This is partly due to the clinical syndrome that is associated with misperception of social cues, self-stigma, decreased self-esteem and a lack of assertiveness. Earlier experiences with violence also increase the risk of victimization. To tackle this downward spiral, an assertiveness training in which psychomotor interventions are combined with kickboxing techniques was developed. The effects of the intervention will be studied using questionnaires and fMRI in both a pilot, a randomized clinical trial and a follow-up study

In hospitals, at least 20% of this derives from the operating theatre. This includes waste, inhalation gases for anaesthesia, energy for air refreshment and medicine residues in waste water. To change the behaviour of all stakeholders, we assembled a very diverse team to make the operating theatre greener by gaining insight in the biggest polluters. This project aims to fill knowledge gaps but also to provide tools that enhance trust, acceptance and a change in behaviour for the myriad of stakeholders.

Financial self-management is, however, at risk among young people with psychosis. Psychotic symptoms may start to interfere with their financial behaviour and cognitive alterations may hamper their financial capabilities. Loss of income and incurring debts in turn can trigger financial, psychological and social distress. Not seldom parents have to take over or a guardian has to step in. The present project called FinFit represent a new initiative how to assess, stimulate and support financial self-management among young people with psychosis.

The responsible handling of data through data management is therefore more important than ever. Good data management is crucial in all stages of research, from grant request and research development to the collection and processing of data, when writing publications and afterwards when archiving and publishing data. The UMCG DCC is the front-office supporting researchers on data management, helping to make research data FAIR and compliant with all the applicable laws and regulations during the entire research data lifecycle.
