According to the European Commission´s 2018 Report on ¨Equality between women and men in the European Union¨, although more than 9 in 10 Europeans think that promoting gender equality and nonviolence is important to ensure a fair and democratic society, its promotion, protection and, last but not least, implementation still requires a constant change of mind-sets, lifelong education and solidarity. Given the unstable social, political and economic situation not only in Italy but also in the other partner countries and the rest of Europe, we decided to form a Strategic Partnership as we believe that it is of utmost importance to address abuse and gender inequalities. The Partnership will be formed by the following countries and entities: -Italy: Petit Pas, association of social promotion,-Netherlands: Stichting voor Aktieve Geweldloosheid´s (Foundation for Active Nonviolence) Towards a Nonviolent World Department,-Poland: Fundacja Zielony Słoń (GEF), Foundation working with fewer opportunities communities,-United Kingdom: Creativity Works Preston, entity providing an alternative learning and employment centre,-Spain: Permacultura Cantabria, non governmental organisation working on social development. As for the learning activities planned for the WOMAN: Working On Mastering Adult Nonviolence project and their main objectives, through three study visits, in Italy, Poland and the United Kingdom, and a course in Spain we will better understand the reality of adult gender abuse victims which will further allow us to raise awareness of this problem among our adult service users.By visiting participating organisations´ local communities and other institutions they cooperate with we will be able to directly get to know their best practices in fight for a more just, discrimination and violence free society and round tables will let us benchmark our methods of working with adult learners against newly experienced ideas and initiatives. We will exchange specific tools to contribute to a nonviolent and more equal society for the benefit of our adult service users such as SVAG´s methods to work on identifying and breaking the cycle of oppression, GEF´s manual to address the issue of cyber abuse and discrimination, CWP´s method of identification of micromachist behaviours, Permacultura´s emotional management tools and Petit Pas´ experience on working on empowering women and gender and power abuse in the labour market. The newly gained skills and insights will be further passed on to other adults and adults trainers during internal workshops organised by the course attendees and subsequently used in defining and implementing future European projects. On the other hand, gender is not the only factor in women's lives as there are many more aggravating issues that undermine their well-being and social inclusion which is why education and training that explore diversity issues such as ethnicity or disabilities, in addition to gender, are also needed. Moreover, in many cases gender violence victims are economically dependent on their offenders which is why shame and emotional dependence add on to the problem. For this reason, the course in Spain will be focused on measures addressing adult nonviolence through emotional management tools and we will also visit institutions that work with women with disabilities or from cultural minorities, get to know their best practices and deepen our expertise on working with collectives, especially women, with fewer opportunities. As for the project’s impact:Adult trainers directly participating in the Project will broaden their capacities and gain new abilities for their daily work which in turn will create a direct effect on the gender abuse vulnerable collectives they work with advancing the benefits of the educational activities provided by their entities. Adult learners who participate in the course in Spain will acquire best practices relevant when facing abuse and discrimination in different contexts becoming more active as European citizens. Also, the multicultural environment and direct diversity experience will raise both groups’ consciousness level and improve their linguistic, task-management and communication skills. Our Strategic Partnership members will deepen the expertise regarding gender discrimination and violence improving the scope of their activities and their staff’s qualifications. They will also broaden their international networks and connections for the future initiatives.Last but not least, directly and indirectly through a wide dissemination campaign and adult trainers’ work more gender related violence and discrimination victims are expected to be reached and empowered. Also, European citizens in general will be better informed and equipped to provoke a social shift so that women are no longer underprivileged and gender-based violence and harassment is less widespread across our societies.

NOTE: THE PROJECT WAS SUBMITTED IN THE LAST ERASMUS CALL. WE HAVE ADAPTED THE PROJECT ACCORDING TO ALL THE EVALUATOR’S COMMENTSThe reason for carrying out this project stems from our contact with young people: working with them daily we see that they have a great potential but are often unable to direct it towards their goals and sometimes they are even unaware what these goals are. The Western world politics promoting the individual over the collective, isolation, vulnerability to the modern world problems are very visible in young people lives, resulting in much deeper and complex problems on personal level. According to the Synthetic Index of Comparative Youth Development 2017 report issued by the Spanish Reina Sofia Centre, the overall development of the young Europeans from our Strategic Partnership countries is 7,3 out of 10 points in case of the UK, 5 points for Spain and 4 for Italy (the average score being 6,1). Youth unemployment rates in the partner countries are very high: UK: 8%, Spain: 26,2% and Italy: 24,8% (data from November 2018). The social participation data is also worrying: according to the Global Youth Wellbeing Index, UK ranks 10th and Spain 13th. EU Watcher states that with 5.6 million unemployed young people (under 25) in the EU – and this figure will only rise the coming years – the necessity for drastic labour market improvement becomes enormous. After the analysis of the information provided by the partner organisations and focus groups, we agreed that one of the solutions to alleviate the dreadful situation of Europe’s young is to promote youth entrepreneurship. Growth will not come from existing companies, so startups and new sustainable organisations are essential to create jobs and avoid the looming lost generation, which is why we decided to make a joint effort to try to improve the existing situation. The organisations: Creativity Works Preston (CWP, UK), Oriel (Italy), Chamber of Commerce of Cantabria (COCIN Spain) and Permacultura Cantabria (PC, Spain) decided to form this Strategic Partnership to help to improve the existing situation of young people from our countries and other young Europeans, providing them with tools useful for collaborative entrepreneurship, social activism and environmental awareness. The reason to form our Strategic Partnership is the need to activate and empower youth workers and young people, improving their sense of initiative and social participation, supporting competitiveness and youth employment and providing the most positive attitude towards European projects and EU values through the new meta-methodology: META-TOOL. In order to achieve it, we established the following objectives:1Transfer participating organisations’ knowledge and best practices regarding collaborative entrepreneurship, social activism and environmental awareness that will be a basis for the new methodology. 2Create an innovative META-TOOL meta-methodology featuring collaborative entrepreneurship, social activism and environmental awareness.3Transfer META-TOOL meta-methodology to young people from our strategic partnership and communities.4Consolidate new knowledge and skills acquired by youth workers by applying them in practice while working with the organisations’ young beneficiaries and their communities. 5Facilitate the access to this new methodology to other young people and youth workers from the whole Europe using an effective dissemination campaign. The transnational activities planned for this project are: 3 transnational meetings in Spain, Italy and UK.Participatory Visit in UK, where the organisations will exchange tools in collaborative entrepreneurship, innovation, social activism and environment awareness.Creation of an Intellectual Output: Interactive Book about the innovative META-TOOL meta-methodologyCourse in Spain: where youngsters and youth workers will acquire the newly created methodology. They will learn how to apply and transfer it to other people from youth communities. As a summary of the impact, youth communities will benefit directly from the project because of its focus on promoting entrepreneurship, social activism and environmental awareness. The project will help with reaching higher social participation among youth, as the new tools and abilities will grant them possibilities of creating better, more attractive projects, both professional and personal. Youth workers will improve their leadership skills and quality of their work. Increased level of self-esteem and confidence of youth workers that participated in the activities will translate directly into greater diversity, creativity and sustainability in their professional and personal life.

For many, the age of “youth” is an interesting time, but since it is full of changes and challenges, it can represent the trigger of anxiety, worry and uneasiness. For example, it is estimated that 4% of those aged between 15-24 years old recognize that they might suffer from chronic depression, while 14% of the European youth between 18-24 feel alienated or anxiety. Women are more likely to have depression (Eurofound).Unfortunately, young people sometimes do not recognise what is happening, where to find help or find it embarrassing, so these emotional strains might lead to deeper mental processes, depression or even suicide. Suicide is the second cause of death, among age group of 15-29, according to the WHO.That is why, this strategic alliance (formed by Petrklíč Help, CWP and Permacultura Cantabria) decided to address this topic in the project “Protecting Youth's Mental Health”, and contribute reducing this problem. The project seeks, to gather tools for the identification of youth mental health issues, considering socio-economic and cultural factors; and on the other hand, it seeks their prevention, by learning how to design spaces and activities based on 8 main pillars, that are considered as favourable for a healthy mental health and relationships. These pillars create a series of healthy habits that help prevent emotional issues, being topics of youth interest:-Good Relationships.-Self-esteem.-Emotional Care and Management.-Prevention of Addictions.-Active participation in EU and social activities.-Healthy Sports and Cooperation.-Traditional culture (Traditional dances as cultural heritage).-Adultism (from youth to adulthood).Project’s objectives are:-Create spaces for knowledge exchange and good practices that add solutions to the problem of youth depression. Thus, the project has planned 2 participatory visits to Petrklíč Help (Czech Republic) and CWP (UK), to know the situation of the problem in each country, and their best practices to tackle it. Associated organizations will collaborate in these visits.-Provide youth workers and participants with tools for creating healthy and collaborative spaces. That is why, an 8-day course in Spain will be carried out and led by Permacultura Cantabria, to merge the tools to identify and prevent youth depression. With this, youth workers and young leaders will be better trained.-Promote the dissemination of the project and its results in order to broaden its impact. An exhaustive dissemination strategy was planned and divided into several phases (before, during and after the course) and tasks. Also, internal workshops will be replicated in each entity, to different relevant targets, expanding the project’s sustainability and impact. All participants for all the project’s activities are members of the involved entities (youth workers or youth leaders) that will meet the required criteria and will attend the activities. 2 youth workers will be the project and dissemination coordinators who will attend all the transnational activities including the transnational meetings (in Spain and Czech Republic).Four youth workers from each organisation will attend the 2 participatory visits (Czech Republic and UK) and the course in Spain, while 4 young leaders per entity will attend the course. Both youth workers and leaders will be in charge of the design and implementation of internal workshops, in each entity. All of them will support the dissemination strategy and the correct development of the project and its activities, with their active participation.During the project’s activities, the methodology will be flexible and participative, with practical and theoretical sessions. The project aims to develop a non-formal training methodology for youth workers or educators, so that they can replicate and adapt it to their groups, according to their circumstances, in their regions. This will make the results of this project sustainable over time and have a greater impact.Impact:Youth workers will acquire tools to create healthy spaces, to prevent emotional risks or isolation; Recognise socio-economic and cultural factors; Contribute to the elimination of taboos to seek help; Improve their career prospects and linguistic skills, etc.Young leaders will increase their awareness about depression and addictions, and have tools to support their peers or seek help. The project will help their passage to adult life, to better manage emotions, establish healthy relationships, increase self-esteem, intercultural dialogue, etc.Involved organizations will become pioneers and references on the subject; will capacitate their staff; strengthen alliances and networks; have greater EU participation; design future related projects, etc. Thanks to the dissemination, we will reach a wide multiplier audience, at all geographical levels. Thus, we expect the project results to help reducing depressive processes, discrimination and isolation, among youth.

United Nations states “The growing COVID-19 crisis threatens to disproportionately hit developing countries…as a devastating social and economic crisis over the months and years to come”According to the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, UK, Spain and Italy are in the top of the 5 European countries that have been the most affected by COVID-19 with a high number of cases and deaths reported since the beginning of the pandemic. The OECD unemployment rate edged down to 8.4% in May 2020, after an unprecedented increase of 3.0 percentage points in April, to 8.5%, the highest unemployment rate in a decade. This situation will get worse in the months to come.According to the Study, Culture shock: COVID-19 and the cultural and creative sectors developed by the OECD, “The Cultural and Creative Sectors are among the hardest hit by the pandemic…containing the greatest share of jobs at risk.” Andrew Lloyd Webber, English composer of music from The Phantom of the Opera and other relevant musical theatres, warns arts are at the “point of no return” following damage from the coronavirus pandemic. During the first months of the pandemic, arts and culture sector organisations in most of the countries restricted their activities or closed completely. Cultural heritage organisations, arts events, galleries, libraries, museums, cinemas, theatre, concerts, orchestra performances, festivals, television/music productions, etc., were closed.Rural areas, particularly in the developing world, are much less prepared to deal with the direct and indirect impact of this crisis. Adults, especially from rural areas, will become a vulnerable piece in the Post-COVID society. The arts and culture sector will be more affected in rural areas than in cities. Our Strategic Partnership carried out a Context Analysis and Focus Groups (with adult trainers and adult learners) that demonstrate the alarming situation adult communities are being through. We consider that one of the relevant keys to confront this situation is Entrepreneurship. However, in both analyses, we identified different reasons of entrepreneurship failure in adults, such as: lack of knowledge and capacities in entrepreneurship (project definition and implementation, financial, team management, etc.), lack of confidence, lack of innovation and digital skills, etc.CWP, Permacultura Cantabria and Oriel are in the need take urgent recovery measures to minimize the long-term impact, particularly for vulnerable and marginalized groups, and help societies to recover better. We want to carry out this project, to help tackling this situation, through the creation of the H_imCUbARTor Methodology. It will be composed by a framework of 4 priority key areas in entrepreneurship (during and after COVID):-Innovation-Creativity-Circular Economy-Sustainability-Digital (Tools for efficiency and project visibility)The main objectives of the project are:-To engage adult trainers and adults in the creation of social projects that contributes to the COVID-19 recovery process in the culture and arts sector.-To design the H_imCUbARTor Methodology for innovative entrepreneurship.-To empower adult communities with the H_imCUbARTor Methodology. To reach these objectives we will carry out these main activities:-COURSE IN SPAIN: 3 adult trainers, 3 adult learners and 2 mentors per organisation will attend a Course in Spain to acquire the innovation process by using Dragon Dreaming (DD), for cultural, digital and social projects, in an expert level.-ONLINE MENTORING: 3 teams/country composed by 1 adult trainer and 1 adult learner will work together to transform and incubate the dreams into 9 projects. They will receive support from the mentors through online sessions, which topics are Creativity, Circular Economy-Sustainability, Digital tools for project efficiency and high visibility.-CREATION OF THE METHODOLOGY AND INTERACTIVE BOOK: Mentors will create the H_imCUbARTor Methodology and will document it in an interactive book that will be available in English, Spanish and Italian.-PARTICIPATORY VISIT IN UK: Mentors will design a course to transfer the new methodology. 1 mentor and 1 adult trainer multiplier will attend to a Participatory Visit in UK in which mentors will share/validate the new course and test the book with associated partners.Through a strong Worldwide Dissemination Campaign we will spread the project and its results to relevant stakeholders.IMPACT SUMMARY The new knowledge acquired by project participants will be key factor in the creation of entrepreneurial initiatives leading to sustainable rural development. They will be empowered and their motivation and confidence will be substantially increased. We will improve the vitality of rural areas by providing new opportunities for diversification and a more efficient use of local resources. The arts and culture sector will be re-activated with more activities for the communities to enjoy.
