Good Practice Exchange on e-Participation Platforms among European Youth

Description

"The project ""Good Practice Exchange on e-Participation Platforms among European Youth"" (eParticipation) is an exchange of good practices within the Strategic Partnerships in the field of youth of the Erasmus+ programme. The project, which is conformed of entities from Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom, identified the essential characteristics that electronic platforms must have to civically empower the new generations of Europeans. To achieve this, BB&R (Spain), HRYO (Italy) and Momentum World (United Kingdom) evaluated 10 electronic platforms in the following aspects: form of registration, security, social networks, design, instructions for use, networking and use of the platform. In this sense, the partners analysed, shared and exchanged knowledge and experiences on these platforms in virtual transnational meetings. In addition to the above, the project also included the participation of 21 young Europeans (from Spain, Italy and the United Kingdom). They evaluated the DemocracyOs platform and, in that platform, developed 8 proposals to tackle youth unemployment in their localities. Both analyses were systematised in an infographic handbook. This document contains the evaluation of the 10 platforms, the evaluation of young people, the proposals of young people to tackle youth unemployment and, finally, the essential characteristics that electronic platforms must have to really empower civic and politically the new generations of Europeans. It is expected that the project (in general) and the handbook (in particular) not only contribute to generate inputs on the electronic platforms, but also that these inputs can be used by various social agents, policy-makers, decision-makers and government agencies (at the local, regional, national and European level), to use the analysed platforms, develop their own platforms and, mainly, empower the new generations of Europeans in their daily work."
