"Sexual and emotional health is an essential component of human development and well-being, present in all stages of life. In the European Union there are significant differences in way this right is upheld, for migrants in particular. The migrant population faces a number of challenges: lack of access to sex education and to the health-care system, cases of gender-based violence, discrimination and prejudice. In light of this context, our project entitled: ""Photovoice: a window into the sexual and emotional rights of migrants"" aims to train social inclusion professionals so that they can better support migrants with respect to their rights. This objective will be achieved through a process of exchange of good practices and the implementation of a joint project: ""The Photovoice"". The project will bring together 5 partners and several associate members, in Spain, Italy, France and Belgium, who specialise in the social inclusion of migrants or improving access to sex education. A total of 23 members from these organisations will be trained, and approximately 50 migrants will have participated in the Photovoice.Photovoice is a participatory action-research and empowerment methodology based on the use of photography as a means of communication and social change. Small groups of migrants will have the opportunity to express themselves artistically, participate in critical debate and to make their needs, realities and demands heard. After receiving distance training on this methodology, each partner will be in charge of their own Photovoice, involving migrant beneficiaries (of their entity or of the associated members) in their city. The Photovoice will conclude with a travelling exhibition, which will highlight the results achieved on a civic, media and political level. With this improved understanding of the topic, the professionals will participate in a one-week exchange at Por Ti Mujer's headquarters in Valencia. This meeting will be an opportunity to share useful tools between professionals, to build lasting links between organisations facing similar issues and to discover Europe's heritage. Finally, these lessons and the results of the exhibition will be consolidated in a guide that will be published on the websites of each partner and sent to a wide audience, in order to prolong the impact of this exchange."
