"<< Background >>The BIO-ALL project was created taking into consideration the lack of instruments to boost entrepreneurial skills inserted in the education curricula of schools and universities, customized and adjusted to the Biohealth sector. This Knowledge Alliance emerged to gather European forces that can accelerate the learning of knowledge and competencies, boosting efficient innovation and entrepreneurial processes, specifically targeted at the Biohealth sector.<< Objectives >>Aiming to promote new skills and competencies for professionals in the BIOHEALTH sector, and give them the opportunity to engage in several programmes such as an International Joint Post Graduation, or an International Joint Accelerator. With these tools, the intention was to reinforce the cooperation between Academia and Business, as well as target new graduates and professionals in this sector, develop ideas, modernise education and training, create a blueprint and disseminate good practices.<< Implementation >>The implementation of the BIO-ALL project was made by all 13 partners through 8 WP. This took place through cooperation between all partners (and also relevant participant stakeholders), taking into consideration a collaborative network. In this sense, the participation of the partners also looked to the high standards of quality, regarding the implementation of the activities throughout the project, as well as delivering all information on time to better execute all the activities planned.<< Results >>Results of BIO-ALL include the creation of a Good Practices Report, a Blueprint for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Biohealth, the creation of an International Joint Post-Graduation in ""Advanced Skills for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Biohealth Sector"" (which occurred in the 3 countries - Portugal, Spain, and Italy), the International Joint Acceleration Programme, the International Hub, and several events such as Sparkathons, Unconferences, Igniting Events, and GearBox Labs."

The vision of DIGILOGIC is to boost the cooperation and strategic partnership between European and African Digital Innovation Hubs (DIHs) paving the way for startups, SMEs and innovators to jointly develop smart logistic solutions, in close cooperation with industries and ventures, securing sustainability and success. The motivation that drives the EU-Africa DIGILOGIC project is to facilitate and stimulate the unleashing of the innovation potential within Africa’s young engineers and entrepreneurs. It achieves this through the creation of the first Pan EU-Africa sustainable network of DIHs, focussing on the topic of smart logistics. DIGILOGIC sees the horizontally connecting logistics industry at the converging point of interest for digital innovation for social and business development, a crucial node for Europe’s and Africa’s sustainable prosperity. DIGILOGIC is centered on five DIHs: three DIHs in Europe (DE, FI, IT) and two DIHs in Africa, reaching nine countries (GH, NG, ZM, ZA, KE, MW, ZW, NA, MZ). Furthermore, DIGILOGIC is unique in that it includes both an online eLearning and collaboration platform for smart logistics and the first practical demonstration of the success of this new federation of smart logistic EU-Africa DIHs, by incorporating four, so-called, “Challenges” that will involve both European and African innovators (startups, ICT professionals, Micro SMEs) in real projects in the logistic sector, to solve existing issues that require new technological solutions. These Challenges (both in EU and AU) will not only demonstrate the benefits of using trained and skilled persons from low- /middle- income African countries (thereby contributing to youth employment), but will set the stage for tighter collaboration between EU-AU Digital Innovation Hubs and contribute to reinforce the international dimension strategic partnership and outreach of the Horizon 2020 ICT Programme 2018-2020 and contributing to the upcoming Horizon Europe.

The aim of the project is to collaboratively address a common innovation support challenge; namely to improve eco-innovation support services in smaller manufacturing companies from traditional sectors in the peripheral regions, where innovation services offer is often weak. The most important outcome is a joint Design Option Paper, which will serve as a “guide” or a “handbook” to other agencies and business support centres to provide similar, more focused services on eco-energy efficiency.

The aim of the project is to collaboratively address a common innovation support challenge; namely to improve the use of public funds for R&D&I enabling synergies between ESIF, H2020 and other funds. Intermediary organizations offering support services on funding opportunities to SMEs are relevant actors in this process from two main points of view: 1) they can help policy makers in the development and application of the synergies, 2) they can support SMEs in the correct use of public funds for R&D. The Peer learning activity will serve to learn from the best and to share good and bad practices in funding opportunities support services. The realized Design Option Paper will serve as a “guide” or a “handbook” to other agencies and business support centres to provide similar and/or more focused services on funding opportunities support.
