By effectively organizing the lunch break in schools, schools can contribute to greater equal opportunities for children. With the help of subsidies, various schools in Amsterdam offer programs concerning healthy eating and exercise during the lunch break, so that all children can participate. The implementation of these programs is still in its infancy. Therefore, in this project, we examine to what extent it is possible to implement the programs as intended at four primary schools in Amsterdam, what effects they have on the socio-emotional development of students, and whether it is plausible that they contribute to greater equal opportunities.
