Digi Classrooms

Description

This project is mainly about decreasing the dependence on a certain real and concrete physical location for instructing and teaching students, such as during pandemic times. We desire to transform classical education environments into attractive and enjoyable ones through digital platforms, where students can learn with rich stimulus and inspiring content. We think that schools should be for socialisation, learning the world's cultural, moral and ethical values. On the other hand, today's technology provides incredible tools which makes us question why we don't benefit them at the maximum level. Technology can help us teach subjects in less time and with less effort. For these reasons, we want to create online classrooms which include theoretical information, visual and listening materials. We will use this to pave the way to learn in an easier way through exercises, discussion forms, diagrams and other materials for students. Those contents will be easily reached by students whenever they want to learn more and reinforce their knowledge. With involving teachers, parents and students, we will take necessary precaution to prevent misuse, overuse of these platforms and by this not ruining the health of students. All teachers, school staff and parents will register on these online classrooms and will take part actviely during the learning and teaching process. Observing the process will be easier for everyone and teachers will be able to get more help from parents as they will also see the results and tasks at the same time with the students and teachers.Teachers and students will be taught how to use web pages without being addicted and bullied. Second part of our LTTs aims to improve our participants' habits of using web pages in a way which helps to make learning easier. We will have one teachers’ training activity aiming to develop their digital skills and encourage them to learn and use the facilities of online classrooms afterwards. We will also have 5 learning and teaching activities with different topics aiming to develop both teachers’ and students’ digital competencies and skills in our partners schools. We know each other through different projects and eTwinning. We already carried out similar projects and we all have different experiences about digital classrooms to share with each other. Now we want to combine and integrate all of our experiences and learn from each other even more. Objectives of our project are:-provide teachers with digital competency to contribute to the teaching process by using digital tools.-teach teachers to create online classrooms and to add parents and students on those platforms-encourage teachers to acquire the behaviours to prepare online classrooms and fill it with rich content-allow teachers overcome their fears of online classrooms and digital materials-show teachers how to prepare practical materials online-teach teachers to hold digital presentations, exercises, worksheets and other materials on oline platforms that can be reached anytime- free up teacher’s time from preparing new materials each time-allow teachers and parents observe the student’s learning process instantly-involve parents in the teaching process more and get their supportOur participants are 12-17 year old students, teachers, parents and we aim to get some help from local organizations and universities. All our participants are eager to develop their digital skills. They will carry out the project and learn from the activities. In total we have around 2500 students, 5000 parents and 180 teachers. We have 2 different activities: transnational learning activities and domestic activities. Activities aim to raise awareness, instruct, teach and internalize the digitalization of education. Each of our activities aims to teach our participants through a web platform and encourage them to use it regularly later on. Our activities aim to lessen the fears of teachers’, students and parents' about using technology as some of them lack these skills. Many think that using digital platforms is too difficult. This project will be carried out with the methodology of using project teams at schools and one coordinator from each school will participate in the international management of the project. The school project team meets every month to evaluate the process. Our coordinator is in Estonia and we have our timetable set. The coordinators will make sure that all the tasks and activities are done on time and they share the outcomes via Whatsapp/Instagram/Facebook groups, on our project website, eTwinning platform and school gateway.
