<< Background >>COVID-19 Pandemic threw the schools all over the world in a dark age in the spring of 2020, but after an year also good things emerged from this, many actors in education exceeding their limits. Still there is much more to do in order the pupils who passed or are still passing through online school as remote work experience to get over it and to incorporate it into everyday life.Even when the social and emotional aspects are an issue for all, for SEN students the damages are even worse, because it is less about knowledge and more about development in all important areas: cognition, language, motricity, perception, even basic skills. The coordinator of this partnership presented and published in November 2020 as key-speaker to International conference “Digital education and the challenges of XXI century” organized by Oradea University the results of a research study: Pantazi,T., Kiss, R., Ilisie, C. (2020) “Online Activities in special education”. From 346 respondents 60% had participated to school on-line activities, 32% participated occasionally and 8% did not participated. Regarding the communication methods and tools more then half 57% used Whats’up and Messenger Groups, 22% communicated with teachers by phone, 19% just accomplished tasks and working sheets delivered by teachers and only 2% used frequently learning platforms like Google Classroom or Microsoft Teams. Also an interesting fact is that 65% of the students were totally supported by their parents during activities, 27% partially supported and just 8% were able to work independently. The conclusions of this research, used as starting point for our project: even when there is a strong interest for attending online schools activities the resources and competences are limited for all parties involved; online education was not used in the most adequate way and the diagnoses of the students place them in a weak position of addiction to parents both because their particularities but also digital materials design. Also a SWOT Analyze conducted among partners (4 special schools from: Romania-coordinator, Poland, Slovenia and Greece, 2 inclusive schools from: Turkey and Portugal and 2 ICT companies from: Ireland and Spain) shows: Strengths: forced experience of the facility in remote work; school has a database of materials that can be used in distance learning; all teachers working in the facility know the basic methods of distance learning.Weaknesses: remote work with intellectually disabled children is very difficult to implement because most children have to use their parents' help while learning, and on the other hand, the materials for remote learning must be individually adapted to the needs of each child; home isolation causes a decrease in mental and physical well-being in teachers, parents and students, which additionally causes very serious behavior problems in children with intellectual disabilities.Threats: remote learning often interrupts the process of rehabilitation and therapy in children with intellectual disabilities, which causes a significant delay in the development of children. And we see our partnerships as an Opportunity!<< Objectives >>Emerging from the limitation we experienced in school activity during pandemic we formulate the goal of our project which is to reduce the negative effects imposed on SEN students and their teachers and families by the online school period by:O1. Developing ICT (Information Communication Technology) skills of creating digital materials to teachers working with SEN studentsO2. Developing ICT skills of using digital tools and materials to teachers working with SEN studentsO3. Increasing the responsible behavior of the teachers working with SEN students towards online education and/or using ICT in educationO4. Increasing the responsible behavior of the SEN parents towards online education and/or using ICT in educationO5. Facilitating SEN student development and/or regress limitation after online education during pandemic period by using ICT/digital materials and methods<< Implementation >>The implementation plan of our project, viewed as a whole, is divided on 7 different phases: Phase 1 - Organizing workshops for involved teachers both on local and international level where to share their experiences during online school and suitable tools to create and adapt digital materials. "As of 2019, Covid -19 epidemic, spreading all over the world, affected every sector, especially education. In general, special education students were seriously harmed as education moved towards digital field. However, in this process, the issue of education for the special education students , who are disadvantageous in using these communication tools, has not been on the agenda. Distance education contents were made available to students in need of special education by countries and they were requested to be used.Special education differs from general education in terms of content. Today, there are 5-10% students with learning disabilities in the world. (Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Dyscalculia etc.) Serious improvements have been achieved with inclusive education attack. (UNICEF work)Due to the importance of inclusive education, not all academic education provided in general education is within the scope of special education. The developmental and spontaneous characteristics of an individual not having any disabilities can be gained through a structured and systematic education process. Content of the special education program is determined according to the needs of the individual. In this framework, it is aimed to improve daily life routines of individual with appropriate training program. In short, these individuals are tried to be prepared for life according to their interests and abilities by using special methods and tools. However, in this sense, existing materials are expected to be digital.
