youth Agency, youth work is an educational process that engages young people in a curriculum that deepens a young person’s understanding of themselves, their community and the world in which they live. This partnership aimed to work with four partners to share best practice in order to create a hub of resources to equip youth workers with enabling safe environments and trusting relationships with youth migrants and refugees across Europe. This is one of the focus areas for experts under the European Union Work Plan for Youth; creating diverse and tolerant societies to prevent marginalisation and radicalisation. The Partnership consisted of: the UK, Italy and Portugal. Enso Group, is an experienced non-governmental group that seeks to enhance the Erasmus +'s aims of sharing best practice internationally in order to create better youth participation opportunities and therefore greater social inclusion across Europe.HRYO is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation founded in Palermo in 2009 with the aim to strengthen human rights at a local and global level. They have a wealth of experience of organising youth groups for migrants and refugees and use art as a medium for expression.Agrupamento de Escolas Trigal de Santa Maria is a school in Portugal and has students from the Ukraine, Cabo Verde, France and also Roma students. The school challenged with educating staff and Portuguese learners in how best to understand the issues these groups face and how mindfulness can help to cope with mental health post-migration.The first TPM at HRYO was attended by:3 participants from Portugal (teachers of Arts, PE teacher and yoga teacher)4 participants in the UK (Enso Group employees, Migrant, Mindfulness practitioner)2 participants from Italy (Youth workers) and several volunteers, Buddhist and yoga teacherIn addition, a few volunteers and immigrants from Ikenga, about 5 people. The second TPM was attended by:7 participants from Portugal (as above)4 participants in the UK ( as above)2 participants from Italy (Youth workers)The C1 was attended by:2 participants from Portugal were unable to participate due to Covid quarantine4 participants in the UK (Enso Group employees, Mindulness experts and a couch,Migrants, youth workers, volunteers)3 participants from Italy (1 Youth worker and 2 volunteers)The partnership promoted outreach material and the use and value of mindfulness in youth work. The preliminary meetings in each participating country provided the group with the context of the partners' organisations and current outreach and youth group tools in order to inform the detailed learning event in the UK. The main learning event included comprehensive mindfulness workshops, collaboration meetings and first hand experiences of outreach and mindfulness in UK based youth groups. We reached our goal of making a positive, sustainable impact through open-licensed outreach and mindfulness materials on the Enso Academy website and other EU platforms such as Salto, EPALE and Project Results Platform. Therefore, this partnership increased the social inclusion of young migrants/refugees, empowered them and increased the skills of youth workers and also the perceived value of youth groups across Europe.

Human Rights Youth Organization,AUR- Asociatia Nationala a Specialistilor in Resurse Umane,THE UBELE INITIATIVEFunder: European Commission Project Code: 2017-1-IT02-KA204-036993Funder Contribution: 113,683 EUREurope is one of the most common destinations for victims of trafficking and before the current anti-boat docking policies, which have significantly contributed to limiting not so much the departures but the arrivals, in recent years the identified cases have increased significantly, especially for young women coming from Nigeria and Ivory Coast (GRETA and IOM data). Apart from arrivals by sea, many women are also trafficked from other countries and through other routes, such as the flows ì Latin America to Spain or from Albania / Moldova / Romania through the Eastern route. The IRETI-Empowering Women and Strengthening Socioeconomic Integration project was born from the idea of providing real support to victims of trafficking, through the sharing of good practices in the field of adult education, thus promoting social integration processes, gender equality and creation of equal opportunities for women victims of trafficking, by encouraging the formation of an entrepreneurial spirit and acting as a provider of services and opportunities through the creation of the online platform. At the same time, the realization of the final products, such as the methodological toolkit and the guide to good practices, as well as the international training opportunities have allowed working directly with frontline social workers, increasing their skills and tools to carry out quality work.In this sense, it was very important to ensure the involvement of the operators and bodies involved for the entire duration of the project, with some of them participating in the various mobilities (both short and long term). From the point of view of the involvement of the direct beneficiaries, it is important to underline that because of the bureaucracy (in terms of travel documents and visas), it was much more difficult to manage the participation of survivors of trafficking, however guaranteeing more than satisfactory results. It is also important to note the contribution of the women and the social workers in the creation of the final products, through highly valuable final inputs and feedback. In total, thanks only to the international mobilities, 40 beneficiaries directly took part in IRETI's activities.Great success also regards the methodology chosen, as in fact, the main results refer to the activation of training through non-formal education, with which many participants were confronted for the first time, and with great enthusiasm. This has led to an increase in transversal skills, also through the online platform where victims of trafficking can find training and mutual support opportunities thanks to the activated European network, in order to also raise global awareness of the phenomenon. The platform, and the project in general, also ensured great media visibility of the Erasmus Plus Program and European opportunities for victims of trafficking and for the volunteers and professionals involved. In the long term, we expect great exploitation of the produced materials, especially the toolkit, in order to support evidence-based and international approaches to combat the socio-economic inequalities faced by victims of trafficking and greater competitiveness on the labor market. Finally, the platform has shown a great potential that goes beyond what was expected and implemented within the project, therefore, it will certainly represent a starting point for other initiatives.
