NEET'ler için Arıcılık Girişimciliği!

Description

"<< Background >>All over the world, the COVID-19 epidemic and the global financial crisis caused a significant increase in unemployment rates. One of the most affected groups in this process is the youth facing the biggest unemployment problem. Solving the unemployment crisis and enabling youth to enter the labor market has become one of the top priorities of the development agenda in many countries. Moreover, the number of young people who are neither in education nor in employment has exceeded 600 million worldwide. NEET data in Turkey are below the average of OECD countries and even last in Europe. (Eurostat, 2019)The most effective method to ensure the active participation of young people in social and economic life is to revive the entrepreneurial spirit. For this reason, entrepreneurship trainings should become widespread and meet target audiences. The more diverse entrepreneurship training is, the more young people will be able to participate in employment. A newly opened or restructured business; It increases the employment volume of the country, offers a solution to the unemployment problem and as a result, economic development gains a positive momentum. As a result of new business areas, educating young people in the country and especially young women in rural areas, guiding and supporting them with social activities, improves their entrepreneurship skills. Our project develops reports on youth work in rural areas and a training kit for entrepreneurship, and offers activities to support entrepreneurship training and activities with non-formal and informal trainings. (Encouraging young people to beekeeping and guiding them on how to start and run a lucrative business, fostering a culture of entrepreneurship in rural areas.)Beekeeping, which is a means of livelihood or additional income for a significant portion of the population of the South East Anatolia region, is important in terms of providing input to many branches of the trade sector. Beytüşşebap district of Şırnak is famous for its endemic plants, so it is a very productive region for the beekeeping industry. Beekeeping enterprises in this region generally consist of small enterprises or individual production as in the country. According to the data of Şırnak Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, there are 1050 registered beekeepers in the province. There are more than 80 thousand beehives throughout the province. The total annual honey production is between 750 and 800 tons.Farmers engaged in beekeeping have lagged behind the constantly evolving and digitalizing world due to terrorism for years. In addition, entrepreneurial skills are also suppressed. For this reason, they are far from technical production methods where knowledge and technology combine, and digital and entrepreneurial skills that make more profit. This situation caused low productivity and loss in economic returns. Yield and low profit are shaped by the widespread use of traditional beekeeping, inadequacies in beekeeping methods, unconscious disease struggle, inability to produce queen bees, and the use of existing queens for a long time. In addition, the ""Beekeeping"" course program prepared by the General Directorate of Lifelong Learning contains many deficiencies in both the beekeeping sector and the production of bee products. The course training period is 72 hours, the content of the training program includes general basic recommendations beyond critical information about unqualified young beekeepers. In addition, the lack of transversal and social skills in the program hinders the development of the potential of the participants in the region and the efficiency of the training. In addition, beekeeping is mostly limited to honey production in the Region. However, bee products such as propolis, beeswax, royal jelly and bee pollen with high added value are in great demand both in the national and global markets. For this reason, the production of bee products is a highly efficient and high<< Objectives >>Youth unemployment in the labor market in recent years; It has become an important problem for both developed and developing countries. Young people face many difficulties in the transition from education to the labor market. Those who lose their job first and are unemployed in a possible crisis are much more likely than other age groups. Especially in the recent period, many young people are exposed to temporary / part-time or informal forms of employment that yield very little income, even if they join the business world. The data of the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) February 2021 show that the unemployment rate in the 15-24 age group in Turkey has reached 26.9%. According to Neither Employment nor Education and Training (NEET) figures, Turkey has the highest NEET rate (29.5%) among OECD countries. The COVID-19 crisis has further deepened the problem of youth unemployment, making it more difficult to access decent jobs. In the Southeastern Anatolia Region of Turkey, the youth unemployment problem, especially in Şırnak, stands out to a great extent. The provincial economy of Şırnak is based on agriculture and animal husbandry, it has been one of the most severely affected provinces in the region in terms of youth unemployment, and current jobs have decreased significantly due to the COVID-19 outbreak. According to TURKSTAT 2018 data, in Şırnak, which is one of the provinces with the lowest female employment, the employment rate of women in the total population is 20.18%. In addition, young women in rural areas mostly work as unpaid family workers, unregistered in the city, below the minimum wage in the sector and in heavy conditions at home.Although there are various work programs for young people, beekeeping as a business has not received much attention. However, beekeeping plays an important role in improving livelihoods, especially in rural areas. Beekeeping is an important income generating activity with great potential for development. Landless and low-income areas, especially in rural and remote areas, are suitable for young people. Since hives can be found in poor soils or even rocky areas, they do not require a large amount of land or fertile soil to produce. It requires a minimum initial investment and usually makes a profit within the first year of the business. Moreover, beekeeping can easily be done by all ages and genders associated with the countryside. In addition to direct income from bee products, beekeeping also stimulates various sectors in a society such as hive carpentry, honey trade, hiring of bee colonies for pollination. Therefore, the participation of young people, and especially rural young women, in beekeeping activities provides unique opportunities to contribute to other livelihoods. There is an important geographical potential for beekeeping in the Southeastern Anatolia Region. Beytüşşebap district in the region, famous for its endemic plants in Şırnak; It is one of the most productive areas for beekeeping due to its geography, climate, flora and fauna diversity. Beekeeping is also a traditional and socioeconomic activity that has been carried out for centuries in Beytüşşebap and surrounding districts. In this context, beekeeping is a great option for NEETs to create their own business or earn extra income as a second activity in Beytüşşebap, where labor supply is extremely scarce. Low-skilled young people in Beytüşşebap need technical knowledge, motivation and entrepreneurial skills in beekeeping. Therefore, it is important to develop not only the basic skills and technical knowledge of young people in beekeeping, but also their organizational, financial and entrepreneurial skills to ensure their participation in beekeeping activities as successful entrepreneurs. In this context, our project aims to reduce youth unemployment in rural areas.<< Implementation >>One of the important factors in the project activities to reach the project goals is the strong communication and bond established between the partners. Each partner has a one-to-one harmony and experience with the project goals and activities. However, the partnership established includes different cultures, different fields of study and experiences. IOs, transnational meetings, multiplier events and supportive activities to be produced in this direction will be complementary to the project objectives.1. Production and Development of IOsProject IOs have been created in line with the support of youth unemployment, which has become a regional and universal problem with Covid-19 and the global financial crisis, and the increase in the unskilled youth population in rural areas. The first of the IOs produced is the report that offers innovative and creative approaches to establishing relationships with young people in rural areas in order to overcome the barriers in front of young people who have difficulties in finding jobs in rural and remote regions, emphasizing the difficulties faced by rural youth and improving their forward-looking motivations. Thus, by addressing the current challenges faced by young people, the necessary technical knowledge and necessary competencies will be provided for the production of bee and bee products with a very high profit potential for rural areas. The First IO will contribute to the creation of the Rural Entrepreneurship Training Set for Youth and will lead to successful results with the identified needs analyzes. In addition, this output will add diversity to limited resources for the production of non-formal and non-formal educational materials, digital tools and strategies in order to include young people in innovative agricultural production systems, ensure their social inclusion and increase their social participation, and will contribute to achieving the project goals. The third IO is a virtual learning platform for young beekeepers. This IO will include training modules and video library on beekeeping and entrepreneurship, and will enable NEETs and youth workers to acquire beekeeping and entrepreneurship skills and create innovative use of digital channels in its new normal order. Our latest output is digital marketing training material on beekeeping. The content of the training module will include information regarding the needs of the developing technology age such as marketing bee products, digital marketing and techniques, search engine optimization. The module will be created in the form of an e-book and will be prepared in four different languages. The content of the planned training module has innovative features in the context of its place for digital priorities and its sphere of influence. Thus, NEETs and unskilled rural youth will develop digital skills and gain digital sales and marketing competencies, where they can make a very high profit in the product they produce in the new business area.2. Multiplier EventsIt is a very important activity in terms of sharing and disseminating the intellectual outputs produced within the scope of the project. It will be ensured that IOs reach more target audiences while carrying out multiplier activities. Thus, with the works to be carried out, the Virtual Learning Platform for Beekeepers will be provided to reach more NEETs and rural youth and youth workers. This will help young people to increase their ability to use innovative approaches in digital channels and their professional skills in a specific area.3 International MeetingsWith the 24-month project, transnational meetings to be held every 6 months, the opportunity to meet face to face on the development and completion of the intellectual outputs, the budget plan, the activity timeline and the potential problems related to the project will be provided. In addition, online meetings with partner institution officials will be held regularly every month, and process management an<< Results >>The project will produce abstract and concrete results regarding our main target groups. All these skills will broaden young people's horizons and help increase their expectations and self-esteem for the future. In addition, Beytüşşebap Municipality will allocate 500m2 of land for the use of 30 NEETs. The results obtained there will be an indicator of future decision-making for policy makers. It will provide opportunities to develop transversal skills and quality learning.
