Now, when our world is improving very fast, basic skills such as writing, reading, use of computer and calculations are the priority. However, a lot of adults have big gaps in these competencies and cannot move on, integrate into society and labor markets. In general, MENNET increased the participation of low-skilled adults and adults with fewer opportunities in lifelong learning and improved their skills which help to integrate into society better and easier. Also, the created results helped people to easily gain knowledge and fill in the gaps they had by evaluating their knowledge and learning things they do not know with mentor support which prevented dropouts from the courses. The main objectives of the project, which were completely achieved were these: 1. evaluate the level of low skilled adults and adults with fewer opportunities competencies for writing, reading, calculations, and use of computer; 2. encourage the continuing development of low-skilled adults and adults with fewer opportunities by using the innovative education models; by creating training programs with sub-modules 3. create a mentoring platform for competencies improvement The consortium of the project, in order to achieve these objectives, was selected very carefully and in full understatement about their capability to be involved:1. CPIP is a Romanian s committed to mainstreaming the principle of equal opportunities for all citizens in the public policies and associated practices, as an integral part of democratization and the creation of an open society, to re-define the status of community co-production in all areas related to lifelong learning. 2. LSMCVA represents 23 formal adult education institutions leaders of Lithuania. The Association brings together Lithuanian adult education centers where formal and non – formal adult education takes place.3. OnProjects is a project managing consulting enterprise. They are focusing on advising enterprises, associations, public bodies, and other entities in managing, monitoring, and evaluating public-funded projects, planning activities, and implementing IO for the mentioned target groups. OnProjects are very experienced in project evaluation and lead all the activities related to QA.4. FuN holds specific expertise in the distance, flexible and online education for adults, including digital learning resources. We focus on developing new pedagogies and learning methods, also focusing on collaboration in online technologies. FuN gives high priority to quality assurance in online education.5. ZIPc was established by an active team of professionals, who have been working in the field of the labor market, adults, and vocational education quality research in Lithuania. They seek to combine labor market demand and VET sector supply, by working with VET schools and private companies in the Kaunas region, as well as are seeking to implement innovative training methods and learning technologies in the VET sector and work with adult education. Target groups: low-skilled adults and adults with fewer opportunities. It was people who are not employed and not at any educational level and those, who have just compulsory education and have a big gap. Totally 513 participants benefitted from the project. Impact on the participants: 277 people directly increased their competence in the foreign language and developed digital, numeracy, literacy, and calculation competencies by participating in O1, O2, and O3 activities. They have gained new knowledge on new learning approaches dealing with their personal and professional development. All partners worked with different groups of learners like disadvantaged groups, they have shared best practices and gained new knowledge and experience. The impact on participants has been measured by asking them to do pre-testing and do the post-testing after the training program. Results revealed that the participants increased their knowledge up to 80% after the training program. This project complemented to reducing social exclusion and disparities in learning outcomes of disadvantaged learners, enrolling them into active lifelong learning activities.

As the propensity to be diagnosed with Alzheimer's or other dementias increases with age, the number of people who will be diagnosed with Alzheimer's or other dementias is set to increase in the foreseeable future. There is no cure for Alzheimer's or other dementias. The provision of care to people with dementia is costly to states around Europe. Home based care is seen as highly effective and desirable by key stakeholders and by people who have dementia. We strongly believe that ways need to be found to promote the provision of home based care by family members of loved ones with dementia. Many conventional face to face courses exist around Europe. And there are a range of Online courses too. Objectives: We will develop a high quality training course based on an existing and popular face to face course for family carers of loved ones with dementia. This will require the production of two intellectual outputs as follows: 1. the development of a physical Online course structure and materials which will be available to organizations working with family carers 2. these organizations will require a set of Guidelines which we are calling the Quality Framework User's Guide and which will provide information, advice and practical plans which will enable them to facilitate this course for their service users. Participants Profile: 30 family carers will benefit from this grant while 76 participants will come from the three beneficiary organisations the Alzheimer Society of Ireland (ASI) , Fleksibel udtanning Norge (FuN) and IC Dien, Belgium. Direct participants in this project will include training staff from The Alzheimer Society of Ireland (11 people), Online teaching and learning experts from FuN in Norway (2 people), lecturers at IC Dien a further education college in Belgium (3 people). Together these participants will use their expertise to build course content (Ireland and Belgium), place the course Online (Ireland and Norway), develop the User Guide for organizations (Norway and Ireland). All participant organizations will take part in a TTL (for 10 members) around facilitation of Online Learning groups - which is extremely important in running participatory Online programmes. Description of Activities: The production of the Online course will involve the following tasks: a)identifying appropriate Learning Outcomes, b) Writing course content, c) Agreeing a set of learning activities, d) Agreeing Online structure, e) checking the Online course for Accessibility criteria and, f) Developing Evaluation processes. The production of the Guidelines will involve a) Assessment of the existing face-to-face course materials, b) Defining what we mean by ""Quality"", c) creating the checklist for each quality criteria, d) Writing an Online Teaching Guide, e) Implementing the Quality Framework into the Pilot Course Design. Our overall project methodology will be based on Honey and Mumford's 4 stage Learning Cycle. The result of the project will be a freely available, high quality and easily usable Online course for family members of people with dementia, together with a User's Guide for organizations working with this target group across Europe. Results and Impact: We would expect 30 family carers to have received a quality Online training experience during the project, leading to a more confident and skilled set of family carers. In addition, we would expect 15 organisations to sign up to using the Quality Framework User's Guide at the Dissemination Conference in June 2017 and at the Alzheimer Europe conference in October 2016. The impact of the Online course will be measured using a 'before and after' questionnaire which will demonstrate the additional skills and knowledge participants have gained as a result of their training. Results will be contained in an academic paper to be peer reviewed and published Online.Longer term benefits - a higher level of dementia care in the home / community, a greater likelihood for care organisations to deliver Online training courses and a greater general understanding of the demands of running quality assured courses."

As the proportion of older people in European societies increases, so too does the likelihood of ever increasing numbers of people with the disease. Family carers already provide care and support for loved ones with dementia. It is important that family members providing care to loved one's with dementia receive appropriate education and training so that they can carry out their caring duties effectively. During the project, the outbreak of COVID-19 led to increased isolation for people with dementia and their family carers. Objectives: We developed, delivered, evaluated and refined a blended learning training programme to support family carers looking after a loved one with dementia. The emphasis of this course is on later stage and end of life dementia care. We produced two outputs which are available as open education resources: the blended learning course called Later Stage Dementia Care - Blended Learning for Families available at https://dementia-care-downloads.moodlecloud.com/course/view.php?id=6; and a Blended Learning Handbook for educators or others interested in finding out more about developing and delivering a blended learning programme to adult learners. This is available to view and download at: https://fleksibelutdanning.no/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/Handbook-Later-Stage-Dementia-Care-Blended-Learning-for-Families-PDF.pdf Participants: 57 family carers took part in the 4 pilot courses we delivered over the lifetime of the project (target was 40). Staff from The Alzheimer Society of Ireland (6), Ic Dien (5) and Flexible Education Norway (1) participated in the production of the intellectual outputs. They were joined by 4 adult learners who provided feedback on early drafts of the learning outcomes for the blended learning course. Activities: The production of the intellectual outputs involved establishment of a small group of tutors who worked together on the development of the blended learning course. They researched existing programmes in terms of content and structure of the course, they delivered the first pilot course. The project coordinator and administration staff gathered feedback from learners and tutors. This feedback was assessed, and on the basis of this assessment adjustments were made to course syllabus and delivery structure for a second pilot course. The second pilot course was delivered and again we gathered feedback from learners and tutors, assessed this feedback and make adjustments for the final course structure and content. Methodology: we used David Kolb's Experiential Learning Cycle as the basis for the methodology guiding this project. This allowed us to deploy an iterative approach to course development and delivery. The result of the project will be a freely available, high quality and user-friendly course to support family carers looking after a loved one in later stage dementia. Results and Impact: 57 learners received a high-quality blended training course during the project leading to a more confident and skilled set of family carers. We were joined by 24 external participants at our Multiplier Event (target figure at time of application was 20). We would hope that some of them would find the Blended Learning Handbook a useful resource.
