Digital Innovation Hubs have become the national and European instrument to speed up digitization in SMEs/MidCaps to ensure the EU’s future industrial leadership. Most EU Member States DIHs have established, in a growing number of regions and sectors, complemented by regional and national networks. Also the EC is deploying a vast number of initiatives to support DIH activities. The next step is to build a pan EU network that coordinates and integrates this wide variety of initiatives and ensure collaboration and quality. DIHNET.EU just does that: build a network of networks involving hubs, competence centres, and regional and national programmes and infrastructures. The aim of this EU DIH network is to ensure the best possible support to SMEs and midcaps. DIHNET.EU will contribute to this in the following: - Enhancing collaboration between stakeholders from the European DIH Community to better support SMEs/MidCaps with their digitisation, by creating awareness, understanding and activating the ecosystem on DIHs challenges and possible solutions. - Offering DIHs an online infrastructure to facilitate their collaboration. This platform will support the DIHNET.EU Community with a wide range of services, information and tools that will help DIHs to communicate, align, collaborate and synchronise activities. - Developing a clear overview of the DIH related services provided in Europe and align them. - Upgrading the DIH Catalogue: identifying/activating activities in the DIH Community in coherence with regional, national and EU policies. - Creating a strategy to reinforce the specialization of these services to SMEs and MidCaps, as well as support its uptake by relevant DIH and DIH networks. - Creating a vision and strategy on a self-sustaining business model for this network of DIHs, and to make this operational. The project is carried out by TNO, Tecnalia, Fundingbox, euRobotics, BluMorpho and FEDIL, have strong experience in DIHs and well connected to the EU DIH community.

The overall ambition of the FED4SAE innovation action (IA) is to boost and sustain the digitization of the European industry by strengthening competitiveness in Cyber Physical Systems (CPS) and embedded system markets. In alignment with the "Smart Anything Everywhere" initiative goals, FED4SAE will: - Create a pan-European network of Digital Innovation Hubs (DIH) by leveraging existing regional ecosystems across full value chains and a range of competencies. DIHs will enable both tech and non-tech innovative Third parties (Startups SMEs, Midcaps) from any sector to build new products and services with “digital inside”. - Act as a European added-value one-stop-shop to facilitate innovators-suppliers cross-border partnerships which will accelerate innovation in products and processes of European Third parties by providing technical, industrial and innovation management expertise. This will lead to quantifiable increases in market shares, productivity, industrial capacities of the Third parties, and a broader adoption of CPS and embedded systems solutions. - Link innovators to investors associated to DIHs to reach out to further funding opportunities and enable the next steps of the Third parties’ developments after completing their application experiments (AEs). - Ensure the self-sustainability of the DIHs pan-European network by developing cooperation with regional organizations and key stakeholders engaging public and or private investment to fund FED4SAE network activities. FED4SAE is built upon the key learnings obtained in the EuroCPS, Gateone-project, CPSE Labs IAs. FED4SAE will leverage the best practices related to Third party engagement, submission, evaluation and selection of AEs. FED4SAE will give birth to a competitive ecosystem where European Startups, SMEs and Midcaps will thrive as they access to leading technology sources, competencies and industrial platforms and also to well-connected business infrastructures and existing regional innovation hubs.

C-VoUCHER aims to develop new circular (cradle to cradle) value chains, disrupting traditional linear (cradle to waste) business models by means of cross-fertilization with Design Thinking experts and Circular Disruptors. This approach is empowered by 6 Regional entities (2 leading ones from SE and DK and 4 learning ones from ES, FR, PL and RO), which together with their 41 clusters representing 5,763 SMEs (linked as 3rd Parties, including 11 gold, 4 silver and 7 bronze label ones) will work, at cross-border level, on embedding circular economy (CE) model in their Smart Specialization Strategies. C-VoUCHER is the proof-of-concept framework where 24 selected Classic SMEs from traditional industries (Agro-Food, Health, Sea, Textile, and Manufacturing), will be offered an innovative 4-phase Circularity Program to develop 12 Circularity Solutions, to be then introduced in 42 Adopter SMEs with similar challenges. The regional CE Champions will be showcased to create ‘school’ at Regional Level and beyond. The project will leverage €6M of complementary funding for CE Champions and Adopters (provided by private and public investors). Also, a ‘Circular Design Toolkit for Regions’ will be produced to mainstream the methodology in the other EU Regions. The project will be coordinated by FBA, the European leader in Financial Support to Third Parties and supported by BLUMORPHO (Business and LEAN Innovation Accelerator) and Fundingbox Communities (expert in online marketing and community building). Industry actors: MADE (representing manufacturing companies), ARLA (biggest Scandinavian dairy producer), Green Ship of the Future (private partnership working for cleaner maritime industry), Neuca (Polish entity from Health sector), Lifestyle & Design Cluster (specializing in Textiles), will help to define the industry challenges. C-VoUCHER will demonstrate how Europe can disrupt traditional value chains and become the Europe of entrepreneurial regions.
