"Technology is critical for innovation, yet schools struggle to get students interested in this area, particularly girls. Teaching robotics, and programming could change this. Robotics match the new digital technologies curriculums supported by a lot of schools throughout Europe. We believe that there are a lot of reasons to teach robotics in schools:Students find it fun and it is an effective way of introducing programming to students, programming and robotics provide skills useful in future jobs and it is suitable for students with a range of abilities. It is also a possible entry for teaching maths and it enables students in our school to use English in a very concrete way through softwares and communications with other students throughout Europe. The project ""EuroboRave"" is meeting the necessity of the 21st Digital Century Society to implement as much as possible in the regular and open curriculum the subject programming and robotics. Robotics helps address the growing demand for teaching science, technology, engineering and maths in schools and using the English language as a possible mean to communicate in this field of interest. By programming robots, students can discover if they have an interest in coding and there’s no doubt that there will be a need for people to be involved in programming devices in the foreseeable future. In this project are included five schools: from France, Lithuania, Poland, Bulgaria, and Portugal. Students from these schools are already engaged in the robotics, particularly the Portuguese school. One main output will be developed by this project: the making of a new robot. 5 meetings will be organized during the two years of the project."
