Think Global Support Local

Description

"With the basic project idea ""Think Global Support Local"", we want to sharpen the awareness of the participants for a sustainable, healthy nutrition in this same project. The participants are supposed to reconsider their own consumption behavior by getting to know the added value of regional products. The project background or context can be derived from the following key questions:- Does it always have to be huge amounts or might less be better? (Quality vs. quantity)- Do we really need superfoods from far-away countries for a healthy diet, or do regional products provide the same nutrients? (Chia seeds versus flaxseed)- How can traditional, regional recipes help us with a sustainable, regional diet?- How can long transport routes be avoided?- How can I grow my own food in the smallest area?- How can food be preserved? Which traditional food preservation techniques do we still know?- What does traditional livestock farming look like compared to industrial livestock production? The project directly involves 110 students and 50 teachers from the 5 partner schools through participation in transnational learning activities. In addition, other students and teachers are involved in the project by developing the projects’ topics in the classroom. More participants also include the host families, local politicians, companies and the local press who take part in individual project activities. The project is designed to assist participants in the acquisition and development of basic skills and key competences. These include competencies in the areas of language, social learning, intercultural learning, team building, project management, methodology, didactics and documentation. As a joint project result, a project brochure is to be prepared which, in addition to the documentation of the course of the project, also provides didactic information on the implementation of individual activities and teaching materials via the TwinSpace ""Think Global Support Local"". The brochure is to be created as PDF and can thus be distributed well e.g. via email distributor (snow-ball system). eTwinning is integrated as a communication platform. The TwinSpace is used for data exchange and documentation. There are 6 conferences planned in the partner countries and in Belgium. These are based on global aspects - “Think Global”, which are prepared via eTwinning as Homework (HW). Based on this, the conference topics (CT) highlight the regional characteristics of the partner regions -""Support Local"". Like this, global consequences can be recorded and regional conclusions can be drawn, e.g. the avoidance of long transport routes through the use of regional products and recipes.1st Conference Germany (November 2019) - Minimizing the global footprintHW: comparison of global and regional food from and in the partner countries.CT: global footprint / awareness of the consequences of one's own consumption behavior.
