ACT 4 INCLUSION - LIFE IN THEATRE

Description

ART 4 INCLUSION - LIFE IN THEATRE is a project aimed to extend and to develop the educators' competences through the use of skills related with the use of social improvisation theatre. The idea is to increase the level of the quality in the pedagogical methods and to have a wider number of methodologies to be used with people with special needs. The project outcomes are addressed to educators that work in the field of social inclusion. All of the partners work and have in their background, competences related with specific categories of special needs. The link with the target group it's very important to develop quality contents addressed to the needs of the individuals, increasing their opportunities of learning. Moreover, the project is aimed to increase the use of non formal education in the adult education, proving that the results that many educators and trainers are achieving in the field of youth work can be gained also in the field of adult education. This aspect is very important to create learning pathways about non formal educators for a wider range of educators, working with a wider range of target groups. The strategic partnership that makes up this project, identified the existing problem in the development of abilities of the people under study, especially in the development of social and personal skills suffered by adults with fewer opportunities (refugees and migrants, people with psychological disorders, people with physical disability, elderly people, etc). Most of these adults are reluctant to participate in formal education spaces. Therefore, we believe that generating non-formal education spaces with a methodology developed through theatre settings will generate personal tools to offer significant results in the case of anxiety disorders, depression, low self-esteem and social isolation. The 5 members of this strategic partnership considered that the centralization of these benefits and the transformation of art therapy into a therapeutic practice in the field of adult education in a standardized and scientifically proven way, are vital. Therefore it is necessary that adult educators, trainers and staff, working in different social fields, have concrete, accurate and centralized data on the use of theatrical tools and exercise practices that can be implemented in activities with people in risk of social exclusion. The concrete results expected from the project will be the following: 1. Intellectual outputs: - Training kit for educators - Board game focused on improvisation theatre - e-learning training course 2. Training activity 3. Impact on partner organizations:Professionalization of adult educators and the development of adult education field in general. After the project completion, all the organizations that participated in the project will be able to conduct theatre activities for their target group, will be able to train other adult educators in this methodology and will have in their portfolio a great expertise in this field that melts art-therapy, non formal education and adult education, for an increased efficiency in raising the life quality of people, no matter the culture or the social status. These results will remain available also after the project completion as it is described in the field addressed to sustainability. This project's intellectual outputs and activities will be useful to adult educators, but also will give a plus value to the adult education field, through this approach of theatre therapy, including a toolkit (with theories, applicative exercises, recommendations for specialists), an e-learning training course on a web platform (that can be used not only by the adult educators and organizations involved in the project, but by all of the interested specialists) and a board game (to do the methodology an attractive approach). Each of the partners in this project has experience in working with people with fewer opportunities. Aspaym has a long career working with people with physical disabilities, conducting workshops with different methodologies to promote inclusion and improve sensory abilities and the well-being of their lives. Ceipes works with refugees. Aiccsc (or Gamma Inst.) has extensive experience working with people with psychological disorders. Rosto Solidario has a wide knowledge working with people with geographical and economic obstacles, as well as people with special learning needs. Rede Inducar develops multiple actions using theatre at local and regional level. All the activities of this project will be adapted and designed for all the participant profiles (physical disability, psychological disorders, refugees, elderly people, ... etc). The basis on which this project is founded is the inclusion and therefore, the design of the activities, as the accessibility to them, is fully guaranteed.
