By deploying an innovative non-formal methodology based on a set of art-related disciplines (i.e. dance, theatre, music, street-art, photography, literature, cinema, painting & sculpture), InterArts will produce practical knowledge to reduce social exclusion and improve the level of key competences and skills of young people living in marginalised conditions.InterArts will gather 8 EU organisations with longstanding expertise in the field of youth, culture and social inclusion. These 8 organisations will work for the creation of a multifaceted methodology that will be run in each involved territory. The methodological activities are essentially conceived to enable young people living in marginalised condition to play an active role in the fight against social exclusion, launching with arts a strong message against racism, bullying and discrimination. InterArts will help participants to build a culture of peace against racism, discrimination and violence. Furthermore, InterArts wants to create a virtual space in which local stakeholders can discuss and compare trends, initiatives and policies carried out all around Europe, aiming at building up a new framework for reflection and improvement of social-based initiatives through the use of art.More specifically, the 8 partners will contribute to the achievement of three specific objectives:- Identifying and mapping European areas where young population in marginalised condition is more widespread, trying to understand main aspects, possible reasons and causes;- Developing an innovative non-formal methodology focused on the role of art for improving social inclusion of young population;- Creating a stable network of stakeholders (cultural institutions, youth NGOs, associations and local authorities) aimed at tackling social exclusion of young people by means of a continuous and integrated strategy at EU level. Each of these objectives will be strongly connected to the the accomplishment of the following expected results:- Finalisation of a comprehensive analysis on young people conditions in terms of social inclusion and community integration;- Publication of an Interactive Map on young people providing information on statistics and data concerning youth social inclusion;- Realisation of a complete review of good practices and lessons learned on the topic of art for social inclusion- Development of an innovative non-formal methodology aimed at involving young people living in marginalised conditions through the use of art; - Experimentation of the methodology through an 8 months-length training course. The whole module will give room to 8 art-related disciplines: theatre, dance, photography, street art, music, cinema, painting&sculpture, literature. All the partners will be required to engage with young people in needs and ask them to reflect on their condition through the use of art.- Official creation of a network gathering cultural institutions, art schools, cultural associations (music schools, conservatories, theatrical companies, etc.), youth NGOs and public institutions that will set up a common strategy for tackling social exclusion through an integrated framework of initiatives and policies;- Creation of an online open forum where stakeholders and beneficiaries may exchange opinions and experiences on the topic of “art for social inclusion”, as well as promoting initiatives and launching surveys."

The increase of refugees of different race and religion around us influences the raise of “right” oriented aggressive feelings among mainstream population (the proof of that is the newly elected government in Croatia nowadays). This further brings us hatred speeches on everyday basis and promotion of hate among youngsters who trust blindly their elders. In the region (SEE) that has gone through hatred and war just some 20 years ago and we have gone through the hard work as civil society organisations to work on reconciliation and acceptance among our youngsters, the newly rise of such negative emotions towards other human beings are also waking up the “old” hatred towards the neighbours. When hatred (towards migrants/refugees of different race and religion) is seen as acceptable in society, then elders happily jump in with adding also those “old” issues back to surface. Also in other European countries where there are refugees arriving or other migrants are living for some time, and combined with the recent terrorist attacks and fear from those, nowadays there is a rise of such negative behaviour and hatred, not only in Southeast Europe. The core activity of the project was – 8 days long partnership-building activity (PBA). It was organised in the youth hostel in Novi Sad, Serbia from 15th till 23rd November 2016 and it had geathered 30 participants, trainers and staff from 18 organisations and 16 countries (RS, XK, ME, BA, HR, MK, BG, GR, CY, TR, SI, RO, IT, FR, SL, PL). There were 18 participants with fewer opportunities. The PBA had explored the concepts of quality partnerships on international projects, realities of our countries in dealing with refugee crises and other issues of intolerance nowadays, celebrating diversity in communities and Erasmus+ YiA projects (with an emphasis on KA1 - Mobility projects for young people and youthworkers) as well as inclusion and gave the participants a space to develop ideas and establish European level partnerships for new projects tackling issues mentioned above and promoting richness of diversity and acceptance in Europe.Through increased quantity and quality projects of participants and partners, the impact was the increased competences and readiness of young people in communities for taking active stand on fighting discrimination and intolerance and promoting respect of diversity and intercultural acceptance.

It is rather innovative in our communities, although at the level of the EU there are quite a few support mechanisms for female entrepreneurship. In our communities, unfortunately, there are no entrepreneurship empowerment centres for young women.Overall project’s objectives:- Encourage active citizenship and develop sense of entrepreneurship of unemployed young women- Raise capacity of partner organisations and their youth workers for establishment empowerment centres and implementation of quality non-formal education and entrepreneurial learning activities for young women in our communities- Develop young women entrepreneurship empowerment centres and activities in our organisations and communities and thus to organise capacity building of young women in our communities- Evaluate the impact of the education/capacity building of our youth workers and the impact of the empowerment centres for capacity building of young women for entrepreneurshipProject's activities are:- Preparation activities- Training course (Activity 1): „Young Women Entrepreneurship Empowerment Centres“ (9 days long; Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina)- Homework – Establishing young women entrepreneurship empowerment centres & activities- Evaluation meeting (Activity 2): „Impact of entrepreneurial learning of young women in our empowerment centres“ (7 daus long; Zadar, Croatia)- Evaluation and dissemination activitiesProject gathers at least 31 participants, trainers and staff from 9 organisations/countries (BA, HR, RS, Al, MK, IT, SL, SI, ME). There will be at least 16 participants with fewer opportunities.Local communities of the partner organisations in this project will benefit thanks to establishment of the young women entrepreneurship empowerment centres and education workshops and programmes that will be regularly held there. We expect at least 9 empowerment centres of our 9 partners, with at least 10 different workshops / NFE activities (developed by our participants during the project activities) that contribute to raising competences and capacities of young women for entrepreneurship. We expect increase in number of young women that will get closer to getting a job through self-employment and establishing own enterprises thanks to their increased entrepreneurship skills through increased quality of non-formal education activities in communities, as long-term perspective of multiplying and sustainable impact.

It may seem like a paradox if we take a look at the high rates of unemployment especially among young people. In order to identify what is the source of this gap, we have made consultations with stakeholders from the partner countries and we discovered that employers are looking for employees with entrepreneurial skills who can easily adapt to the digital trends which impact the companies. On the other hand, we noticed that in order to attract youth to the IT sector we need to provide them a strong, but yet flexible instruments of learning that respond to their particularities as generation. Besides strengthening the cooperation between educational, nonprofit, public and business sector through designing a learning platform that ensures access to quality courses in the IT and entrepreneurship sector, we also noticed that if we want the learning process to be efficient, we will have to provide to our participants mentorship and support from people with experience in the two mentioned above areas. Thus, the main goal of our project was to equip young people with employability skills and knowledge and increase the number of IT young entrepreneurs who can contribute to entrepreneurship development and create new job places. We managed to do that through designing and creating an open innovative accelerated educational program for IT and entrepreneurship where the subscribers could access three modules on IT topics and one on entrepreneurship, and another platform that gathered together experienced mentors who offered support to the young people in order to better assimilate the information. The specific objectives that we established and also reached are:O1. To develop open innovative accelerating program (BootCamp) that will equip young people with skills and knowledge in areas: software development and entrepreneurship;O2. To train 300 young people for specific IT and entrepreneurship skills;O3. To create online mentorship platform for young people who will need support in further development of their business ideas in the IT sector or create carrier in IT industry; O4. To establish 40 successful mentorship relations between young people and mentors in IT industry.Target group was composed of unemployed young people, potential entrepreneurs and young professionals. We had 620 young people participating in BootCamp which means we managed to double the number of participants established in the objectives. As a sustainability instrument, we will continue to keep both platforms open in order to reach the sustainable indicators which we established at the beginning, meaning to have at least 30 participants who will open business and 100 who will become employed in IT industry, and for those who want to continue their learning and mentorship platform and we will stay in touch with the participants to offer them support in starting their own businesses or find a job in IT industry. Also, through the activities of the project we managed to increase the organizational capacity of all the partners involved to carry out learning and mentorship processes who can help their beneficiaries have a better insertion to the labor market.
