The project is mainly focus on the characteristics of various European countries which have many similarities and differences.Cultural diversity is an essential condition of human society, brought about by cross-border migration, the claim of national and other minorities to a distinct cultural identity, the cultural effects of globalisation, the growing interdependence between all world regions and the advances of information.Cultural diversity is also an economic, social and political plus, which needs to be developed and adequately managed. On the other hand, increasing cultural diversity brings about new social and political challenges. Cultural diversity often triggers fear and rejection. Stereotyping, racism, xenophobia, intolerance, discrimination and violence can threaten peace and the very essence of local and national communities.Dialogue between cultures, the oldest and most fundamental mode of democratic conversation, is an antidote to rejection and violence. Its objective is to enable us to live together peacefully and constructively in a multicultural world and to develop a sense of community and belonging. In a general sense, the objective of intercultural dialogue is to learn to live together peacefully and constructively in a multicultural world and to develop a sense of community and belonging. Intercultural dialogue can also be a tool for the prevention and resolution of conflicts by enhancing the respect for human rights, democracy and the rule of law. More specifically, the following goals have been outlined:To share visions of the world, to understand and learn from those that do not see the world with the same perspective we do;To identify similarities and differences between different cultural traditions and perceptions; To achieve a consensus that disputes should not be resolved by violence; To help manage cultural diversity in a democratic manner, by making the necessary adjustments to all types of existing social and political arrangements; To bridge the divide between those who perceive diversity as a threat and those who view it as an enrichment; To share best practices particularly in the areas of intercultural dialogue, the democratic management of social diversity and the promotion of social cohesion; To promote cooperation between partner schools and so countries, contribute to the promotion of cultural heritage; approach with respect to national and regional diversity and at the same time bring the common cultural heritage to the fore.“Intercultural dialogue is an open and respectful exchange of views between individuals and groups belonging to different cultures that leads to a deeper understanding of the other's global perception.”The basic purpose of the project is to break the barriers between nations such as religious, linguistic, racial and cultural differences. The aims are to build a cultural support to the students, teachers and local community and to help them in crossing the barriers which are forced upon them by concepts such as different races, languages, and cultural values.Second aim of the project is to advance cooperation between partner countries and international institutions competent in the field of education and culture with respect to diversity of cultures and to develop synergy to encourage the ways of protecting the intangible and tangible cultural heritage.Third aim of the project is to train individuals, integrated to the cultural identity of our age at all, approaching with respect and understanding to different cultures, owing and recognizing cultural richness and diversity, seeing culture as area for creating not demanding resources, and believing in the necessity of creating economic and social sustainability. The action's overall objective is to contribute to implementing the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Common Cultural Heritage. The basics of this project fit with the general framework and principles of European Union‘s Lisbon Convention and UNESCO's Convention on the protection and promotion of the diversity of cultural expressions (20.10.2005); objectives concerning recognition and promotion of cultural diversity, intercultural dialogue and sustainable development. Our target group are teachers, students and their families. Our project has a strong focus on pupil participation. ERASMUS+ Programmes suppose intercultural dialogue, as partners from different countries and cultures are involved. "It is undeniable that people are different and unique. Thus, it is essential to identify these differences and try to understand each other, at all levels, as individuals, locally, nationally, internationally. It is through understanding that we are going to prevent unacceptable racist behavior and bullying. We must learn to overcome stereotype models. We must learn that being different should not arise conflict or hatred. Unfortunately, recent events in Europe prove that we victimize people. We judge people according to color, religion, wealth, factors which are far from what we should do. Being unique and different makes the world colourful. So let’s celebrate rather than fight. Let’s respect love and support each other so as to live in a world of peace and harmony. The topic is relevant in today’s international context. Rather it is crucial since we have the big rush of immigrants.Poland, Turkey, Greece, Portugal and Italy are countries which try to cope with and find solutions to the arising problems due to immigration. All five countries in this project, struggling to find a way out of the problems through applying various programmes. As previously mentioned we strongly believe that the problems of discrimination and stereotyping must be solved the sooner the better. We can see no other way of tackling the problem but teaching the younger generation that being different is natural. They must be aware of the dangers of discriminating people because of colour, religion, preferences or sex.The sooner the students are aware of that the more chances we have to change the world and build a world void of conflicts, wars, hatred.ObjectivesWe will attempt- to teach students how to respect others and avoid language or behavior which arise hatred- to raise awareness at a social level and increase tolerance for the immigrants and refugees- to combat stereotypes- to expand our knowledge on the know-how in relation to dealing with the issues of stereotyping and discrimination inside schools- to encourage students to become active members of a society where stereotypes, discrimination, and bullying do not exist-t o make the relationship between schools and local NGOs who deal with the same issues strongerParticipantsWe aim to involve as many students as possible, aged 15-18, since teenage years are critical in developing lifelong negative feelings towards other people based on stereotypical thinking and discrimination. We also aim to address teachers in our schools and other school staff and psychologists who will help to use and apply the results locally, and make them ever lasting practices.LTT activitiesWe plan to have groups of 2 teachers and 6 students:C1 - Our primary aim is to widen the project and plan how to actC2 - Stereotypes and discrimination:stereotypes based on nationalities, various forms of discrimination; the effects of discrimination such as xenophobia and homophobiaC3 - Equality based on gender and race:study the effects of common gender and racial stereotypes and try to find ways to combat themC4 - Religious equality:T ry to identify common stereotypes which relate to religious beliefsC5 - Stereotypes and discrimination in the school community:how we deal with and find solutionsMethodologyThe main areas to be covered in the project are:- Management of the project1. CONTEXTInnovative learning and teaching, more precisely the successful use of technology can improve the abilities of this century. The web society is influenced by the spread of cell phones, iPads or tablets. A wide use of these equipments can be observed in schools, although most European countries are not yet proficient in using mobile applications. Moreover, even if there are a few schools where suitable devices exists, teachers are not yet prepared for using these tools and that is why they prove to be useless. The starting point of this project is the fact that we want to observe different schools in European countries and the way and the level of mobile learning and innovation inclusion into the learning-teaching process. Since a small part of the schools have just started to know the technology based teaching process, it is important to get acquainted with the huge variety of mobile applications.OBJECTIVESStarting from the project activities at a local level, but also at a transnational level, we focus on the following objectives for teachers:- acquire knowledge concerning mobile applications, Google tools;-improve digital ability;-improve working on digital devices;-develop self-trust in using technology during the class;- improve the self-sense of initiative and creativity;-establish cooperation skills and communication ability;-improve the perspective on different societies; The activities we propose allow us to focus on aims for students:-to improve digital skills for educational purpose;- to develop their enthusiasm for learning; -to develop cooperation and communication skills;-to improve the self-sense of initiative and creativity;-to improve working on digital devices for educational purposes;-to communicate with their colleagues and share different knowledge;-to improve intercultural ability and cultural appreciation.-to enhance intercultural competence and cultural awareness.ACTIVITIESLTTA1, short-term joint-staff training – class on the use of mobile devices, apps, and Google tools for educational aimLTTA 2 is a student exchange with the theme “Google tools used in the class.” LTTA3 is a student exchange that has the same procedure as LTTA2. The topic refers to web 2.0 tools and mobile apps for collaborative learningLTTA4 is a student exchange with the theme “web 2.0 tools and mobile apps for content creation”LTTA5 is a student exchange with the theme “web 2.0 tools and mobile apps for assessment”LTTA6 is a student exchange with the theme “game-based learning”.Each country will create an activity that will be applied to the students previously each student exchange.PARTICIPANTSTwo primary target groups are included: teachers and students. Students between 16-17 years, both boys and girl, who come from vocational or general education high schools. 20 students from each country involved will directly take part in to the transnational activities. The rest of them will take part in the post exchange events. From the teachers group, 52 teachers will take part in the transnational activities as beneficiaries in LTTA1 or as accompanying teachers in LTTA2-6. They can be teachers of different subjects, but most of them will teach IT, science, language or Maths. IMPACTTeachers and students will start using mobile applications and tools in the learning and teaching process, which will represent a benefit for the entire school, as they will become more dynamic and they will develop their skills in the use of present day strategies. Classes will become more intuitive and participants will turn out to be more stimulated and involved in the educational process. All these will have positive consequences for the whole school after the dissemination of project activities and results. Taking this into account, more teachers are expected to be motivated to use present day technologies in their classroom. Schools will be prepared for the requirements of the 21st century; they will turn out to be more tempting for students and will be able to start new partnerships with nearby institutions in this field. The use of modern tools will turn out to be more captivating for both teachers and students. RESULTSMeasurable and non-measurable results will reveal at the end of this project. All those who will take part will be more determined to use technology in the teaching-learning- process. Students will find schools more captivating and able to educate students for this century’s requirements. The measurable outcomes of the project are represented by the reports concerning the use of mobile application in the learning-teaching process, written at the beginning and at the end of the project. These reports will include the initial situation for every school, the sets of questions for students and teachers, training materials, means of getting feedback from those involved, activities, lessons designed by all the partner schools based on the teamwork of each exchange, etc.

"The aim of our project, the participants of which come from various parts and regions of Europe, is to prevent the omnipresent intolerance. By instilling the attitude of empathy, tolerance and respect towards other people into young people’s minds, we wish to motivate them to participate in social life more, to be active citizens, to promote the increase of tolerance towards other cultures, ideas and world outlook, and to enhance the international dialogue. The thoroughly planned activities will allow the students to be acquainted with the “otherness” of people, see how it feels to be in their place, and to implement the acquired knowledge and use it to create the educational tools in the struggle against intolerance. The motivation for this project arises from the observation of young people’s behavior towards others who may look different, have different religious beliefs or who may be refugees or emigrants. Students’ opinions are mostly based on stereotypes existing in our societies. Through our project we would like our students to become acquainted with another – the proper - way of thinking, and to show them the lifestyles of people living in remote parts of the world. The cooperation among the students from various countries based on common workshops, lectures, debates and teamwork will help in breaking the stereotypes. During discussions, games and activities the cosmopolitan aspect of our learners will be strengthened. The participants of the project should realize that despite the different lifestyles, we all understand the idea of tolerance in the same way. In the long term, such experiences ought to be practiced by the participants in order to promote mutual respect and to avoid discrimination. During the project, the students will be encouraged to look for places or people who have experienced some kind of intolerance or discrimination in their life. We wish to show young people, who live in peace and democracy now, how thin the line is between human rights and freedom or nationalism, between xenophobia and war. Not only will the participants acquire skills and abilities from this project but also will raise their awareness that tolerance and freedom are not always natural things and that we often have to nurture and care for them. The project will focus on young people at the age of 14-18 years old.
