The collaboration integrates a holistic approach to help the participating schools address the issues of Health and Well-being. All project participants are given the opportunity to discuss the physical, psychological, emotional and social aspects of our lives. The partnership promotes team work, the importance of making decisions and its impact on the project as well as taking responsibility for the 'We'd Better Shape Up!' project. The school-based activities challenge the project participants into finding out what each participating school has to offer to develop the dispositions that lead to healthy and active lifestyles, arranging and organising meaningful and effective strategies for positive life changes. During the two-year partnership, the five EU primary and secondary schools are also involved in various activities ranging from producing and exchanging different materials and information through digital presentations containing information one would need when motivated to make a positive change to their current lifestyles ranging from how to get active and set oneself realistic targets to feel better and what to eat to benefit from a healthier mind, to what to do in and with your local communities and environments. The project is designed to offer a balance of blended learning and experiential learning with prospects of Assessment for Learning, deepening critical and creative thinking, building on prior knowledge, creating learner autonomy and cross-curricular expectations. The tangible end product of the project is a digital and published promotional video showcasing the contributions of all the participating institutions as a testimony of two years of collaboration. The project equips all participants with the necessary motivational skills to investigate, adopt and promote the assets of a healthy and positive mind-set needed in one’s life. Therefore, the ultimate outcome of the project is to support our young people to become better equipped European citizens with essential and inquisitive skills needed to explore their potential and the world around them and these skills will last for a lifetime.
